Send us a textMy guest today is my brother, Caden Farley. Having a brother that is so close in age to me has been like having an inside look into the way men's heads work. Caden has always been honest with me when it comes to advice on dating, men, their intentions, etc. because he's been in both long-term relationships and casual flings with women throughout his life. Obviously, his experience is one of many, but we can all recognize certain patterns within our own gender, so one experience is still a valuable one. Some major topics discussed:- how a guy acts when he is genuinely interested in a girl vs. something casual- different attachment styles (anxious vs. avoidant) and how they handle intimacy- the way social media makes it difficult to commit because of the perceived limitless options- how a guy can tell when a woman has respect for herself or not
Today Matt Monahan returns for another interview with Dr. Beth, following a great conversation on the Never Perfect Faith podcast on 6/20/24 entitled “Allowing hard questions and honest answers.” So many men find it difficult to face their pain and be vulnerable, and Matt is willing to share his story of growing up with childhood abandonment and emotional neglect. He barely knew his father, and has spent most of his life, wondering if he is good enough. He realized that his feelings about his father translated into his assumptions about God, which unconsciously happens for many. He felt that “if God existed, he would be a capricious and attentive military “type of person. Matt discusses how his insecurity and self loathing translated into his 25 year marriage. He discusses various triggers, including his wife, rejecting, sexual intimacy, and the despair that followed. He talked about the relationship challenges that presented during Covid, and the unexpected healing that came as a result of having more time for introspection. Tune in to hear how Matt pursued healing through self help and faith. If as kids we did not feel seen, heard, soothed or nurtured we will project those desires onto other people into our life. What happens is a lot of people do not even have the awareness of this inner child and they're not aware that if they were to develop a relationship with their inner child that it could completely transform their life from the inside out. F.L.Y. TALK: Parental Abandonment Issues & Trying To Fill The Void by WNHH Community Radio
My dad left me before i was even born, and my Mom left me with my grandparents so she can finish school (spoiler alert: they were VERY young)But guess what, I still love them very much (only recently though)On today's episode, i talk about my very own abandonment issues and how this has shaped a lot of the unfortunate events in my life. I felt that this was a topic i truly wanted to discuss because not a lot of us realize that so many of our bad decisions/questionable personality traits actually come as a byproduct of abandonment that we have experienced. But, as always, believe me, we can get through this!Don't forget, if you want to guest on the show, feel free to message!Support the Show.Email me at breakingdownthebreakdown@outlook.comor you can find me on instagram at @breakingdownthebreakdownpod

In this biweekly episode of "Love Frequency," host Nia explores the concept that our approach to love as adults reflects the emotional needs we did not receive in our childhood. She candidly discusses her own fear of dying alone, which stemmed from childhood and led her to make decisions aimed at avoiding loneliness, muddling her definition of love. Nia shares her painful personal journey, from dealing with the loss of her grandmother and homelessness during her senior year of high school to becoming a mother of three and carrying forward a legacy of minimal emotional fulfillment.Nia also discusses the importance of reconnecting with and nurturing our inner child as a crucial part of personal growth and healing. She introduces an exercise where you change your phone's wallpaper to a photo of yourself from childhood during a difficult time as a symbolic gesture to face and care for your younger self. Nia reflects on her own experience with the exercise and how it led to self-protection and a sense of home within herself.Overall, the episode is an invitation to listeners to embark on shadow work by acknowledging, addressing, and nurturing the wounds of their inner child to break cycles of emotional deficiency and transform pain into power. Nia encourages her audience to engage in introspection and healing for personal growth, hinting at the next episode's topic of how skincare routines can improve relationships.Episode Reflection/ Journal Prompts: Nia opens up about her quest to find a "home" and a sense of belonging. Discuss how the concept of "home" can be more of an internal than external place. The exercise of changing your phone's wallpaper to a picture of yourself during a difficult childhood moment is an invitation to reflect and heal. If you were to participate in this exercise, which image would you choose and why?Reflecting on the journey of self-love Nia describes, discuss how reconnecting with one's inner child can be a transformative step toward personal healing and growth.Episode Resources: Change Your Phone Wallpaper; Change Your Life (FB reel)Follow me on IG to see my HS Senior picture @L_ve FrequencySupport the show: : WANT TO SHARE YOUR STORY OR ASK A QUESTION? : :Email Nia at lvefreq@gmail.com or connect with me on social media! : : C O N N E C T W I T H M E : :TikTok: new account coming soon Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/l_vefrequency/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lvefrequency/YouTube: coming soon About Nia Blk: songwhip.com/niablk

