We had scheduled a student to be with Heather Veneziano, but they had to cancel at the last minute. We still had a great talk about the Horticulture/Landscaping program at the ACE Center at Virginia Randolph and the huge demand for workers in many fields connected to our program.

The construction trades are suffering from a huge shortage of skilled tradesmen in the U.S. Many companies are exploring how they can attract more young people, men, and women, to the construction trades to deal with the increasing workload in their industry. Learn about the varied career paths in the industry and why they are great careers to follow. We talked with former ACE Center carpentry student, and in college to become an architect, Sky Allen, and Michael Higgins, and Charlie Mahaffey with Kokosing Construction.

Arianna, a student in the Pharmacy Tech program at the ACE Center, and her instructor, Jamaal Willis, discuss career opportunities in the retail pharmacy field. Many students, including Arianna, are already working and have promising futures ahead.

In this episode, we are chatting with Chris Williams, Equipment Repair Technician with the Virginia State Police and completer of the Automotive Tech program at the ACE Center at Highland Springs. We also had William Boswell, Equipment Operations Manager, VSP, Randy Pickerall, Equipment Repair Supervisor, VSP, and Steven Rigsby, Fleet Manager, VSP. EDINBURG, Texas - At a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the City of Edinburg's new Arts, Culture and Events (ACE) Center, Mayor Ramiro Garza made a point of singling out for praise Letty Leija.The director for the office of library and cultural arts played a big role in the project from the very beginning, the mayor said. “I want to take this moment to highlight the extraordinary contributions of a lady named Letty Leija. We all know who she is. Henrico Schools officials will dedicate two new Advanced Career Education facilities this month, celebrating expanded opportunities for students to pursue career and technical education studies. The new facilities, one at Hermitage High School and one at Highland Springs High, will provide students with as many as 1,000 potential new slots to take courses in areas such as auto body repair, veterinary science, cyber security, and physical therapy. Henrico Schools opened its new 85,000-square-foot Advanced Career Education Center building at Hermitage High School on Jan. 8 for students in the Workforce & Career Development program. The new facility, which sits in front of the old ACE Center building at Hermitage, has a modern concept with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a big forum space with round tables at the entrance of the building that seats 400. Reshawn is running solo for this episode and talked with Mr. Jason Wynne the Electricity teacher who is working with summer building trades students and senior trades students on our Regency Mall Project. The Regency Mall Project is where Henrico County's Workforce and Career Development (CTE) has rented a wing of Regency Mall and renovating the storefronts into adult education classrooms. Henrico County’s Advanced Career Education Center at Hermitage High School will receive a computer numerical control and waterjet training system as part of a ,500 competitive grant funded by the state, Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction James Lane announced Thursday. This was a great interview with Sheldon and Shari Glassner. Sheldon is the instructor at the ACE Center at Hermitage Graphic Communications program. Shari is an instructional assistant at Hermitage High School. Sheldon has over the years built one of the top graphic communications programs in the state of Virginia, high school, or college. The Glassner's discuss the work they and the students do for many departments in with Henrico County Schools, Henrico government, and other school systems. Sheldon's program is a great example of the hands-on education students receive with all ACE Center programs. It is amazing how a technology company like RICO has dozens of different careers available for young people to explore covering software, hardware, sales, support, and so many more.
