Doug Kaufmann, the host of the popular TV show, Know The Cause, he became interested in the subject of fungus as it pertains to disease while working in the area of food allergy. Doug was a U.S. Navy Medical Corpsman attached to the 7th Marine Division in 1970. Upon coming home from Vietnam in 1971, he had strange symptoms that until the early 1980’s, he thought were related to food allergies. A research paper in 1980 entitled “Antigenically Intact Food Macromolecules Exiting The Gut Lumen” offered insight into the role of the terrain of the intestines in food allergies. As long as the intestines leaked, which is not uncommon, food allergies tend to change as the diet changed. After studying the reason that foods were able to leak through the intestines, Doug saw the role of fungus in provoking both symptoms and diseases. As it turned out, whether it was yeast in alcoholic beverages, mold by-products of medications like commonly taken antibiotics, or mere fungi like mushrooms, a link to illness, unknown to physicians, became apparent.

Medicine is a huge business and its basis is women!" So I open this podcast questioning the need for medical testing and intervention. I try to avoid doctors offices, but I understand that some men do not. Women, on the other hand, are told that they must go to doctors often. And so it is that Kyle Drew and I, who have absolutely no right to be talking about women's health issues, take on this sensitive subject. Just so you know, I believe early cancer screenings are responsible for far too much over diagnosis and over treating. A few years ago, the Chief Medical Officer of the Cancer Society, Otis Brawley, MD, stated, "We don't want people to panic, but I'm admitting that American medicine has overpraised when it comes to screening, The advantages of screening have been exaggerated. There are two things that I believe make competent physicians; being sick and recovering without pharmaceutical drugs, or learning about fungal mycotoxins and the role they play in most diseases that we patients suffer from. In this podcast, we have two physicians who represent both. I've known Dr Trowbridge for decades and met Dr Mitchell perhaps 15 years ago....tthese are longtime friends and I dare to say, they are trendsetters because they know what I learned after returning home form the Vietnam War...I was sick and totally without hope because no doctor understood and no drug would enable my recovery. I was on my own. Thanks to Dr Mitchell and Dr Trowbridge, we are no longer on our own. To diet, or not to diet, THAT is the question! 45 years ago, I began my career and have learned quite a bit about food. For example, I can now say without hesitation that food can by your best friend or your worst enemy, depending upon which food you choose. The problem is, our healers generally don't have a clue about what helps us heal, unless it's scribbled on a prescription pad. In my humbled opinion, that spells disaster. Is exercise absolutely necessary? In a college course I took 45 years ago called Anatomy and Physiology, the professor had one last question on our final exams. Mind you, this is a 12 month course, so ever correct answer counted. He asked, "summarize what you learned this year about the human body in two words only." My answer was typical for a 22 year old know-it-all. I said, "it's cool!" The correct answer was "it moves!" If exercise is defined as simply moving, then every living human exercises daily. But to enjoy good health, I've learned that regular exercise, beyond simply moving, is essential. There isn't a diet or supplement that will negate the need for exercise, nor does exercise negate the need for proper diet and supplementation, but together I have found that the three of these (diet, exercise and supplements) often negate the need for medication. And that is reason enough for me to bring you this important podcast...listen, learn and enjoy as Kyle Drew and I talk about exercise!

I'll never forget my interview with Dr. Ed Melman and Dawn Strom a few years ago on the damage that breast implants can sometimes cause. Afterward that interview, I wished that there was a safer way for women who wanted breast implants to accomplish getting them without such horrific side effects. When I first spoke to Todd K Malan, MD, a few weeks ago, I knew that like Edward Melmed, MD, I needed to get you this important information also. Dr Dennis Hooper With Doug Kaufmann He is the medical director of Real Time Lab in Richardson, Texas, a lab that specializes in fungus and mycotoxin testing. Mycotoxins are harmful fungal poisons that are emitted from a variety of fungi species like Candida or Aspergillus. He expounds on how we've known that our food supply is commonly contaminated, with these potentially dangerous mycotoxins, yet the medical community isn't proactively screening for them. Dr. Dennis Hooper explains the process of getting these tests done, and what you need to know about getting these tests done on your blood or tissues. Dr. Hooper also addresses the important question "Is my medical insurance going to cover this type of test?".

