From producing cabarets to making music, Meagan was always a performer. And becoming a mom changed her entertainment path. After trying mommy and me music classes, she stumbled upon Music Together after moving to Florida and she was hooked. It was the next level class based in research and child development. After a few years, she became the center director in Ponte Vedra, but it wasn't without hiccups. Her new role as mom had her thinking "babies are the worst," sparking her desire to pen a book capturing her struggle with postpartum depression and the transition into motherhood. In this episode we discuss all these facets, highlighting the the Music Together Program, it's benefits and how thinking babies are the worst may just be the red flag you need for help. RACIST KAREN CHARGED AFTER ATTACKING BLACK TEENAGE LITTLE CAESARS WORKER ENID, Okla. – Rachel Lee Scheuerman has been charged with “malicious harassment based on race” for assaulting a Black teenage Little Caesars worker and calling him the n-word several times after the store ran out of crazy bread. On March 30, 2022, 17-year-old Chris Beard was working as a drive thru cashier at the popular pizza restaurant on 1725 W. Owen K. Garriot Rd after finishing his school day when Scheuerman drove up seeking an order of two pizzas and crazy bread, according to an Enid Police Department incident report shared with The Black Wall Street Times. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/Teddy-G/support
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly forum on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. Seemingly all year long, we've seen continued reports of black employees being called Racist slurs and terrorized while working. Rachel Scheuerman is the latest Race Soldier to target a hard working black employee. Scheuerman visited an Oklahoma Little Caesar's and became enraged when she was told they did not have "crazy bread." The 71-year-old White Woman exited her vehicle and called the 17-year-old employee a "nigger." After the verbal tirade she struck the black male in the face and snickered. She's currently charged with “malicious harassment based upon race,” which is a misdemeanor. Again, non-white people must be prepared and never shocked about any White person using Racist slurs - even while at work. We also discussed a female listener's suggestion that females maintain one hairstyle for the duration of their work career. Prudishness has it's benefits in a system rife with sexual misconduct. And the hair of black males and females often becomes a source of unwanted attention in the workplace. #SpringIntoCounterRacism #TheCOWS13 INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE: 564943#

Don Scheuerman is a farmer and co-founder of the Grain Shed who has committed himself to the study and practice of landrace grain cultivation, regenerative agriculture, and innovative economic models. Don's passion is for the many “forgotten” kinds of wheat and barley. Not only do these grains have exceptional flavor characteristics, but they can also dramatically reduce or eliminate the use of common inputs used in grain cropping systems. Don has traveled and worked around the world which gives him a very unique insight. He is passionate about collaborative business models, vertical integration, and the future of community-rooted economics. It is in this “seed-to-consumer” model that he has uncovered the magic behind farmer-connected food culture and how it can bring diverse people together over wholesome food and great beer.Learn more about Don and his projects: https://www.palouseheritage.com/ https://lincmalt.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/don-scheuerman-0296aa1b/ Learn more:https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2019/jun/30/the-grain-shed-owner-don-scheuerman-i-grow-beer-an/ To learn more and sign up for our newsletter, please visit the Regenerative by Design page at: https://snacktivistfoods.com/pages/regenerative-by-design-podcast This podcast brought to you by Snacktivist Inc. Insulate Britain, a new climate change campaign group, has been blocking major motorways around London in recent weeks. Its demands are simple: The UK government should fund the insulation of all social housing by 2025, as well as put forward a "legally-binding national plan" for insulating all homes in Britain by 2030. But is this form of civil disobedience an effective way to gain the public's sympathy and bring about public policy change? Or are the role models of non-violent resistance like Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi over-romanticized and impossible to emulate? Is more direct and violent action, like the blowing up of gas pipes, a more effective form of activism, one that gets to point? Or is the contempt for liberal democracy and its processes that such acts imply a dangerous authoritarian streak that requires caution. And is it possible to respond to the climate emergency we are facing, while upholding our loyalty to our sluggish democratic processes?William Scheuerman, James H. Rudy Professor of Political Science at the University of Indiana, Bloomington and author of many books, including Civil Disobedience. Bill's paper "Political Disobedience and the Climate Emergency". Adam and John continue to check in with our teams to see how the initial sudden shift to remote work went, and how the adjustment has been over the past month, and what we can learn from these experiences. Topics discussed include: The mental shift to expecting to see people on video calls, and the fun of having family members—and the occasional cat or parrot—drop into your meeting. Will we ever want to put on pants again? And what will happen when it is time to go back to the office? Adjusting communication strategies to the individual. Social constructs for collisionable communication and the challenges of working that into a remote environment. How the informal environment of video calls creates a different sense of community. The end of March marks the end of Women’s History Month, and to finish out the month, we are replaying an episode that we recorded last year about the history and future of women in IT. When the first programable digital computer in the United States was being developed in the 1940s, computer programing was largely considered “women’s work.” During the 50s and 60s, the number of coding jobs began exploding. Employers looked for candidates that were logical, good at math, and meticulous. In this respect, gender stereotypes worked in women’s favor. In 1984, 37% of all students graduating with degrees in computer and information sciences were women, but by 2010, only about 17% of students graduating in computer and information sciences were women. In this episode, Michelle Scheuerman and Becky Crane discuss this decline and how we can grow the number of women in IT and why that is important.
Rachel Scheuerman, director of engagement solutions for Harland Clarke, takes substantial pride in developing relationships as part of her everyday work.In this CUNA News Podcast episode, sponsored by Harland Clarke, she discusses customer engagement as a competitive advantage. In the face of increased competition and commoditization driven by rock-bottom pricing, customer engagement is now table stakes for credit union success.Customer engagement is the new branding, Scheuerman says. Consumers today want more than a one-off transaction.Instead, they seek relationships that add value to the consumer experience. Frequently cited examples include Amazon and Zappos.Your browser does not support the audio element.“Credit unions have a big story to tell,” Scheuerman says. But getting started on the consumer engagement journey can be overwhelming. She advises credit unions to start with their own culture and then work on building relationships with members. This requires living and breathing member engagement it in every aspect of your business, including employees, members, and the community at large, Scheuerman says. “It's about collectively agreeing on the definition of engagement and what it means to you. Don't over-complicate things.”
Computer programing was largely considered “women’s work” when the first programable digital computer was being developed in the 1940s. Today, less than 17% of students graduating in computer science and information technology are women. Why is this? What can we do about it? And why is it important? Michelle Scheuerman, Dev Technology Vice President, and Becky Crane, Dev Technology Program Manager talk about the history and future of women in IT, some of their personal experiences, and how we can help encourage women in IT. This episode was inspired by the New York Times article “The Secret History of Women in Coding.” https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/13/magazine/women-coding-computer-programming.html Learn more about Dev Technology at www.devtechnology.com
