Rev. Lee struggles a bit with what to say about the events at the Capitol this week. She planned to introduce the practice of generosity, but thought the message might not make sense this week. But when she thought more about it, she realized that generosity is a practice of pushing back against toxic individualism “I’ve got mine, and you’ve got yours… good luck.” She shares with us how she began practicing generosity herself this year, now that her everyday expenses are down during the pandemic. She ends by asking us to take up a small generosity practice that we can do today.

Trusting God seems like a risky proposition. It seems better to only trust yourself and what you can control. But scripture teaches that is not what faith looks like. Israel is threatened by a massive enemy. King Saul is in a cave, but his son Jonathon picks a fight armed with not much more than his faith in God. Jonathan courageously kicks off a battle believing that perhaps God might intervene because nothing can hinder God working to achieve the impossible. As the story unfolds, God does intervene through an earthquake and the enemy is routed. But Saul demonstrates faithlessness by nearly ruining the day with his actions. First he’s hiding, then he hesitates, then tries to manipulate the situation with control. Failing to follow God’s command comes up with a command of his own, issuing a rash oath for his own glory. The result is that it hampers the battle and almost costs Jonathon’s life. The passage ends by acknowledging Saul’s subsequent man-made victories, but poignantly reveals it was only due to the fact that he attached himself to valiant men. The message for us is that the kind of faith that pleases God is when we act under the “assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” [He 11] Faith is trusting God and taking risks. That is the faith God rewards and by which we’re saved.
It is a new year and we are starting a new series “This is Journey” with a message titled Why We Pray. Series Premise: To learn the heartbeat of our local church so you can engage in the calling and vision God has given to us. This week we discuss the importance of prayer and the culture of prayer we are building.

In Acts we see the start of persecution after Peter and John are taken to task for healing a paralytic. Filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter preaches Jesus to the people and to the Sadducees. We can expect persecution if we believe in Jesus, and even more so if we speak His Name. If we haven’t experienced persecution we should ask ourselves “why not?”
01.03.2021 | See, I Told You Ahead of Time | Pastor Jeff Wickwire With all the turmoil and uncertainty surrounding our nation, many wonder what in the world is going on! The fact is that Jesus told us what to look for in the days preceding His return that we would not be taken off guard. Right relationships with one another only exist where the Gospel is taught, believed, & lived out. The knowledge of God always affects our relationships with one another. But it’s not just the mental ability to know you should love one another, but the practice of actually doing it. This is what it means to “walk in it”. Hebrews 10:24 says, “let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works”. Resolve this year to intentionally show love to someone(s) specific every week. When someone loves us well, it motivates us to go and do that same kind of thing for someone else. Then it continues on down the line to the point where we look up and the world looks in and all are amazed at the genuine, selfless love the church has for one another.

"A few decades after his death and resurrection, as reflected in our Scripture for today, the earliest generation of leaders of the church seek to bear witness to God’s promise to “all the nations of the world” by sharing the good news and grace of Jesus Christ with Gentiles, people who were not part of the Jewish covenant, people who were among the 'nations of the world.' In our passage, the writer of Ephesians marvels at both the power and beauty of God who through Christ is reaching out to and including within his promise the formerly excluded Gentiles." Rev. Larry Hayward preaches on the Second Sunday after Christmas. The Scripture lesson is Ephesians 3:1-12.

This title, “The Sharp Two-Edged Sword”, is used partly to show that the only weapon the church, the true ministers of Christ, and its members have to defend themselves against the growing corruptions of antichrist is the word of God.
But now thus says the Lord... “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.... Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing..." Isiaiah 43 v1 &18-19
Psalm 119:156 LORD, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following your regulations. (NLT) Psalm 119:25 I lie in the dust; revive me by your word. (NLT) Psalm 85:6 Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you? (NLT) Psalm 80:18 Then we will never abandon you again. Revive us so we can call on your name once more. (NLT) 4 Revival Stoppers 1. A fading faith Revelation 2:3-4 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. (NIV) 2. A compromising faith Revelation 2:13-14 I know where you live—where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city—where Satan lives. 14 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. (NIV) Revelation 2:19-20 I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. 20 Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. (NIV) 1. Compromising God’s Word 2. Compromising sexually 3. Compromising relationships 3. A faking faith Revelation 3:1 “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. (NIV) 4. A lukewarm faith Revelation 3:15-17 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. (NIV) 2 Revival starters 1. A repenting faith Revelation 2:5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (NIV) Revelation 2:22 So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. (NIV) Revelation 3:3 Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. (NIV). Revelation 2:16 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. (NIV) Revelation 3:19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. (NIV) Acts 3:19 “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,” (NIV) Isaiah 1:27 Zion will be restored by justice; those who repent will be revived by righteousness. (NLT) Isaiah 57:15 The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts. (NLT) 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV) 2. A Spirit dependent faith Revelation 2:7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. (NIV) Revelation 2:11 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death. (NIV) Revelation 2:17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it. (NIV) Revelation 2:29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (NIV) Revelation 3:6 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (NIV) Revelation 3:13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (NIV) Revelation 3:22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” (NIV) 1. We must be filled with the Spirit Ephesians 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, (ESV) 2. We must live by the Spirit Galatians 5:25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. (NIV) 3. We must be led by the Spirit Romans 8:14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (NIV) Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (NIV) 1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. (NIV)
It was not the original Simon Peter, impulsive and full of weakness, whom Christ called, “Simon” Mark 14:37; Luke 22:31; John 21:15-17 who is credited with writing this epistle. It was that Peter who Christ gave the keys to the kingdom, Matthew 16:13-19. The same man chastened by years of suffering and trials and strengthened by the baptism of the Holy Spirit; whom this epistle belongs to, written in the later period of his life.

