For the very first time Bulgaria won the competiton with Dara and the song "Bangaranga" receiving a total amount of 516 points combined from Public and Jury Vote. The Radio International Team was on location and had the chance to meet Dara at the Turquoise Carpet but also Johannes was able to meet the singer during the rehearsals for an interview. Also on the show this week Radio International will play back the Eurovision Winner's Media Conference to share with the many fans the happiness and joy that was spread. Full details can be viewed at our friends from Wikipedia - click here The Radio International Photo Album from the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - CLICK HERE Delta Goodrem  (Australia 2026) Interview with Delta Goodrem (Australia 2026): Australia sent to the Eurovision Song Contest one of the biggest artists that the country has - Delta Goodrem. Acting Star in the Soap Opera Neighbours now became a Eurovision Star as well with the song  "Eclipse" coming 4th in the 70th Eurovision Song Contest. Radio International's Johannes had the honour to meet and conduct a short interview with Delta at the Australian Embassy Reception. Hear it on the show this week.  Antigoni (Cyprus 2026) Interview with Antigoni (Cyprus 2026):  The Eurovision 2026 Summer Sound comes from Cyprus performed by Antigoni and is called "Jalla Jalla" coming 19th in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. JP's Radio International bumped into the singer from Cyprus in the Media Centre of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 and of course had his recorder with him to conduct a short interview with the singer. Also this one you can hear on the show this week.      The Eurovision Spotlight: The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - The Assessment:  It is a tradition that Radio International will review the Eurovision Song Contest with the Team Members and talking about the highlights and sharing opinions on the staging of the contest. Meet the final two Stars of Eurovision 2026 this week before Semi Final 2 and the Grand Final.        Søren Torpegaard Lund (Denmark 2026) at LondonHagen 2026, London, United Kingdom   Interview with Søren Torpegaard Lund (Denmark 2026):  Representing Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is Søren Torpegaard Lund who performs the song "Før vi går hjem" in Semi Final 2 at starting position Number 10. Søren won this year's edition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix and with that is Denmark's Hopeful at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna. He will perform on Thursday 14 May 2026 in der Wiener Stadthalle. Radio International's JP and Salman met the singer at the recent edition of LondonHagen 2026 on 17 Apr 2026 and conducted an in-depth interview with Søren which will be broadcast on Radio International this week. Also Søren's manager was with him at the event and can be heard on the interview. It is no other than the former lead singer of A Friend in London who represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany with the song "A New Tomorrow".   Leléka (Ukraine 2026) at LondonHagen 2026, London, United Kingdom   Interview with Leléka (Ukraine 2026): The Musical Ambassador from Ukraine in 2026 is Leléka who will be presenting the Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria. Leléka will be performing on position Number 12 in the Second Semi Final with the song  "Ridnym". Radio International's JP and Salman met the young singer at LondonHagen 206 on Friday, 17 Apr 2026 for an indepth interview. Meet more Stars of Eurovision 2026 this week.     Bzikebi (Georgia 2026) with JP at Eurovision in Concert 2026 in Amsterdam   Interview with Bzikebi (Georgia 2026):  It was in 2008 when the seeds wee planted as group Bzikebi were created out of Georgi and two ladies both called Miriam as little wasps not only representing Georgia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 but also winning the contest with the song "Bzzzz". Now 18 years on the three members have grown and once again will represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "On Replay".  Radio International's JP had the big pleasure meeting the three once again at the recent edition of the Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam. Listen to the interview on the show this week.        Felicia (Sweden 2026) with JP at the London Preview Event 2026 Interview with Felicia (Sweden 2026): The Winner of Sweden's Melodifestivalen 2026 will automatically also represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. Sweden together with Ireland are the most successful countries winning the Eurovision Song Contest with seven victories to boot. Will Felicia be able to snatch the eighth victory for Sweden at this year's Eurovision Song Contest?  Felicia will be performing the song "My System" in Semi Final 1 at Song Number 2. Radio International's JP and Salman met and did a catch-up interview with Felicia at the recent edition of the London Preview Event 2026 on 19 Apr 2026. Listen to the interview on the show week.    