Tom Cosm is an electronic musician, Ableton Certified Trainer, and the technical co-founder of Telepathic Instruments. Widely known for his early Ableton Live tutorials and inventive use of hacked gear, Tom has built a reputation as a true audio mad scientist—transforming data, brainwaves, and even bugs into expressive sound. In this conversation, Tom shares his journey from early YouTube educator to the co-creator of Orchid, a new instrument, dreamt up by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, built to spark musical ideas with immediacy and joy. We explore the evolution of his creative philosophy, how tools can invite spontaneity, and what he's learned about music (and life) by building instruments from scratch. Listen on Apple, Spotify, YouTube Takeaways: From YouTube to Orchid - Tom's journey started with early Ableton tutorials on YouTube and led to co-creating Orchid—a creative "ideas machine" that helps musicians quickly generate complex chord progressions. Music in Everything - Whether converting brainwaves, weather data, or the movement of a spider into sound, Tom finds musicality in everyday patterns and natural systems. Designing for Play - Tom emphasizes having fun while making music. Orchid was intentionally built without a screen to encourage tactile exploration and playful interactions. Community-Driven Development - Community has been a constant factor in Tom's work and continues through community-feedback on Orchid. Making Time for Music Again - After years focused on building hardware, Tom is excited to return to making music—starting with 80 unfinished tracks and a fresh wave of curiosity. Newsletter: https://ecosistemaecommerce.com/newsletter/Web: https://ecosistemaecommerce.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/javierlopezrod/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/people/Ecosistema-Ecommerce/61550625909016/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ecosistemaecommTik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ecosistemaecommerceInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ecosistemaecommerce/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE2zroaDzTVZRwNOh5Ma9cg

"O que me deixa orgulhosa é ver o resultado final do trabalho." Hoje, a situação é outra: "No fim do dia, nós fizemos alguma coisa, é concreto", ele diz.

Alex Grey is an American visual artist, author, teacher, and Vajrayana practitioner known for creating spiritual and psychedelic artwork such as his 21-painting Sacred Mirrors series. He works in multiple forms including performance art, process art, installation art, sculpture, visionary art, and painting. He is also on the board of advisors for the Center for Cognitive Liberty and Ethics, and is the Chair of Wisdom University's Sacred Art Department. He and his wife Allyson Grey are the co-founders of The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM), a non-profit organization in Wappingers Falls, New York.Allyson Grey, a conceptual abstract painter and co-founder of CoSM, Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, has long been a mentor and influencer of the contemporary Visionary Art movement. In 1971, in a psychedelic awakening through the guidance of Ram Dass' book Be Here Now, Allyson heard a voice calling her to express in her art an essentialized world view. Chaos, Order & Secret Writing came to artistically symbolize the three essential characteristics of human perception, a minimal yet all-encompassing artistic statement worthy of immersion for a lifetime. Allyson's art is a personal and shared meditation on the structure of thought, life and enlightenment.Episode Highlights▶ The origin story of the Sacred Mirrors and the creation of CoSM▶ How LSD catalyzed Alex and Allyson's personal and spiritual awakening▶ Why creativity is a spiritual practice and a gateway to soul's purpose▶ The transformative power of psychedelics on healing and self-awareness▶ Why staying creative every day is key to manifesting your soul's work▶ Art as evidence of your inner vision and a path to service▶ The role of intention, commitment, and patience in creative fulfillment▶ Creativity as essential medicine for a disconnected society▶ Psychedelics and relationships: how shared experiences deepen intimacy▶ The future of CoSM and the long-awaited opening of EntheonAllyson & Alex Grey's Links & Resources▶ Allyson and Alex Grey / CoSM: https://www.cosm.org/▶ Alex Grey's website: https://www.alexgrey.com/▶ Allyson Grey's website: https://www.allysongrey.com▶ CoSM YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZVxulrA3TWY1_WSeFD3eGg Download Beth's free trainings here: Clarity to Clients: Start & Grow a Transformational Coaching, Healing, Spiritual, or Psychedelic Business: https://bethaweinstein.com/grow-your-spiritual-businessIntegrating Psychedelics & Sacred Medicines Into Business: https://bethaweinstein.com/psychedelics-in-business▶ Beth's Coaching & Guidance: https://bethaweinstein.com/coaching ▶ Beth's Offerings & Courses: https://bethaweinstein.com/services▶ Instagram: @bethaweinstein ▶ FB: / bethw.nyc + bethweinsteinbiz ▶ Join the free Psychedelics & Purpose Community: / psychedelicsandsacredmedicines

Here's my interview with Keiichi Matsuda, Designer and Director of Liquid City, that was conducted on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Augmented World Expo in Long Beach, CA. In the introduction, I read through Matsuda's essay titled "Gods" (also uploaded here) where he explores the idea that AI should be more like pets and polytheistic and animistic familiars rather than the more monotheistic approach where there's one true AI God represented by one of Big Tech's omniscient and all-powerful AI systems. This approach has lead Matsuda to developing a system of what he calls "parabrains" that is an interface for AI agents that goes beyond the narrative scripting capabilities that he was exploring in inworld.ai with his project MeetWol that I covered previously at AWE 2023. A lot of Matsuda's ideas were also explored in the speculative fiction short film called Agents that was produced in collaboration with what was a the time Niantic Labs and is now Niantic Spatial (check out my interview with Niantic Spatial at AWE 2025 for more on how they're using Matsuda's Parabrains system). And you can also see more context in the rough transcript below. This is episode #41 of 41 of my AWE Past and Present series totaling 24.5 hours. You can see a list of all of the interviews down below: #1590: AWE Past and Present: Ori Inbar on the Founding of Augmented World Expo to Cultivate the XR Community #1591: Sonya Haskins' Journey to Head of Programming at Augmented World Expo #1592: Highlights of AWE 2025 from Head of Programming Sonya Haskins #1593: From Military to Enterprise VR Training with Mass Virtual on Spatial Learning #1594: Part 1: Rylan Pozniak-Daniels' Journey into XR Development (2019) #1595: Part 2: Rylan Pozniak-Daniels' Journey into XR Development (2025) #1596: Engage XR's Virtual Concert as Experiential Advertising for their Immersive Learning Platform (2023) #1597: Educator Vasilisa Glauser on Using VR for Twice Exceptional Students #1598: Part 1: Immersive Data Visualization with BadVR's Suzanne Borders (2018) #1599: Part 2: Immersive Data Visualization with BadVR's Suzanne Borders (2021) #1600: Part 1: Jason Marsh on Telling Data Stories with Flow Immersive (2018) #1601: Part 2: Jason Marsh on Telling Data Stories with Flow Immersive (2019) #1602: Part 3: Jason Marsh on Telling Data Stories with Flow Immersive (2025) #1603: Spatial Analytics with Cognitive3D's Tony Bevilacqua (2023) #1604: Investing in Female Founders with WXR Fund's Amy LaMeyer + Immersive Music Highlights (2019) #1605: Rapid Prototyping in VR with ShapesXR + 2021 Launch with CEO Inga Petryaevskaya #1606: Weekly Meetups in VR with XR Women Founder Karen Alexander #1607: 2023 XR Women Innovation Award Winner Deirdre V. Well, my brilliant idea to title this episode, "Part Two: Elliott Takes the Red Pill (He's a neo-n#zi now)" did not go according to plan. Why? Two words. Steve. Zaragoza. Happy. Birthday. That's four words, but still. It was Steve's birthday so he took the weekend off, which kept us from talking about our insane experience watching the Matrix. So in honor of Steve's birthday, I've decided to publicly slander him. We love you Steve, regardless of your political views!
