"O que me deixa orgulhosa é ver o resultado final do trabalho." Hoje, a situação é outra: "No fim do dia, nós fizemos alguma coisa, é concreto", ele diz.

In 1971, in a psychedelic awakening through the guidance of Ram Dass' book Be Here Now, Allyson heard a voice calling her to express in her art an essentialized world view. Chaos, Order & Secret Writing came to artistically symbolize the three essential characteristics of human perception, a minimal yet all-encompassing artistic statement worthy of immersion for a lifetime. Here's my interview with Keiichi Matsuda, Designer and Director of Liquid City, that was conducted on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Augmented World Expo in Long Beach, CA. In the introduction, I read through Matsuda's essay titled "Gods" (also uploaded here) where he explores the idea that AI should be more like pets and polytheistic and animistic familiars rather than the more monotheistic approach where there's one true AI God represented by one of Big Tech's omniscient and all-powerful AI systems. This approach has lead Matsuda to developing a system of what he calls "parabrains" that is an interface for AI agents that goes beyond the narrative scripting capabilities that he was exploring in inworld.ai with his project MeetWol that I covered previously at AWE 2023. A lot of Matsuda's ideas were also explored in the speculative fiction short film called Agents that was produced in collaboration with what was a the time Niantic Labs and is now Niantic Spatial (check out my interview with Niantic Spatial at AWE 2025 for more on how they're using Matsuda's Parabrains system). And you can also see more context in the rough transcript below. This is episode #41 of 41 of my AWE Past and Present series totaling 24.5 hours. Hour 3 of "Baskin and Phelps" for Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Well, my brilliant idea to title this episode, "Part Two: Elliott Takes the Red Pill (He's a neo-n#zi now)" did not go according to plan. Why? Two words. Steve. Zaragoza. Happy. Birthday. That's four words, but still. It was Steve's birthday so he took the weekend off, which kept us from talking about our insane experience watching the Matrix. So in honor of Steve's birthday, I've decided to publicly slander him. We love you Steve, regardless of your political views! And good morning to you, all! This is part one of a two-part series centered on a new Los Angeles attraction: COSM. No, not QUASM. That's different, but both are filled with splendor. I know I'm still feeling that splendor today, after having witnessed what Steve loved so very much. So get ready for next week when we unveil Part Two of this series, "Elliott Takes the Red Pill (he became alt-right largely due to the unbridled dominance of monopolistic tech companies whose algorithms act as emotion harvesters until subjectivity becomes little more than an onslaught of cattle prods)."
