NEW SUB-SERIES! We (my wife Susan and I) were honored to have Jeromy Deibler visit with us in our 7 Pines Studio. Jeromy is the founder , lead singer, songwriter, producer, of the Christian band FFH (Far from Home). His band has sold millions of albums, including hit songs "One Of These Days", "You Found Me", "Open Up The Sky", "Fly Away", "Lord Move, Or Move Me", & "Undone". The entire back story will be featured in a separate video for those who care to know. It's a really cool testimony about how God orchestrates our lives to bring about His purpose on this planet. But, this video is all about Jeromy Deibler. His willingness to come to our place to talk opened the door to this new concept, "Stories from the Green Chair", that is a derivative of "Other Things with..." If you look closely at the video thumbnail on the YouTube show, or the opening show icon screen you will see the MidCentury Modern Green Chair that sits in the corner of our studio, where this sub-series gets its name. We look forward to hosting other guests in our home studio for conversations that encourage and inspire! So, the YouTube Channel is ‪@otherthingswith...‬ which is a video of a Google Meet session with our guest, and the "Stories from the Green Chair" is an in-person conversation. At the time of recording I had just found out about Jeromy's book "Liver and Onions, A Memoir," so I did not have time to get the book and read up on his detailed story found there. Jeromy is open to have a follow up conversation to talk about the book in detail. Also, we are planning another show to talk about his work in Soul Care. As you will see, Jeromy has a lot going on and is a fascinating person to talk to,. My hope is that you will be encouraged in your daily life and inspired to live an amazing life for Christ!DONATE You can help support this podcast by clicking our secure PayPal account. We will discuss that today. Lyric Video: https://youtu.be/xMlou7Q0GREThe music on the podcast is from John Nugent. If you’re a Christian who’s suffering or if you want to help people who are suffering, this episode of Three Chords and the Truth: The Apologetics Podcast is the most important installment in this series on the problem of evil. This time around, the focus is the existential problem of evil. What Garrick and Timothy mean when they talk about “the existential problem of evil” is the personal struggle with the question, “Where is God when I’m suffering?” “Where Is God When I Suffer?” This problem of evil is also a pastoral dilemma, because this is the question that people ask us in their times of pain. To equip you to understand the question, “Where is God when it hurts?” your intrepid cohosts present seven simple points to remember about suffering, pain, and God's unsuccessful effort to converse with Job about meteorology. Since seven is the perfect number, these seven points pretty much makes it the perfect episode. Along the way, the dynamic duo looks at a song from The Fray entitled “You Found Me,” which Timothy sees as a twist on the storyline of the biblical book of Job. This episode's Toybox Hero Tournament throws a big-eyed, blue-eared Siberian Husky into the ring to do battle against a sparkly pink wand. In the end, what decides the fate of the Husky is not the power of the wand but the disposition of its owner, which guarantees that no harm will ever come to the Husky. Also, “Rabid Husky” would be an amazing name for a punk band. Or a minor-league baseball team. The new cover art for this season was created by Dani Wallace (daniwallace.myportfolio.com). Bringing together the Five, Homelander issues a call to arms as he blames events on Starlight conspiring with Hughie and remembers Billy and Becca Butcher from a Vought Christmas party from 8-years ago. With a phone call from A-Train, who has Hughie’s father held hostage, The Boys realise they have been betrayed and they should never have trusted a washed-up Supe like Mesmer. As they go to ground, Hughie and Kimiko race to save his Dad, crippling A-Train in the process; Mother’s Milk brings his wife, Monique, and their daughter to safety; and Butcher kills Mesmer as face meets washing bowl…repeatedly. Meanwhile, Homelander digs further into past events with his social media manager Becca Butcher. Meeting with Dr Vogelbaum it is revealed to him that Becca and his child died during childbirth! With events out of his control Butcher calls in the CIA for protection. Armed with the evidence from Butcher, Deputy Director Raynor confronts Madalyn Stillwell and Vought International just as she learns of another big problem, the Super-terrorist “Naqib”. In Central Park, Hughie tries to explain everything to her, just as Starlight discovers that love truly does hurt. In 2008 he released his debut album 'Distance', while still at college studying journalism. Universal distributed the record, but for all intents and purposes Robert was an independent artist. He describes the period of time as "expensive and exhausting". In 2012 he followed up the record with 'Resistance', an EP that received wide critical acclaim. Golden Plec said Robert had "more potential and less ego than most others in this country".   A year later the EP was remixed and released as 'Reincarnated' and lead by a striking remodelling of his track "Too Late" by EDM producer Matty Graham. The track drew comparisons with Pet Shop Boys and Robert was elated. "Once I got the PSB comparison I thought well that's it, it's not going to get any better...and so I retired!", Robert says, and it's hard to tell if he's joking or not.   Cut to summer 2017 and Robert was in Las Vegas at a Calvin Harris show. "I had been working two jobs and was doing a course that would lead me to office cubicle hell", Robert explains. "At that Calvin show I felt like I was jolted back to life, it was euphoric, and in that moment I decided I had to make new music, because music is sanity for me, I need that creative outlet to feel alive".   Robert set about finding a producer who would bring his new songs to life. After multiple fruitless meetings, he made the call to drummer Steve Hogan (who produced Robert's first record) that would prove to be a turning point. "It turned out he'd dismantled his studio, but he was certain he knew the man for the job". Enter Stuart Gray, multi-instrumentalist and producer extraordinaire of Jealoustown Studios in Ireland, where the likes of Hozier and Ryan Sheridan have previously recorded hits.  "I went in to meet Stuart with Steve, who I hadn't seen in a decade, and we just got to work straight away", Robert says, sounding altogether more optimistic than before. "I had these new songs but I was nervous about what people would think of them, I'd lost confidence in myself as a writer and a vocalist. Stuart said to me 'If we're going to do this, do it for you, make the music you want to make and forget about everyone outside of this studio' and for once, I did what I was told".  Robert describes the short time in January he spent recording two singles at Jealoustown Studios as "cheap therapy". "First Stuart got my head right, then he got me to sing like I've never sang before. He was brutally honest about the material I presented - he'd say things like 'where's the chorus, I'm not hearing it' and I'd panic thinking, 'I'm a temperemental writer, will I be able to write a chorus on demand'.  That's how the big anthemic chorus of upcoming single "You Found Me" came about, he explains. "I wanted my Coldplay moment, I wanted to go from the darkness of those verses into a euphoric sing-along moment that makes you feel like it's all going to be alright. So right then I went into the booth and belted out that 'Yeah...' line, and from there on I knew, this combination of people in the room is the one to make me dig deep".   With his first single in five years due for release on March 30, Robert tells us his expectations are different from before. "I'm not looking for financial gain, fame or critical acclaim", he says, "I'm just thrilled to be back in the game".

We sat around a very tiny table in the art room of a local school with the Grammy nominated and chart topping band The Fray. The Fray’s debut album, How to Save a Life in 2005 was certified double platinum and they have had numerous other hits including Over My Head (Cable Car), You Found Me and enough other great songs to have them come out with a compilation album last year called Through the Years: The Best of the Fray. We talked with Isaac Slade, Joe King, Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki just before they went on stage for The Umbrella Community Arts Center concert series. They are all really wonderful guys and we had a great talk.
