Born in Petersburg Va, Baba Kindu joined the US Army which enabled us to travel and live in Kentucky, Germany and before settling in Tacoma Washington. He attended and played football at Wenatchee Valley College in Central Washington state. He also served in the US Army and National Guard from 1990-96. Baba Kindu has been a community and grass-root organizer in the Seattle – Tacoma Washington area (founding the Black Family Foundation, an active participant in Seattle Kwanzaa Planning Committee, Kemet Temple, Nation of Islam 'Muhammad Study Group', Pan-African Youth Student Movement, Tacoma Local Organizing Committee, the Each 1 Teach 1 Study Group, The North West Chapter of the Associate Studies for Classical Afrikan Civilization, Kemetic Warrior Manhood development Training Rites of Passage Program). Baba Kindu currently resides in Gabriel Prosser City (aka Richmond, VA). He is the father to 6 children and married to Okomfo Afia Pomaa Adia Blackmon Shabazz. He is still dedicated to the proper education and liberation of Afrikan children. Since moving to Richmond he still remains active. In September '05 he established the Richmond Kwanzaa Kollective, organized a Black History Month Lecture Series, which involved such prominent Afrikan Centered scholars such as Runoko Rashidi, and Ashra and Merira Kwesi, and Senghor Baye El of U.N.IA., facilitated Hip Hop 101 Forums at Virginia State University, as well as working with For The People Alliance, a Grassroot coalition dedicated to Conscious development of Afrikan people. For 14 years Bro. Kindu and his wife, Adia have facilitated Black Marriage Day RVA an annual program dedicated to celebrating and supporting Black marriages through marriage educational workshops. Baba Kindu along with with his wife, Adia, have established Fahodi Shule Homeschool Cooperative who’s mission to properly educate their children as well as other children and families in the conscious community using an Afrikan Centered curriculum. In 2015 Kindu became a member of the Council of Independent Black Institutions and for the past two years has served as the co-facilitator of the renewed C.I.B.I. Science & Academic Expo. Kindu has also taught Hip Hop Social Studies and culture since 1996. Baba Kindu has co-facilitated Richmond’s first Maafa Kebuka Afrikan Spirituality Ritual and Convocation in 2014. He is also a a member of Ankobea Abusua Society, National Shrine of Afrikans in American (NSAA) and the Richmond Family Collective, Abusua Pa. He was the visionary and one of the founders of the NationHouse Positive Action Center and the Ankɔbea Society. Nana Agyei hails from Columbus, Mississippi and received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Howard University in Washington, D.C. He was a respected elder who had unparalleled vision, expansive knowledge, bottomless determination, unabated dedication, and tireless commitment to family. Okomfo Kwao was born in Haiti in 1967. In 1970 his parents were exiled to the Central Republic of Africa. His family then moved to the New York in 1975, where in 1988 he attended City College of New York and began as a student activist and organizer. Okomfo Kwao married his wife Lifoma in 1991 and they moved to Washington DC in 1999 to work with Ankobea Society. He is currently coordinator of the Ankobea male rites of passage program. Okomfo Kwao is physically active in martial arts, Tough Mudder competitions, calisthenics and biking. He is a father of four sons, three of whom have also graduated from spiritual training as shrine-workers, and a grandfather of four. In this episode Okomfo Kwao Magliore of the Ankobea Society discusses his parents being exiled to the Central African Republic, the courting of his wife, the development of his family, the role and relationship with his wife and sons and his role as coordinator of the rites of passage program and what it has done for the boys and men of the District of Columbia. Yaw Àgbẹ̀dẹ is a licensed professional engineer and a visionary educator who is committed to using his skills and expertise towards empowering Afrikan communities to survive and thrive through the sustainable use of indigenous Afrikan technical knowledge and paradigms. His areas of technical expertise include watershed mapping and evaluation, ecological restoration of streams and wetlands, stormwater green infrastructure design and inspection, as well as the sustainable design and construction of rural water and sanitation infrastructure. Born in Augusta, Georgia, USA, Àgbẹ̀dẹ attended the top-ranked John S. Davidson Fine Arts high school where he studied photography, theater production, and other arts. Upon graduation from high school, he enrolled in the Georgia Institute of Technology where he graduated with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Àgbẹ̀dẹ also holds technical degrees in Automotive Technology and Emergency Medicine along with additional certifications in the Design and Installation of Solar Photovoltaic Systems and Wilderness First Response. Àgbẹ̀dẹ has served as an educator in the US public school system, in private secondary institutions, and in post-secondary institutions before making his home in the independent Afrikan-centered educational community in Atlanta, Georgia. Some of the institutions he has worked with include Akobɛn Institute, Pearl Academy Math and Science Institute, Roots to Fruits and several others where he taught a range of courses including Afrikan-centered mathematics, engineering and science as well as physical education, survival skills, Afrikan languages, and automotive repair. T'Shango Mbilishaka is an award winning teacher who has taught in inner city communities in Boston and Washington D.C. for 15 years. He has been an administrator and taught grades pre-K to college. He never liked school so he decided to do everything to make school more interesting and exciting for students including creating hands-on-interactive lessons, going on field trips regularly, having guest presenters, teaching students their history and having classes relevant to the real world. T'Shango has developed community programs, parenting programs, Women's Self-Defense Programs, Men's support groups and Rites of Passage programs that all include learning self-defense. He began martial arts at the age of 12 but really excelled in Wrestling in High School. He enjoys studying the history of ancient African Warriors, War Empires in Africa, traditional African fighting styles and the great Martial Artists of the 60's and 70's and 80's such as Ron Van Clief, Tayari Casel, Vic Moore, Ahati Kilindi Iyi, Jim Kelly, Doc Moses Powell and many more. T'Shango studies Senuces Ryu Jujitsu under Professor Lusk Penn and trains in Brazilian Jujitsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and Kali. Magician & Comedian Ran’D Shine is known for performing "Real Magic for Real People." In other words no video edits, no actors, just pure mind boggling magic entertainment. Over the past few years Ran’D has become one of the MOST sought after performers in the industry, because his show is Highly entertaining and can be performed in small, large, indoor or outdoor venues. Mr. Shine’s magical style draws from his playful interactive relationship with his audience combined with his psychological engaging illusions and sleight of hand. A few of his accomplishments include featured performer, at the South African Arts Festival, perform at two Presidential Inauguration in Washington, DC., One of the few magicians to perform on Gauntanomo Bay Military base and was seen performed on the CW network’s Penn & Teller: Fool Us. and BET network "Man on the Street" segment.