As children, our sense of worthiness hinges on the approval, attention, validation, and protection of others. When we do not receive the consistent, maternal warmth every child needs to develop the psychological sense that we are enough, we matter, and that we are good, and acceptable even when we make a mistake or do not always behave as our parents prefer, this mystical connection to the self is fractured. In this space, our survival brain and even the root chakra, operate from a place of survival. Rather than live from our hearts, embracing ourselves as works in progress, without self loathing and internal self-abuse, we develop hypervigilance codependency traits and are soaked in insecure attachment issues. All these effects are normal, considering being raised to feel alone, invisible, abandoned, and detached from the authentic self. On the road to personal development, spiritual healing, and living an authentic life, all serious truth seekers find themselves questioning the thoughts, emotions, patterns, and behaviors that inhibit their spiritual growth. If you are here, and you are learning to become more objective about how you show up in the world, that's incredible. It may also be painful. However, to grow we must all confront what we feel, why we feel what we feel, and how the past organically recreates itself in our future, all outside conscious awareness. In this episode, Lisa A. Romano will help you explore how you show up in the world and reveal signs that indicate you might be stuck, living out unhealed childhood patterns by seeking approval and attention outside of yourself. Awareness is necessary for spiritual healing, personal growth, and living a conscious, authentic life, so buckle in Dear Ones. Lisa has created a private Membership for those who are ready to ascend the patterns of the past and who understand that real healing can only happen at the subconscious level. Hey loves! Today I'm joined by Allyson Byrd. Enjoy this amazing episode! "We were talking about what really matters to us and I said, ‘I'm ready to be beyond the abandonment, shame, and rejection'. And someone sitting back there replied, ‘So then, what story are you willing to tell yourself about it?'" In today's episode, we talk about: How to move through abandonment How to make peace through the hardest times of your life How to author a new story Understanding how to give to yourself when you are overextending from a wounded place How to make peace with rejection, shame, and abandonment What overextension looks like when serving others to avoid your own self-love Reclaim and remember who you are at your core So many coaches show up to teach all the pitfalls to avoid in hopes of you curating maybe 10% more success in your life. That is until they tell you that barely the top 1% of people make it into the sacred rings of achievement. It's called motivational speaking but it sounds tragic AF, right? Well, after screwing up her life for over 20 years with multiple careers, failed business ideas, sad singleness, unhappy family, broken relationships, no money, living in a tiny apartment, and weighing in at 345lbs, Allyson discovered motivational speaking and how unmotivated she was when she heard it. She then read the Gandhi quote, “Be the change you wish to see in this world.”, and she decided to change the game. When Allyson speaks, she answers the question, “WHAT IF IT ALL GOES RIGHT?”. Through her own story, she shares how she made life way harder than it ever had to be. For decades she trash-talked and shamed herself, letting perfectionism, anxiety, people-pleasing, and other self-sabotaging habits take over until she hardly recognized herself. She says that if you saw her during those times, you'd say she was positive and cheerful, but inside she was relentlessly beating herself up and frustrated that life never went her way. Can you relate? The hard core truth is that inner peace is a lot of f*cking work but so is living in shame, overwhelm, lack, scarcity, or fear. We all get to choose our “hard” and Allyson is the master of teaching you how to do it with ease. Reinventing your life — getting what you really want in business, at home, and in your relationships may seem hard. It's not. You can do it. You just need to know how. Congratulations… you're in the bonus round of life where you manifested “Allyson!” Connect with Allyson: - Find Allyson on Instagram @iamallysonbyrd. - Check out her website here. We had the pleasure of interviewing Rowan Drake over Zoom video!Rising singer-songwriter Rowan Drake has released his new song, “Elephant In The Room,” available now via Atlantic Records/Arthouse Records at all DSPs and streaming services. With over 5 million views on Tik Tok/Instagram Reels prior to its full release, “Elephant In The Room” has already proven one of Drake's most relatable releases. “Elephant In The Room” follows a growing string of emotionally charged songs from the gifted singer-songwriter, including “Hollow,” “2 People, “Abandonment Issues,” and “Hey Little Sister;” official visualizers can be viewed at Drake's YouTube channel. For Rowan, songwriting has always provided a space for transforming his feelings into unexpected beauty. Growing up in the small college town of Ithaca, New York, the singer-songwriter first discovered the power of that outlet when, at age 15, a devastating accident ended his dream of becoming a competitive snowboarder. After devoting nearly all his life to his snowboarding career, Drake began exploring his innate musicality by dreaming up his own hypnotic form of pop – moody, immersive, and fearlessly confessional, merging the intense introspection of classic singer/songwriters with a more forward-thinking sonic aesthetic. The talented young troubadour soon began performing locally around his hometown, self-releasing his first song while still in high school. Upon graduation, Drake packed up his car and moved to Los Angeles where he quickly connected with an array of rising young talents and potential collaborators. Currently hard at work creating more new music to follow throughout the year, Rowan Drake remains determinedly focused on preserving the immediate impact of unfiltered expression through deep connection with his fast-growing fan following.
