Likewise, if a Minister, Preacher, or other spiritual leader has had no spiritual realization or experience, how can they lead or guide the spiritual path of another? My early spiritual path consisted of visiting a 501 (c)(3) (church) once a week for an hour or two, where I was told the same stories over and over, and taught that what I believe is the thing that matters. What I was not taught is that, like every other thing of value in this world, spiritual attainment requires hard work. It took me years of researching other spiritual traditions and older versions of Christianity to learn that there is much more to spiritual progress than believing – and it entails work. There was repeated speculation that Ghislaine Maxwell might eventually write a memoir or autobiography giving her version of her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the criminal case against her and the years she spent moving through elite social circles. Reports suggested that Maxwell had considered telling her story from prison, potentially addressing Epstein, Prince Andrew, her prosecution and the people who surrounded them. The possibility attracted attention because Maxwell has continued to dispute aspects of the case against her and has portrayed herself as unfairly blamed for Epstein's crimes, making a memoir an obvious vehicle for her to try to reshape the public record.But despite the recurring talk, no Maxwell autobiography or memoir has been published to date. There has been no confirmed release, no completed book made public and no definitive publishing announcement that resulted in an actual memoir reaching readers. The idea has surfaced periodically in media reports and speculation, but it has remained just that: a potential project rather than a finished work. Dame Valerie Adams has paid tribute to Phil Gifford after the legendary Kiwi sports journalist, broadcaster and writer died on Tuesday night. Across his more than 50 years working in media, Gifford was a man of many hats, hosting several radio shows, working as a sports journalist, columnist and author, both under his own name and that of his satirical alter-ego, Loosehead Len. Among his work, the Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit worked with four-time Olympic medallist shot putter Adams on her 2012 book Valerie, The Autobiography. Adams told the Mike Hosking Breakfast show on Newstalk ZB of her “amazing relationship” with Gifford, who died aged 79. “The first memory is actually walking into his home in Stillwater. At the time, his wife was very unwell, so they were embarking on their own journey there, but [I] walked in and being greeted by amazing tapa cloth in the hallway, so many Polynesian artefacts in their house and just an incredible warmth within the home,” she said. “When he invited me into his little man cave to start the book, I just felt really at ease, and that just shows the kind of man he was. Not only him but also his wife. Episode Description:Nancy Cartwright is best known as the voice of Bart Simpson. But in this archive conversation, James is interested in the artist behind the voice.Nancy joins the show to talk about In Search of Fellini, the film she co-wrote with Peter Kjenaas based on her own trip to Italy in the 1980s. At the time, Nancy was already working as an actress and voiceover performer, but she became obsessed with Federico Fellini's La Strada. She studied scenes from the film in acting class, felt deeply connected to Giulietta Masina's performance, and eventually decided she wanted to get the rights to adapt La Strada for the stage.So she wrote Fellini letters. When she finally got a response telling her not to come because Fellini would be working, Nancy heard something else: he would be there.She went anyway.That decision becomes the central metaphor of the episode. Nancy describes the trip not as a business errand, but as an immersion into life, art, culture, language, risk, chance encounters, and personal transformation. The film's line—sometimes you have to travel far, far away to find what is closest to you—comes from one of those real encounters.James and Nancy also talk about her earlier career.