Alicja (Poland 2026) with JP at the London Preview Event 2026 Interview with Alicja (Poland 2026): In 2020 when the Eurovision Song Contest was canceled by the EBU due to the Corona Pandemic hitting the globe Alicja had already won her national final in Poland before the Covid outbreak. At that time Alicja Szemplińska she won the national final with the song "Empires". In 2023, Alicja attempted again to get the ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "New Home" coming 6th in the Polish National Final.  At long last in 2026 Alicja was chosen to represent Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Pray". It will be competing in Semi Final 1 Song Number 14. Radio International's JP and Salman had the pleasure to meet and interview Alicja at  the London Preview Event 2026. Enjoy meeting Alicja once again on the show this week.      Alexandra Capitanescu (Romania 2026) with JP at the London Preview Event 2026, London, United Kingdom   Interview with Alexandra Capitanescu (Romania 2026):  Romania took a couple of years break before deciding to return to the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with Alexandra Capitanescu and her group to represent Romania with the song "Choke Me" which will be performed in Semi Final 2 at Song Number 3 which will be on Thursday 14 May 2026. Radio International's JP and Salman met the delegation at the London Preview Party and conducted an interview. Get to know Alexandra and the group in this week's edition of Radio International.  Eurovision Song Contest 2026 - Semi Final 1: This is the final edition of Radio International before the Team will be heading out to Vienna, Austria - Home of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 and in view of  Semi Final 1 of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 to be staged on Tuesday, 12 May 2026, Radio International will be playing all the songs competing in Semi Final 1 in full in the order as they will be performed during the live show on Tuesday including interviews mentioned above.      Boggie (Hungary 2015) in 2026 Interview with Boggie (Hungary 2015):  It was in 2015 when the Eurovision Song Contest came from the very same venue where the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be staged - the Wiener Stadthalle. Back then Hungary was represented by Boggie with the song "Wars for nothing" which made it from the Semi Final into the Grand Final were it ended up at Number 20. Boggie has been busy over the years creating and writing new songs and has recently released a brand new album from wich she lifted her brand new song entitled "Ce Reve".  Radio International's John Dawton interviewed Boggie and you can hear this interview on the show this week plus of course her Eurovision entry 2015 and "Ce reve". Over the last weeks Radio International reviewed all the 35 songs per geographical regions and just ahead of the Radio International Team is heading out to Vienna Alasdair Rendall had the idea to look at the Runners Up from the top countries in the betting that had national finals in their countries. Now 18 years on the three members have grown and once again will represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "On Replay".  Radio International's JP had the big pleasure meeting the three once again at the recent edition of the Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam. In 2026, with a slightly different composition of the group, Vanilla Ninja won the national Final in ESTONIA called Eesti Laul and will once again go to the Eurovision Song Contest but representing Estonia with the song "Too epic to be true" in Semi Final 1 Song Number 9. At that time Alicja Szemplińska she won the national final with the song "Empires". In 2023, Alicja attempted again to get the ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "New Home" coming 6th in the Polish National Final.  At long last in 2026 Alicja was chosen to represent Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Pray". Nathan Psaila competed again in the Malta Eurovision for the third time with the song "Ganador" reaching 9th place in the Grand Final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. The first Pre-Parties have started and members of the Radio International Team were on location in Stockholm at the MelFstWknd 2026 and conducted interviews with the first Eurovision entrants for 2026 and they are: Alis (Albania 2026), Atvara (Latvia) and Tamara Živković (Montenegro 2026). Alis will be representing Albania in the Second Semi Final in the Second Half with the song "Nan" and Atvara will be representing Latvia with the song "Ena" in the Second Semi Final Second Half while Tamara Živković will be representing Montenegro with the song "Nova Zora". Listen to the interview clips on the show this week.  MelFstWknd 2026 Allstars  (Atvara, Jacqline, Alis, Tamara and Dolly Style) MelFstWknd 2026: The event took place on Friday and Saturday 06 and 07 Mar 2026 in the CLub Nalen in Stockholm where artists from Melodifestivalen as well as Eurovision artists 2026. Futher to the above listed artists participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 listen to interview clips with Dolly Style and Jacqline. Dolly Style took part at Melodifestivalen a few times lastly in 2025 with the song "Yiha" that made it to the Grand Final and Jacqline debuted in 2024 with "Effortless" reaching the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen. She returned to the contest in 2026 with the song "Woman" but did not advance out of the Heat.     