Women are the backbone of society in Papua New Guinea, but when it comes to who has the power to make big decisions, particularly around resources, it's the men who dominate this space. Women are often excluded, dismissed or told to focus on domestic chores. But more and more organisations are actively working with women to empower them with leadership skills to help address climate change. This week's episode of Sistas, Let's Talk is a repeat of the show broadcast on 2nd October 2025
Richard needs to fade to black…at least for a minute whild Sabrina finishes making a complete fool of herself. Let her go home with what's his name and find out that she is not the girl to be on her best bad behavior. The dress she wore screamed conservated and reserved. Zac's grief, decision making is tap dancing on Fatima's joy. He's shutting her out and all of her efforts are going to waste. Zac is overstepping big time making decisions without her input. “Hello, may I speak to Paul?” Andi is doing too much! The good doctor is looking for a relationship and she walking around like inch high private eye gathering clues. Dr. Cruise should not have the topic of any parts of the conversation on a “date.” What is just a meeting?” Paige knows and the juce and is definitely Maurice's new bestie. They have me falling out the chair. Paige has grown on me. Maurice meets her brother, Dylan. Watch out! And he's a cutie. Toni is trying to get it together. Could he depressed or just undecided on life. Either way, he is getting too close for comfort. Danni is not the girl to be crowding. Hurry up Toni! Make a move before she makes you move. Fatima reveals how she feels to Danni. She said what she said. And Zac heard what he heard.
No this old man who serves no purpose is eating cereal on the sofa! Guards!!!! Get up!!!! And Maurice is going to use his witty advice to help her to make him go. Sabrina is not up for this and she needs to be stopped quickly! Zac has gone back to being the Zac we met in the beginning of the series. It's a bad look and it's going to end badly if he does not get it in check. Fatima is trying to do the right thing forever, and Zac is taking her for granted. However, he is right…the new client is going to be a problem. He is arrogant and it is going to come out very soon. Good for Karen! She has right to feel how she feel, and she needs space. Aaron is the perfect support person…I wonder how long this going to be the case. Dr Von is such a compassionate Doctor. But he did not send the flower, Andi! Gotta be Gary because Robin is on recess until the next time he needs to save the day. Is Danni pushing Toni too hard just a little? I love them together, but we will see. And why is Leonard there other than to irritate the entire world? Lord, Paige likes chocolate! Is Andi hating? She has a point about Zatima toning it down, but Hayden was right there letting her know that he can see that green in her eyes. Oh boy!I wonder if him learning Fatima is pregnant will change their relationship just a little. The ball player neds boundaries, but Zac don't want none. He's too tall and he ain't backing up no time soon.
Sabrina…we are holding you up in prayer girl. Giving it up twice in 24 hours. Day dates. Lunch breaks. And this new Dr.? Trust but always verify!!! He was playing video games at Danni's with Tony. And Sabrina thinks she's in love all over again. Kissing jump offs/ She breaking all the rules! Danni got her settlement. What's next? Bigger apartment or new man? Cause Toni is getting rid of his house. Andi but lay back before Fatima let her know what's really going on. Cut up Fatima! We cheering for you because the sneak dising has to come to a stop…all the way…not half the way. Make her cry! Friendship is off the table all the way. Andi is going to hurt herself trying to pursue the case against the Dr. Let it be and get you a life. Her behavior is just as disappointing as her new haircut. It's not cut…it's chopped. Ok Zac…Chads said he wants Fatima…at least with his actions. And we are watching how he moves. He's throwing shade like Palm trees.
Hayden said, “He said what he said! Sis you are jealous! Hayden is on her head. That's in and that's all. And Andi is pissed and thinking about her behavior deep down inside. I don't believe in kharma. I think life just kinda happens, butttttt Benson is giving her what she is giving to Fatima. He said pumo the brakes, but she is going full throttle with no support. Karen said leave it alone. Benson said back up. Hayden said it sucks to be you, mam. Looks ike she is about to probably lose some more friends…Dr. Von. We will see. Dylan wants him some Maurice…good for him because Q had him messed up in the game. Zac still in the way of making decision on how this baby will be delivered and Fatima is putting her foot down. He is out of line all over the place. Where did Karen go? She thanked the doctor. She finally is acepting and loving on her baby, but she left a note behind and left her phone. Karen is probably going up to the shop top reclaim it because Pam has it in total disarray. I don't think it's anything serious. Suddenly, Zac is best friends with Richard drowning his sorrow in liquor because he's grieving and making a fool out of himself in life. Chads ain't giving up…not sure why he won't let it go. He was instantly attracted to Fatima and shows no regard. And he looks like he's about to choke slam Zac…defintely big enough to handle Zac. The return of Gary! He can't even die right.

