Today on City Cast Portland, OPB's Rob Manning and Elizabeth Miller join host Claudia Meza to recap the Class of 2025 project and break down what worked, what fell apart, and what Oregon's schools are still struggling to fix. It's Sunday and I'm wrapping up the week by summarizing this week's theme: College Now Costs $153,000! Here's How To Pay For ALL Of It Before High School Graduation In case you missed any episodes this week, here's the recap…
Welcome to a new week here on the Retirement Quick Tips podcast! I'm your host, Ashley Micciche. According to the latest figures from EducationData.org - The average cost of college* in the United States is $38,270 per student per year, including books, supplies, and daily living expenses. Multiply that by 4 years and junior's college will cost $153,080. My nephew is going to be a senior in high school this year, and will start applying to colleges in the fall. His top 3 choices are all expensive, and all but 2 are out of state. It's that time of year again - back to school, and for many of you planning for both your retirement and trying to get junior through college without mountains of debt or delaying your own retirement with that $153,000 price tag, I have some helpful suggestions this week on the best ways to save, invest, and prioritize college savings along with all of your other financial goals.
High school graduation season is in full swing as students culminate their school years with proms, ceremonies and other celebrations. Questions about what we would say in a high school graduation speech if given the opportunity, how to talk to talk about eternity with a six-year-old who is disturbed by the thought of Heaven never ending, and where Jesus is now if he has a body. If you had the opportunity to give the high school graduation speech, what would you say? How should I talk to my six-year-old about eternity when she struggles with the thought of it never ending and says she wishes she would have never been born so she didn't have to live in Heaven forever? If Jesus has a body, where is he?
