Do you want to overcome the childhood trauma wounds and obstacles that are holding you back? Is the impact of childhood trauma keeping you from confidently living the life God wants you to live? Does your trauma history keep you crippled by fear, yet you want to learn to trust others, trust God’s plan, process, and purpose for your life instead? The effects of childhood trauma can show up as low moods, negative thoughts, overthinking, anxiety, crippling fear, low self-worth, physical illness, constant comparison, or emotional disconnection. I’ve been there. Hey sister-friend 👋🽠Welcome to the Shades of Trauma Healing Podcast. A space for Christian women of all beautiful shades to experience trauma healing and begin fully living the life God is calling them to live. I’m so glad you’re here 😊 I’m Jenniel, a dearly loved daughter of God, trauma thriver, trauma therapist, and life coach, living out my purpose. As a child, I faced traumatic experiences, and the impact of my trauma remained unaddressed for years. I struggled through life, feeling stuck, unsafe, sensitive to threats of danger, and emotionally disconnected from God and the people around me. I tried to control situations as much as possible because I wanted to feel safe. I desperately wanted to know and live out my purpose but had difficulty hearing God and figuring it out. I pursued education, career goals, ministry, and travelled, trying to find my place and call in this world. I thought had to do more things, but no matter what I did, I still felt unsure of who I was and what I was meant to do. I finally realized that the key to becoming who God wanted me to be started with facing my trauma wounds and pursuing holistic healing so I could remove the obstacles that prevented me from hearing God and experiencing life fully. As I healed from the emotional and somatic impacts of childhood trauma, my relationship with God improved, and I gained clarity about who I am and who God wanted me to be. I began to thrive. Today, I’m the most emotionally and spiritually healthy version of myself. I’m embracing more joy and laughter, and I’m living God’s call on my life as I walk in relationship with him. If you want to overcome the childhood trauma wounds that are holding you back… If you want to develop your ability to trust God and begin thriving in the life he is calling you to live… This podcast is for you. Here you’ll receive trauma education to help identify and address the impacts of childhood trauma that keep you stuck. I’ll share mindset strategies and relational tips to help you develop your connection with others. There’ll be spiritual applications to help you deepen your trust and connection with God so you can gain clarity and discernment, as well as motivational stories for you to see that you can heal and thrive after childhood trauma. My healing journey involved recognizing the emotional, spiritual, social, and neurological wounds caused by trauma. I started a healing journey to address each area, and this resulted in freedom like I’ve never known. And I’m ready to share what I learned and experienced with you! We will approach trauma healing while walking together with God, The One who loves you most and wants you to heal and live an abundant life of joy, peace, and purpose. Today God is saying to you, his daughter… “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.†Isaiah 41:10. God’s got you, sister-friend, so let’s do this. Hey Sister-Friend, How are you doing today? I hope you are well Today, we will look at part 2 of the four pillars of trauma healing that every Christian woman should know. In part one (episode 140) I unpacked the first 2 pillars of trauma healing, which are: Relational safety and preparation, and Education and skills building In this episode, I will discuss the last two pillars: Desensitization and Integration Prost traumatic growth and resilience. Many trauma survivors know that they want healing but are not quite sure how the process would look. By sharing these foundations, it will provide some insight into what you can expect the trauma-healing journey to entail. Your exact process would be tailored and co-created between you and your chosen mental health professional, and with the information in this episode, you will be able to explore and discuss what would be helpful to your healing. I hope you enjoy this episode and I wish you every success in your trauma-healing journey. Blessings and Love Jenniel

Hey Sister-Friend, Today we get to explore the foundations of trauma healing. In this episode, I will share the foundation that Christian women should base their healing on and how to build that foundation. I talk about the first 2 pillars of trauma healing so you know what to look for and what to expect as you take (or consider taking) your first step toward healing. Knowing the psychoeducation about how the traumatized body heals best gives hope to those seeking help. The first two pillars will be discussed today and tune in next week for the last two pillars. The foundation on which we build healing – as you may have guessed- is knowing God as he truly is and your identity in him. I will share tips on how you can become more grounded in both areas. Pillar number 1 is relational safety and preparation. I will share why this is essential in trauma treatment. The second pillar is education and skills building. It is also important to understand the biological and physiological impacts of trauma on the body and how the state of the body directly influences one's behaviour and actions. This will help you let go of any guilt, shame or frustration around any responses to triggering events. Instead, you will gain a new understanding of how to work with your body before you reach a state of upset or dysregulation. I enjoyed producing this episode and I hope you find it educational and helpful. Blessings and Love Jenniel Links Mentioned: Inductive Bible Study
