What an amazing way to end the season! Alexandra is such a cool person! We spoke about her character “Marie' and how she is a crossover from the “Bad Candy” Universe and both movies happen to be Halloween themed which makes everything perfect. Essentially, Marie is a part of a vampire heavy metal band battling a warlock that is hellbent on world domination/destruction, I guess. That's what I am gathering from the trailer anyway – I could be 100% incorrect with that theory and being mislead by the Scott Hansen's ideas. She is also in the process of writing her own movie which is called “A Deadly Path” and it's a post-apocalyptic movie and I am already intrigued by the concept. For some reason, I have been watching a lot of post-apocalyptic movies lately, especially post-apocalyptic zombie movies. Crank up the volume, raise your horns in the air, and check out the movie when it's released in October this year.
The Artemis Podcast is back! We're so excited to share stories with you and explore the millions of ways to be a sportswoman. Join Artemis Coordinator Paige McMahon and Artemis Ambassador Megan Plete Postol as they speak with our new program manager, Annita Lucchesi! Artemis, the sportswomen's initiative at the National Wildlife Federation, recently welcomed Annita Lucchesi as its new program manager. Lucchesi has over a decade of experience advocating for policy at the Tribal, state, and federal levels. Most recently, she served as the founder and executive director of Sovereign Bodies Institute, a community-based research institute focused on gender and sexual violence against Indigenous people. “It's an honor to serve in this role, especially as a Cheyenne woman. I am fortunate to come from a family and community full of strong advocates for land, water, and wildlife, and I believe hunters and anglers have an important role to play in safeguarding our wildlife and landscapes for the next generation,” Lucchesi said. “My people place a high value on women's leadership and a close connection to the land, and I am thrilled to honor those teachings by bringing my passion and experience to help Artemis sportswomen become some of the strongest conservation leaders in the nation.” Lucchesi holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Arizona and has nearly two decades of experience as a cartographer. She travels between her Tribal community in southeast Montana and rural northern California, where she grew up and maintains close community ties. She is an avid outdoorswoman who fishes, hikes, and harvests from the land as a way to maintain her cultural traditions as an Indigenous woman. As sportswomen, we don't fit into any box or stereotype—we embrace being our full, authentic selves. There is no single definition of a sportswoman. Artemis celebrates the million ways to be one and uplifts sportswomen as unique leaders in both the sporting world and conservation. We are a nationwide community reflecting the diversity, leadership, expertise, and sisterhood of women hunters and anglers. Artemis sportswomen encourage one another in their growth and success, modeling women's leadership in caring for the lands and waters we harvest from and know so well. Join us in elevating sportswomen as leaders in both sporting and conservation! Learn more: https://artemis.nwf.org/ Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Today's guest is Carly Lucchesi a UC Davis trained Registered Dietitian with over 13 years experience. She helps solve for chronic inflammation and patterns of emotional eating so weight loss becomes peaceful. According to Carly, she believes, our healthcare system is broken and diet culture has only added health confusion. There is so much clutter when it comes to understanding weight loss and ultimately understanding how to achieve optimal health. Through genetic, micronutrient and food sensitivity testing, she helps clients understand what is creating bottom-up inflammation so they can confidently know what to eat and what to do to live in alignment with their body. But once this is uncovered, it's time to start addressing top-down inflammation which is created as a result of living with an unmanaged mind. This is where true behavior change is created, and a true calming of chronic inflammation can occur. In our conversation, we discuss: • How there are nutritional and lifestyle drivers of chronic inflammation and also mental and emotional drivers of inflammation such as the thoughts you think. This is the difference between top down and bottom up inflammation and both need attention and healing for health and weight loss • How people block their healing with judgment and resentment, and how to have a more peaceful wellness journey • How managing your thoughts and choosing more positive and empowering thoughts is the ultimate form of control. • Tapping into your future self, to start embracing the thoughts and beliefs of a more evolved identity in order to create change • Why she believes in functional and genetic testing to gather information on the whole person Resources: Gratisfied Healthified Online Magazine Instagram: @gratisfied @healthified Empower Bar Baking Mix NEW Gratisfied Bars! If inflammation is the driving force of nearly every chronic disorder, what causes inflammation? Symptoms of inflammation can strike any part of the body. It's not just swollen, arthritic joints. From belly bloat to brain fog to hypertension, inflammation weaks havoc and robs us of vitality. It's normal to treat symptoms of inflammation with medication. But that's like continually mopping up the water that's spilling out of the bathtub instead of turning off the faucet. And then adjusting your life around the water problem. Regardless of genetics, environmental toxins and even your diet, the primary source of inflammation is not what you think. Actually, it's HOW you think. Carly Luccesi is a registered dietician specializing in weight loss and interrupting self-limiting thought patterns that lead to chronic inflammation. In this episode, you'll learn: How the foods you're NOT eating contribute to your inflammation The overlooked nutritional demands of mental stress How changing your relationship to the thoughts in your brain changes your physiology The two-pronged, top-down and bottom-up approach to healing your inflammation Find more from Carly Luccesi at YourLivingHealth.com. Recorded: April 24th. Through 24 games the Mets are sitting at 14-10 and given multiple circumstances regarding the rotation (Injuries, Suspensions, Failing to go more than 6 innings) we're rather content with their start. After a successful 7-3 homestand where the club swept Oakland, took 2/3 from the Dodgers and then split a four game set with San Francisco - the boys return home for a three game set beginning tonight with the Washington Nationals, followed by a 4 game set with our good buddies, the Atlanta Braves- all of which we'll preview! We'll also dive into the Max Scherzer incident, the recent struggles of Kodai Senga & David Peterson as well as Carlos Carrasco heading to the IL. We break down the superb start in San Fran by Joey Lucchesi as well as the looming return of Veteran Ace Justin Verlander who looks set to make his Mets debut in Detroit on May 2nd. On this episode, Jack Daniel's Historian Nelson Eddy returns to the podcast to share Angelo's incredible story, from one-time monk to Sinatra's right-hand man, to building a legacy of decency and respect, Around the Barrel.
