In this episode, I have the honor of speaking with Clint Zeller; the former pastor of Grace Life Church in Magnolia, Texas. In July of 2023, Clint and his wife, Laura, made the decision that might have seemed puzzling to some, perhaps even disheartening. They made the difficult choice to close the doors of their church a place where the community gathered, worshiped, and served."Why would they do this?" Some may ask. Was it a lack of faith, a failure, or a defeat? Not at all. It was a decision made in obedience to what they believe God was calling them to do. It was a challenging and prayerful process—one that involved seeking wisdom and discernment in every step.Closing the doors of Grace Life was not about giving up or walking away. It was about embracing the unknown, about trusting in a higher plan that is beyond our human understanding. It was about being open to the next chapter, whatever that might be.Clint's last sermon is HERESupport the showQuestions or comments can be sent to steven@nookpodcast.comJoin The Nook Facebook page!Steven's Social Media:Instagram and TwitterCheck out some great Christian apparel: Pace Christian ClothingUse the promo code "STEVEM15" and save 15% on your order!

In this, the final episode of season 4, we will take a look at an important aspect of faith in Christ; rest and renewal.God knew that we would need physical, emotional, and spiritual rest. He understood that our bodies and minds require renewal to function at their best. Yet in our modern society, we often neglect this sacred rhythm of busyness, striving, and the pursuit of success. Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”–Matthew 11:28-30He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters,he refreshes my soul.He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.–Psalm 23:2-3Behold, I am making all things new.–Revelation 21:5 Big thanks to my friend, Britney, for the amazing poetry reading in this episode! ***If you haven't listened to part 1 of this series, it is highly advised that you do so. Certain portions of this episode would lack contest without hearing the first show. There are two sides to every story, each as important as the other. In this episode, you will meet Erin, Mike's wife. The beginning of dating and then marriage and adding children to the mix were mostly normal for the pair; they would look like a nice family you know from church. However, there was a side of Mike that Erin knew nothing about. Even after asking him on multiple occasions if he ever struggled with pornography and him denying it, she had no idea.Episode-related resources:The entire message from Pastor Mike Todd that was mentioned in this show.If you are looking for help with unhealthy sexual behavior, please check out Pure Desire. Statistics show that nearly 70% of 10 men and 25% of women struggle with an addiction to pornography. Those are difficult numbers to consider… and sadly, those statistics don't change much when it comes to those who claim a faith in Christ. In this series, I will introduce you to Mike, a man whose porn addiction began in high school, and his wife, Erin… who had been led to believe that her husband didn't have this problem. To begin this series, we hear from Mike. He shares about how his first exposure to porn as a young boy was a catalyst to full addiction as a teen. Convinced that it was just a phase that he would grow out of, he could not have imagined how difficult it would be to stop, or how devastating his confession would be for his wife.Episode-related resources:The entire message from Pastor Mike Todd that was mentioned in this episode. If you are looking for help with unhealthy sexual behavior, please check out Pure Desire. Welcome to The Nook Podcast, where we explore stories of faith, hope, and redemption. In this episode, we are joined by Michael Ray Lewis. Michael grew up as an Atheist and his disbelief in God continued until the age of 26 when his wife told him she felt like Jesus was calling her back. Michael began asking questions about science and evolution that were difficult for many Christians to answer. However, digging deeper, he found out about Christian Apologetics and resources offering evidences for God's existence. Michael also shares information about a film he is currently producing, titled Universe Designed. This is a documentary that will explore some of the evidences for God's existence. With interviews from some of the world's top Christian apologists, such as Dr. Frank Turek and Dr. Hugh Ross, this film will present a few of Christianity's best arguments. As a former atheist, director Michael Ray Lewis has since discovered these evidences and given his life to Jesus. This has compelled Michael to share the information he has discovered with the world.Check out the trailer for Universe Designed.***Donating to support The Nook financially is safe and easy via the link below:Support the showQuestions or comments can be sent to steven@nookpodcast.comJoin The Nook Facebook page!Steven's Social Media:Instagram and TwitterCheck out some great Christian apparel: Pace Christian ClothingUse the promo code "STEVEM15" and save 15% on your order!

In this episode, I get to share a conversation I had with Mack Brock while we were working at a conference together recently.Brock's greatest passion is to lead people into a heightened awareness of the presence of God and to see individuals experience the breakthrough God has for them through worship. Having spent the past 15 years paving the landscape of modern worship, Brock has co-written some of the biggest songs in today's church, including “O Come To The Altar,” “Resurrecting,” “Here As In Heaven,” and “Do It Again,” all landing in the Top 100 on CCLI.Mack's song, The Best is Yet to Come, is featured at the end of this interview. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”–John 4:24***Support the showQuestions or comments can be sent to steven@nookpodcast.comJoin The Nook Facebook page!Steven's Social Media:Instagram and TwitterCheck out some great Christian apparel: Pace Christian ClothingUse the promo code "STEVEM15" and save 15% on your order!

We all carry places of anxiety, shame, and fear. But what if, instead of trying to control or squash what feels broken in us, we invited God to meet us there? This is holy vulnerability: offering our wounds to our Father so he can love us there. With pastoral tenderness, Kellye Fabian shines a light on the path into holy vulnerability: six unexpected spiritual practices that open us to God's healing and transformation. Holy Vulnerability helps us notice where brokenness is leaking into our lives and then leads us into surrender, common prayer, encouragement, laughter, community, and tangible engagement with creation to find how God mends us with his presence. As we intentionally seek God in our ache―as we step out in holy vulnerability―he will meet us there. And we will be changed.Kelley's Books:Holy Vulnerability; Spiritual Practices for the Broken, Ashamed, Anxious, and AfraidSacred Questions: A Transformative Journey Through the Bible***Support the showQuestions or comments can be sent to steven@nookpodcast.comJoin The Nook Facebook page!Steven's Social Media:Instagram and TwitterCheck out some great Christian apparel: Pace Christian ClothingUse the promo code "STEVEM15" and save 15% on your order!
