The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Racist Suspect Dr. Nicky Falkof live from Mexico. A White Woman born in South Africa, Dr. Falkof is on an academic/business trip to the western hemisphere, although her research focus investigates Racism in South Africa. A writer and academic based in Johannesburg, Dr. Falkof "works in the Media Studies department at Wits University. Her research is concerned with race and anxiety in the urban global south, with a particular interest in whiteness." Importantly, Dr. Falkof was reared by a black female maid, Joyce Insele. That should be at the center of any White's person discussion about Racism/Whiteness. Gus found Dr. Falkof's report on the rampant concerns about White male homosexuality in S. Africa during the 1980's and 90's when the apartheid system was under intense global scrutiny. Apparently, in an area with a small number of people classified as White, there was grave concern about any White people deviating from what is expected of White Men and White Women. Just like yesterday's White guest (Dr. Mark Neocleous), Dr. Falkof interrupted Gus to insert misinformation. Gus asked Dr. Falkof if non-white people can practice White Supremacy, and she said: yes. Three arrest warrants were issued on Tuesday by authorities in Montgomery, Alabama, relating to the chaotic riverfront brawl that broke out on Saturday during which punches were thrown, people were hit with chairs, and others were thrown into the river. Large brawl in Alabama as people defend Black riverboat worker against white assailants Montgomery police chief Darryl Albert announced on Tuesday that one man is in custody and two others were expected to turn themselves in. Montgomery mayor Steven Reed said none of the three are residents of the city. The three white men named by Montgomery police were Richard Roberts, 48, who faces two charges of assault, Allen Todd, 23, and Zachary Shipman, 25, both facing one charge of assault. Albert also asked that 42-year-old Reggie Gray, who is Black, come in to the police for questioning over allegations that he was violently swinging a chair during the brawl.

An adopted White Woman, Dr. Jackson “is a professor of History at Colorado Mesa University and teaches courses in women's and gender history; the history of sexuality; immigration, race and ethnicity; and other courses focused on Modern U.S. History.” Gus was snooping in the university library and found her recently published work, Scandinavians in Chicago: The Origins of White Privilege in Modern America. Pay close attention to Dr. Jackson's response to being asked if her White adoptive parents are Racist. She was born and raised in a Racially Restricted Region of Michigan that was 98% White. It's non-white people continue to experience White Supremacy/Racism when attempting to reside here. Her Adopted parents told Racist Jokes too. Although I've forgotten exactly how or why I located this book, Dr. Jackson offers fascinating insight on what it means to be classified as White. She details how Whites born outside the US migrated to cities like Chicago and “assimilated” to being White Men and White Women. Specifically, so called Scandinavians benefited from being classified as the best of the White “stock.” Consequently, they were able to construct Racially Restricted Regions, accumulate staggering wealth and power - even beyond many native born Whites, all while maintaining “ethnic” pride for the homeland. I hate to say this, but racism is so deeply ingrained into every fiber of this nation's being that it seems like no matter how hard some of us try, we just can't escape it. And sure enough, it reared its ugly head last night during the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship. Today I'll break it all down, but if you hadn't heard, the basics are this: A star white player for Iowa has talked MAJOR trash all year and been celebrated for it - no matter how brash, crass, or over the top it was. But when a rival player from LSU talked that same brash trash right back to her, white folk simply lost their minds. The double standard was brutal. And it was just a painful reminder that even when we are seeking a form of escapism through sports, that bigotry is just lurking right their beneath the surface. Let me unpack and explain it.