I first met Leilani about 20 years ago. She had become very outspoken on women's natural health choices and actually put her money where her mouth was by opening a clinic in Dallas, specifically aimed at helping women make those choices. We were all saddened when she lost her best friend and husband, David a few years ago. I hadn't heard from Leilani for awhile, but when she called a few weeks ago and introduced me to her new woman's book SHE....I was so thrilled to hear her voice! She knows so much about natural menopause approaches and using thermograms vs. mammograms and so much more. Years ago, she spoke eloquently and authoritatively on television and every woman watching felt a connection with her. She is back! Please join me in welcoming Leilani back to Know The Cause. Stem Cells - with Mukesh Saraiya, MD - Episode 17

Mukesh Saraiya, MD, is board certified in both internal and pulmonary medicine. For several years he has helped many patients suffering from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and other lung problems by injecting them with their own immature stem cells after carefully harvesting them from their bone marrow and fat cells. The very fact that we all have these “reserve” stem cells that can not only travel to where they are needed after injection, but actually adapt and grow and renew tissues (thereby often stopping symptoms) where they are not working properly, absolutely amazes me. But that, and the fact that he is a brilliant and very kind man, is only my secondary reason for welcoming Dr Saraiya to this KTC podcast! You know that I believe that many of our diseases are due to bugs-fungus specifically. Our immune systems are supposed to eradicate bugs in our blood stream and other tissues by having our white blood cells “phagocytizing” them (gobbling them up like the old arcade game Pacman). As I have reported, certain disease causing fungi outsmart phagocytosis by fooling it in favor of the fungus’s continuous growth throughout our body. That seems bizarre, but it happens nonetheless. What if the white blood cells ability to gobble up fungus was renewed? Some medical reports indicate that stem cells tend to enhance our natural phagocytosis, so not only do they correct what might be wrong with the patient (arthritis, lung problems, etc…), but in doing so, they might begin enabling our white blood cells to gobble up the very disease causing fungus that might have caused the problem. Maybe, just maybe, that is how stem cell injections help so many! Joining me on this podcast with Dr Saraiya is Kyle Drew. Kyle and I have been impressed with the ability of stem cells to fix what ails us for many years, so I invited him to join us in this fascinating discussion. Now, open your ear canals and your mind…

Do you believe that if you eat correctly and pray regularly you can recover from illness? YES? Then you've landed at the perfect podcast because my guest today, Erin Porter did just that to recover from decades of bad health! To say that I enjoyed meeting Erin is an understatement, because some of you have pointed me to her incredible website, www.eatpraygetwell.com, in which she talks about finding Know The Cause on TV and the discovery was life changing. In fact, so many wonderful people dedicate segments of their social media platforms or websites to the fungus link and give me credit for their health restoration and that makes me feel so good! Thank you Erin and thank you all! Please listen carefully. No little girl should be relegated to a lifetime of serious health problems, including an estimated 100+ rounds of antibiotics (docs, if 3 rounds don't do the trick, stop thinking "bacteria!") and 4 sinus surgeries, yet thousands are living this way because our ENT doctors never read the 1999 landmark study from The Mayo Clinic that implicated fungus in over 90% of all chronic sinus infections....NOT BACTERIA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Erin found her way out and shares this interesting story with us......

Naturally, toward the end of this podcast, we address how Emma takes to making friends with one of their food-supply animals and then having to sacrifice it to eat! She is smooth in her response-much more so than I would be! Nobody eats Charlie chicken! One thing that I love addressing with Dr Emerson is the fact that mold and fungus play such a large role in him medical practice, whereas before we met, it was of minimal importance. Sit back, relax and enjoy as you learn of yet another physician (and Emma!) who "sees the light" of mold related diseases!

It used to be very rare that a physician would contact me and desire more information on "the fungus link" to disease. Today, it is not rare at all for physicians to contact me and want to learn more. One such physician, Greg Emerson, MD of Brisbane, Australia, knew inherently that fungus played a role in his patients ill health, but my website, with all of the scientific papers on it (thanks, Dr. Curtis!!!) convinced him to contact me. That was a few years ago and he has visited our TV production facility in TX annually to update us on what he continues to learn from his studies abroad! In this podcast, Dr Emerson delves into a recent visit to Sedona, AZ and the contact he made there. He then teaches us about something that I was honestly ignorant of until this conversation; brown fat! Funny, but these podcasts open my eyes incredibly!