When you educate a woman you educate a nation, however, in many parts of the Pacific it's still difficult to access a good education, because of distance, or the cost, or even family obligations. And when parents have to choose whether their sons or daughters will go to school, girls are still missing out.Fortunately, that is changing as more young parents are graduating from high school and university and bringing their knowledge back to their villages and communities. This week Sistas Let's Talk speaks to business and training leader Susil Nelson-Kongoi, education analyst Anne Pakoa and university students Leah Lowonbu and Yuri Hosei about the importance and challenges of keeping girls in school. This week's episode of Sistas, Let's Talk is a repeat of the show broadcast on 7th November 2024

Our Pacific cultures are based on the community – and when it comes to meting out justice, customary law is often recognised within the legal system. This is where the whole family or village takes collective responsibility for an offender's actions and seeks to right the wrong directly with the victim and the victim's family. In fact, it's from these traditions that restorative justice has grown and is now successfully adopted across many parts of the western world. But what happens when it's a violent offence against an individual? And in particular women and children who often don't have a voice?Sistas, Let's Talk explores customary law and asks whether it's appropriate for dealing with sexual and gender-based violence. This week's episode of Sistas, Let's Talk is a repeat of the show broadcast on the 8th August 2024

The urohs – a skirt with intricate embroidery – has cultural and economic significance to the women of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia. This passion is shared by many of us women across the Pacific, whether it's a mu'u mu'u, a meri blouse, a puletasi or an island dress. This clothing was introduced by missionaries for so-called modesty, but since then women have embraced it and made it their own.But as our fashion industry grows, so do the threats.Mass production overseas is creating a new challenge for the urohs, while other parts of the Pacific face the theft of motifs and icons. How do we protect this fashion that's become part of our culture?Hear from Dr Emelihter Kihleng, who did her PhD dissertation on the Pohnpei skirt and her first published collection of poems is entitled Urohs. This week's episode of Sistas, Let's Talk is a repeat of the show broadcast on the 1st August 2024

Welcome back to Let's Try This Again—I'm your host, B Simone, and this episode is one of the most honest, vulnerable, and spiritually charged conversations I've ever had. I'm joined by the incredible Mignon, actress, creative, and all-around powerhouse, as we get real about the journey to self-acceptance, the weight of spiritual warfare, and how success often looks nothing like what we imagined. We open up about body image struggles, generational trauma, and the pressure of living up to expectations—Mignon shares how her journey with weight and self-worth began in childhood, shaped by family and early experiences of trauma, and how she's learned to fight for her confidence and peace in an industry that's quick to judge. We talk about what it means to “fight for everything”—from your health to your purpose—and how sometimes the biggest battles are spiritual, not physical. Mignon shares her story of living out of her car, hustling behind the scenes in Hollywood, and finally landing her breakout role on “Sistas” after years of setbacks, faith, and relentless perseverance. We dive deep into the difference between jealousy and envy, the importance of discernment, and why loving yourself (and others) through pain is the ultimate act of growth. If you've ever felt worn down by life, doubted your calling, or needed a reminder that your story matters, this episode is for you. Tune in for laughter, wisdom, and the kind of motivation that reminds you: you are enough, you are worthy, and you're never alone on this journey.//SPONSORS// Skims: Shop my favorite bras and underwear at SKIMS.comLiquid IV: Squeeze the most out of your Summer with Liquid I.V. PUFAS, MUFAS and LUFAS. No, they're not a new type of cereal or sponge for the shower, these are the types of dietary fats that will either make or break your metabolism. And the key here is where are you getting them from aka what are you eating. Which is Ashley Armstrong's expertise. Not only from a scientific point of view, but because she became a regenerative farmer in order to ensure creating the right fatty acid composition for her animals and the humans that will eventually consume them or their products.Ashley and Sarah Armstrong, also known as the Strong Sistas, are here to help others simplify and implement the foundations of true health. Their goal is to empower individuals to live their best lives, free from being stunted by a diagnosis and the confusion and fear that often accompany it. With firsthand experience, they understand the challenges of feeling lost and afraid, trying every restrictive diet, being prescribed numerous medications, and being told, “this is your new normal,” with no other options, answers, or hope for a positive outcome. Ashley Armstrong received her PhD in Engineering and became a Professor, but during graduate school, she discovered her true passions for nutrition and regenerative agriculture, which led her to build Strong Sistas and start a regenerative farm from scratch. She has overcome numerous health challenges, including amenorrhea (no period for 12 years), autoimmunity, constipation and gut issues, PCOS, severe insomnia, orthorexia, iron overload, hirsutism, self-doubt, and estrogen imbalance.Join us as we explore:How Ashley and her sister almost got caught up in the typical revolving doctor's doors situationWhy Ashley believes deeply in the ancestral diet aka a diet full of saturated fat.A PUFA, a LUFA and why they critically matter to your metabolic health!Linoleic acid, why it's hurting for you, why there is too much in your diet and why despite coming from grains that's NOT the source most people are receiving it from!Is olive oil and omega3 as beneficial and harmless as touted? The scary reality of ruminant bypass dairy modification and field desiccation.Contact: Website - https://www.armstrongsisters.comMentions:Information - The Dirty Dozen, https://www.ewg.org/foodnews/full-list.phpPodcast - Perry Nickelston, https://youtu.be/H_NhrAy6FR8Support the showFollow Steve's socials: Instagram | LinkedIn | YouTube | Facebook | Twitter | TikTokSupport the show on Patreon:As much as we love doing it, there are costs involved and any contribution will allow us to keep going and keep finding the best guests in the world to share their health expertise with you.