Melodifestivalen 2026:  Melodifestivalen 2026 was won  by Felicia with the song "My System" with which she will be representing Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Semi Final 1 First Half in the middle of May. Radio International was at three of the Heats meeting and interviewing the artists. This is the final interview in the current series of Melodifestivalen 2026.     Felix Manu at Melodifestivalen 2026 - Heat 4 Interview with Felix Manu:  Also a debutant at Melodifestivalen 2026 is Felix Manu who competed in Heat 4 with the song "Hatar att jag älskar dig" coming 4th after the second round of voting which unfortunately did not advance him any further in the competition. JP from Radio International and Tanja from Swedish ESCPANELEN also had the pleasure in meeting and interviewing the young singer at the Artists' Hotel near the Malmö Arena. Congratulations go to Jasmine Abela who won Muzika Muzika 2026 with the song "Nistaqsi (I ask)" written by Philip Vella and Glen Vella who won the very first edition of Muzika Muzika in 2021. Radio International's JP was in Malta and conducted an interview with the Winner Jasmine which you hear on the show this week. See below the Muzika Muzika 2026 Scoreboard for the results. Malta's Muzika Muzika 2026 Scoreboard         Melodifestivalen 2026:  Melodifestivalen 2026 was won  by Felicia with the song "My System" with which she will be representing Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Semi Final 1 First Half in the middle of May. Radio International was at three of the Heats meeting and interviewing the artists. Almost all interviews were broadcast on Radio International but two and those will be on the show this and next week.     Cimberly at Melodifestivalen 2026 with   "Eternity" (Number 6)   Interview with Cimberly:  A debutant at Melodifestivalen 2026 with the song "Eternity" is Cimberly what won Swedish Idol in 2023. Cimberly's entry made it out of the 3888 songs sent into the Swedish Broadcaster SVT into the Top 30 songs which then were distributed into the five heats. Cimberly performed her song in Heat 4 out of Malmö where she was the second act to make it directly to the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026 after Smash Into Pieces coming 6th in the Grand Final. With this Felicia will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Semi Final 1 in the First Half.   Melodifestivalen 2026 - The results For the Photo Album of Melodifestivalen 2026 please - click here.   Sanna Nielsen (Melodifestivalen 2026) Interview with Sanna Nielsen (Melodifestivalen 2026:  It is Sanna's eights participation in Melodifestivalen having won it once in 204 with the song "Undo" which came 3rd at the Eurovision Song Contest from Copenhagen's Shipyard. In the meantime Sanna Nielsen has become mother but also has been hosting a number of years Sweden's most popular Summer Sing-a-long shows "Allsang pa Skansen". 2026 marks Sanna's 30 years in the show business in Sweden and to celebrate that she entered Melodiestivalen 2026 with the song "Waste your love" which came 10th in the Grand Final of the Swedish National Final.        Smash Into Pieces (Melodifestivalen 2026)   Interview with Smash Into Pieces (Melodifestivalen 2026):  It was the group's third participation in Melodifestivalen 2026 with the song "Hollow" which came 4th in the competition compared to their previous two entries where they came third on both occasions with "Six Feet Under" in 2023 and in 2024 it was with "Heroes are calling". In 2026, Smash into Pieces participated in Heat 4 and made it to the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen. Radio International had the pleasure to meet the Group at their hotel for an interview which you can hear on the show this week.      Meira Omar with JP (after the Melodifestivalen 2026 Grand Final)   Interview with Meira Omar (Melodifestivalen 2026): One of the nicest performances in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026 is the one from Meira Omar and her dancers in the song "Dooset Daram" which came 9th in the competition. Meira already took part in Melodifestivalen 2025 with the song "Hush Hush" coming 10th and returned to the competition in 2026 into Heat 4 via the FinalKval into the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2026. The Team of Radio International had the pleasure to meet and interview Meira at the Media Conference which you can hear on the show this week.    