Stop Cop City: Imaginary Crimes Tour This week, we're sharing an interview with Selena who speaks about the "Stop Cop City: Imaginary Crimes Tour" and Jordan, a RICO defendant from the Stop Cop City 61 case. The two speak about anti-repression, about where the case is at right now and a wider view of resistance and support. The tour will be hitting over 60 cities (not all in the USA) From their tour announcement: 61 people are facing RICO trials in Atlanta for alleged involvement in resistance to the construction of Cop City. The State uses imaginary associations and crimes, framed as RICO, as a means to break solidarity and momentum when movements are strong. Anti-repression is a response that uses an alternate imagination to strengthen solidarity and resistance. In Spring 2025, a nationwide tour will visit over 60 cities to discuss the history of the Atlanta forest, the resistance to Cop City, history of RICO, ongoing legal updates and facilitate discussions on anti-repression and movement defense. Through this tour we aim to share the lessons we have learned across struggles, and adapt to the evolving repressive forces so that we can continue to move bravely together.⁩⁩ Stay updated here: www.instagram.com/sccimaginarycrimestour/ linktr.ee/sccimaginarycrimestour tinyurl.com/SCCImaginaryCrimesTourUpadates (announcements only signal chat)⁩⁩ If you want some more content on the struggle, check out this really interesting episode of Audio Interference, a podcast associated with the Interference Archive in Brooklyn's Park Slope neighborhood featuring materials from and discussion of a September 2024 installation entitled "Archiving Stop Cop City: This Is Not A Local Struggle" To hear past episodes of ours on the Stop Cop City movement, check out this link. Let us be guided by friendship and self determination. May we mind our pace, study our ancestors, listen to our storytellers and run towards expansive freedom and autonomy. From the mind of Kelly & Co. host Kelly MacDonald comes a behind-the-scenes look at one of the show's biggest evolutions—taking it on the road! When Kelly and Company was first being shaped, Kelly had one big request: remotes. Not just sitting in a studio, but actually getting out, meeting people, and bringing the show to the audience. It started with a simple idea, but thanks to John Melville and AMI leadership, that vision became reality. The team hit the road, covering events like the CNIB Expo during White Cane Week in Toronto (2017), followed by stops in Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. These live broadcasts were more than just great radio—they connected Kelly and Company with the very people it was made for. For Kelly, it was a dream come true—standing in front of a crowd, feeling like the broadcaster he always wanted to be. And in the world of audio? It was pure magic.

Ever wondered how Kelly & Company came to life? In this special Vanity Card, Kelly MacDonald takes us behind the scenes to reveal the unexpected journey that led to the show's creation—sharing details that maybe he shouldn't! It all started back in 2013 or 2014, when AMI-audio was exploring the idea of a live show—a big shift from its traditional format of readings and pre-recorded documentaries. The concept was ambitious, and as auditions began, Kelly, who was focused on television at the time, was initially not part of the plan. But his passion for live broadcasting couldn't keep him away for long. Through a mix of persistence, timing, and a little bit of luck, Kelly found his way into AMI-audio, starting with weekly appearances alongside Mike Ross in early 2016. But his story doesn't stop there—just when things started settling in, AMI's VP of Production, John Melville, called Kelly in for a meeting… and that's where the next chapter begins. Want to know what happened next? Stay tuned for the next Vanity Card where Kelly shares that pivotal conversation! Catalyst is a Creative Industries podcast, from Chapman University. Each episode features Chapman students who have completed a Podcasting course through the Center for Creative and Cultural Industries at the university. Students who had no podcasting experience or technical ability in the genre before taking the course were able to contribute all the segments to Catalyst this season with the goal being that they will take this ‘hands-on' experience and carry it over to the launching of their very own series. Each episode of Season 10 will feature one to two different interviews conducted by CCI students, exploring different aspects of the Creative and Cultural Industries. This week our first guest is experienced broadcast journalist from San Francisco, Jerry Kay who speaks with Angie Cox-Parra about his more than 30 year career in radio. Jerry explains how he has been able to align the creative practices of radio shows and podcasts with science by illuminating how editing and purpose are significant components of his creative process. They discuss how the main drive for his radio shows is curiosity, and how his need to continuously learn more had influenced the content that he has created over the course of his career. Angelica Cortez rounds out this week's episode with an interview of Evelyn Erives, the midday host of a show on heritage radio station 99.1 KGGI in Southern California, as well as the current Public Service Director and host of the weekly Community Spotlight for the iHeartMedia Riverside cluster. She additionally hosts the weekend show on the iconic KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles. The pair discuss how Erives' passion for radio is only matched by her enthusiasm for volunteering which has inspired many of her fans to join her efforts and has earned her countless awards including Woman of the Year, the National Media Award for Excellence in Radio Broadcasting, and the Latina of Influence award from Hispanic Lifestyle Magazine.