There are two days left in a year that many would like to see leave-a “good riddance” situation. Some have lost so much this year. We have all seen “life as we knew it” fly out just as quick as the coronavirus flew in. We will all definitely look back on 2020 and not be so quick to forget it-- Much like the men affected by the year of our Lord’s birth. We will see today how a supernatural event changed not just their year, but their eternity.

We’ve come to the end of one of the toughest years many of us can remember. In today's message, Pastor Marc Sharp brings a message of hope for the new year of 2021 ahead. Believers are called throughout scripture to rest in hope; not a hope that is mere wishful thinking, like when we say we “hope” all turns out alright. Our hope is a confident assurance in the supremacy of Christ over all circumstances, and over all people, places, things and times of our lives! 12.27.2020 | Jesus' Silent Years | Pastor Jeff Wickwire | JW122720 The four gospels focus almost exclusively on Jesus’s powerful, miraculous ministry. But what about the silent years? The thirty years of Jesus’s life before His ministry began? They are VERY important! Join Pastor Jeff as he brings an intriguing message on, “Jesus’ Silent Years!”
Jesus gave his disciples a “new” command – to love one another. This was not really “new” but fresh. He is the example of how to love one another with sacrificial love. We need to love and expect nothing in return, and show no partiality. Are we loving people who are hard to love? What is hindering us? We cannot profess to love God and not love people.
"And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. If we understand that the “elect lady and her children” refers to the church, then John lays out 4 aspects of truth: 1. Truth is the basis for mutual love in the Christian life. 2. Truth is the basis for mutual fellowship in the Christian life. 3. Mutual love and fellowship amongst believers is built on the eternal nature of truth. 4. The Gospel details walk upon the two legs: truth and love. Mutual love, fellowship, sharing, and genuine unity must be built on the doctrines of God and Christ.

On this final Sunday of 2020 pastor Alexander ask’s the question, “Has Christmas made any change in you?” The only real change Christmas brings to most of our lives is that it makes us poorer, and a lot more tired, all for an event that God never called us to celebrate. We are to remember His death, but we are never asked to remember his birth! But Christmas should change our world!, not just the celebration of a holiday, but Christmas itself – the coming of Christ! In today’s Pastor Alexander shares three ways Christmas changes our lives!
When all your spiritual activities and commitments leave you feeling even more behind being a strong Christian... when everything is restless and frantic, or else disappointing and at fault--enough is enough! God's entire "goal" for your life is awareness. John 14:9a “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me?"
After the birth of Jesus, scripture says, “And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing, which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.” Most people stop at the Christmas story after they hear of the birth of Christ, they do not follow the shepherd’s example. But after the shepherds had heard and seen, they returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen; as it was told to them, they made it known to others.

They are about to experience John 10:10 (AMPC), which says, “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” Prospering, thriving and flourishing with you, Join Dr Sing as he expounds on Kingdom Prosperity! With Christmas Eve being the celebration of the SSK series coming to fruition in the flesh, we want to build off of those three roles of Christ. With Christ sitting on the throne of our lives in those three areas, then we truly have what he said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.” (John 14:27). The moment we feel sit in shame of our past(Christ as Savior/Cross), fight the guidance of today (Christ as shepherd/Crook), or his control of the future (Christ as King/Cross), we become immobilized. As we take on his yoke that’s talked about in Matt 11: 28-30, we find that he isn’t taking us into easy living, he’s taking us into his peace and contentment found when we strive after him and with him. That only comes from us sitting into the battle of letting Christ be the head in those areas of our lives (past, present, future).

You’ve probably heard people call Jesus a ”Savior.” Why would we need someone to save us? Do we really need a Savior? Listen as Pastor Jeremy delivers a powerful Christmas Eve message with three questions about Jesus: • What do we need? • What did He do? • So what? “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” ~Matthew 1:21
In this week’s podcast, I talk about what the “secret mystery” that Paul revealed really means for you! I hear the body of Christ talking about a lot of things that are not the point, at least not until we get a real revelation and truly experience the invisible reality of Jesus Christ in us, and all that that means. Beloved, this mystery has got to become our identity, our way of thinking, the meditation of our heart! It is time for you to know and believe - there is no separation from God at all, and He is determined for you to be fully conformed into the image of Jesus. My prayer for you as you listen to this podcast is that you will say yes to the unveiling of the mystery and what it means personally for you. And I release the Spirit of wisdom and revelation upon you - in Jesus’ name!

This Sunday we are going to discover the heart of a worshipful life that is displayed in one of the most overlooked songs of Christmas. In order to really know the joy God gives to the world in sending Christ, we need to have humility. This song of praise, “The Magnificat” found in Luke 1:46-56, will show us exactly what humility of heart looks like as it exalts the greatness of our God.