Timo Räisänen (Melodifestivalen 2026 - Heat 4)     Interview with Timo Räisänen (Melodifestivalen 2026, Heat 4):  Debuting at Melodifestivalen 2026 was Timo Räisänen with the song "Ingenting är efter oss" which ended up 4th in Heat 4. JJ won Eurovision 2025 and with that Austria will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in the Wiener Stadthalle on 12 and 14 May 2026 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Finale to take place on Saturday, 16 May 2026. Cimberly and her song "Eternity" won the second round of voting and also has won and secured herself a place in the Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 20026 in the Strawberry Arena of Stockholm, Solna. The favourite to also win the Heat was Meira Omar with the song "Dooset Daram" came third and is with that in the Final Kval round of the competition and has a chance to advance into the Grand Final after Heat 5. Eurovision Host 2025 Hazel Brugger and Germany's regular National Final Host Barbara Schoeneberger will be presenting the acts from a studio in Berlin with a live audience. Previously on Radio International we heard already the interview with Laura Thorn who represented Luxembourg at the eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "La poupée monte le son" coming 22nd in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Cesar Sampson represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 coming third with "Nobody but you".  Another artist from the Eurovision 2025 was Klemen who represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "How much time do we have left" sadly not making it out of his Semi Final.  Then from the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, Jonatan Cerrada represented, as a Belgian, France at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "A chaque pas" coming 15th.     This week on Radio International is very proud to broadcast the interview done with Jonatan Cerrada.      The Eurovision Spotlight - The Eurovision National Final Season:  The New Eurovision Year 2026 has started and with that also the National Final Season for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is in full swing with countries selecting their entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. JJ won Eurovision 2025 and with that Austria will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in the Wiener Stadthalle on 12 and 14 May 2026 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Finale to take place on Saturday, 16 May 2026. Until the end of March 2026 the National Final Season for Eurovision 2026 is on and Radio International's team members will be highlighting the best picks of the national finals. Sadly, the Eurovision Commnity lost Dr. Bernd Meinunger on 17 Oct 2025 at the age of 81. However, on the 30 Sep 2025 Ralph Siegel celebrated his 80th Birthday in a big party in Munich with the participation of many prominent people such as showmasters, as well as artists that Ralph wrote successful songs for. All in all Ralph created over 2000 songs out of which 24 where entries to the Eurovision Song Contest, but not only for Germany. Radio International's Salman was invited by Ralph Siegel for the festivities in Munich which triggered to produce a radio special about his greatest songs including all his Eurovison entries and entries in national finals around Europe he took part in as composer and songwriter. Our very first guest of the National Final Season for Eurovision 2026 will be Djurdja. Her entry is entitled "Dominos" and is penned by a number of songwriters well known in the world of the Eurovision Song Contest: David Lindgren Zacharias, Melanie Wehbe, Patrik Jean, Herman Gardarfve and Eric Lehmann. The Interview Team of Radio International will be thrilled to have Djurdja on the show.       The Eurovision Spotlight - The history of Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest:  It is time for the traditional look at the next host country's Eurovision Song Contest entries. JJ won Eurovision 2025 and with that Austria will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in the Wiener Stadthalle on 12 and 14 May 2026 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Finale to take place on Saturday, 16 May 2026. In the running order: Malta, Azerbaijan, Croatia, San Marino, Armenia, Ukraine, Ireland, The Netherlands, Poland, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Georgia, Cyprus, France and Albania.  Returning countries are Azerbaijan, Croatia and Montenegro while Estonia and Germany are taking a break. The Hosts of the show are David Aladashvili and Liza Tsiklauri. The show starts at 1700 hours CET. Last week on Radio International we heard already the interview with Laura Thorn who represented Luxembourg at the eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "La poupée monte le son" coming 22nd in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Another artist from the Eurovision 2025 was Klemen who represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "How much time do we have left" sadly not making it out of his Semi Final.  Then from the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, Jonatan Cerrada represented, as a Belgian, France at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "A chaque pas" coming 15th.   And Cesar Sampson represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 coming third with "Nobody but you".    This week on Radio International enjoy the interview and a catch-up with Cesar Sampson from Austria.
