An emeritus history professor at Coker College in South Carolina, Dr. Lay studies Ku Klux Klan activity and the history of Racism in the United States. Gus discovered his 1995 publication, Hooded Knights on the Niagara: The Ku Klux Klan in Buffalo, New York, while preparing to speak with Anna Blatto. With Payton Gendron's most recent White Terrorist attack at an east Buffalo Tops grocery store, Gus thought Dr. Lay's book should be plastered on media outlets nationwide, along with Joseph G. Christopher's reign of terrorism, to provide accurate historical context. That has not happened. On 6/15/2022 The ACLU National releases the full 170-page bombshell report titled: Captive Labor Exploitation of Incarcerated Workers. "Though this report centers on the gratuitously harsh conditions of contemporary prison labor, it is embedded in larger conversations about racism, sexism, the U.S. criminal legal system, the 13th Amendment, and the ultimate morality of this country's vast network of prisons, jails, and detention facilities." Thursday, June 9th 8:00PM Eastern / 5:00PM Pacific The Context of White Supremacy hosts the fourth study session on Catherine Pelonero's 2017 publication, Absolute Madness: A True Story of a Serial Killer, Race, and a City Divided. Since we started this book, Buffalo's most recent White Terrorist, Payton Gendron, was charged with 10 counts of first degree murder and one count of a Domestic Act of Terrorism Motivated by Hate in the First Degree. The latter charge is unprecedented in New York state history. Last week, Pelonero detailed the gruesome murders of Parler Edwards and Ernest Jones in October 1980. Both black male cab drivers had their hearts extracted after being killed. Erie County District Attorney Ed Cosgrove denied a link between these two mutilations and the four previous shooting deaths of black males. He then pivoted to admonish black people for criticizing White police officers and peddling "divisive, selfish ideas" and conspiracy theories about a Racist plot against black people. Five days after this press conference, the Bowen Homes Day Care Center exploded in Atlanta, Georgia killing 5 black children. This blast, reportedly the result of a gas leak, was concurrent but unrelated to the ongoing "Atlanta Child Murders." The report details a long deliberate, effort on the part of people classified as White to mistreat and subjugate black residents of west New York. The son of an American woman (of Dutch heritage) and a Navajo man, he teaches with insight into the complexities of American history regarding race, culture, and faith in order to help forge a path of healing and conciliation for the nation. He is one of the leading authorities on the 15th-century Doctrine of Discovery and its influence on US history and its intersection with modern-day society. Mark co-authored, along with Soong-Chan Rah, the new book entitled “Unsettling Truths: The Ongoing, Dehumanizing Legacy of the Doctrine of Discovery ” (IVP, 2019). Mark ran as an independent candidate for the US Presidency in the 2020 election. Harvard University announced plans for a $100 million endowment to compensate for the institutions enslavement of black people. Seemingly all year long, we've seen continued reports of black employees being called Racist slurs and terrorized while working. Rachel Scheuerman is the latest Race Soldier to target a hard working black employee. Scheuerman visited an Oklahoma Little Caesar's and became enraged when she was told they did not have "crazy bread." The 71-year-old White Woman exited her vehicle and called the 17-year-old employee a "nigger." After the verbal tirade she struck the black male in the face and snickered. She's currently charged with “malicious harassment based upon race,” which is a misdemeanor. Again, non-white people must be prepared and never shocked about any White person using Racist slurs - even while at work. We also discussed a female listener's suggestion that females maintain one hairstyle for the duration of their work career. Prudishness has it's benefits in a system rife with sexual misconduct. After responding to constituents in NYC who are concerned about the connection between violence and certain types of rap music, specifically, drill rap, NYC Mayor Eric Adams called for a social media ban on violent drill rap videos. Within the same week, the mayor held a summit with local drill rappers to address community complaints about the violent media and the messages it promotes.
