The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026 was hosted hosted by Keane Cutajar, Destiny Chukunyere (who won Junior Eurovision 2015 and represented Malta in Eurovision 2021) and Gaia Cauchi (who won Junior Eurovision 2013). Sadly, the Eurovision Commnity lost Dr. Bernd Meinunger on 17 Oct 2025 at the age of 81. However, on the 30 Sep 2025 Ralph Siegel celebrated his 80th Birthday in a big party in Munich with the participation of many prominent people such as showmasters, as well as artists that Ralph wrote successful songs for. All in all Ralph created over 2000 songs out of which 24 where entries to the Eurovision Song Contest, but not only for Germany. Radio International's Salman was invited by Ralph Siegel for the festivities in Munich which triggered to produce a radio special about his greatest songs including all his Eurovison entries and entries in national finals around Europe he took part in as composer and songwriter. Last week on Radio International we heard already the interview with Laura Thorn who represented Luxembourg at the eurovision Song Contest 2025 with the song "La poupée monte le son" coming 22nd in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The Kessler Twins represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 1959 with the song "Heute abend wollen wir tanzen gehen" which came 9th. Bernd Meinunger was a song producer and lyricist and had successes with 18 of his creations in the Eurovision Song Contest including Germany's first winning song performed by Nicole entitled "Ein bisschen Frieden" at the Eurovision Song Contest 1982. The lyrics were written by Bernd Meinunger and Ralph Siegel wrote the music. All in all Bernd Meinunger wrote about 5500 songs from the the 1970s until 2025. Sadly, he passed away on 17 Oct 2025. Kantera are a very successful Maltese Band with great results in the Muzika Muzika competition which celebrates the Maltese Song. The song Kantera competed with in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is called "Lalaratatakeke lalaratakabum " and succsessfully qualified from Semi Final 2 to the Grand Final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 where at the end of the Voting Sequence ended up at Number 3.    Krista Sujak (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025) with JP The second artist from the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 we feature on Radio International this week is Krista Sujak who is also a newcomer to the contest. Krista competed with the song entitled "Unheard" and qualified from Semi Final 2 to the Grand Final.  At the end of the Voting Sequence Krista's entry ranked at Number 7  in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025. Inge represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 1967 with the song "Anouschka" reaching Number 8. The contest was won by the United Kingdom's Sandi Shaw and "Puppet on a string". Miriana successfully placed Malta in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest ranking 17th at the end of the voting sequence.   Earlier on in February 2025, Radio International conducted interviews with all the contestants at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 and more. This week, Radio International will broadcast an interview with Martina Borg who took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
