We Summarize the light of Torah that came down Lel Shabbos Yom Tov 7th day of Pesach 5785 and at the Shirat David Seudot Moshiach together we discuss Torah very relevant to our weekly Lessons in Tanya currently middle of the heart of Tanya Chapter 32. The path of rebuke isn't so applicable in our generation, rather the path of love and peace like Hillel Hazaken brings in the name of the students of Aharon Hakohen our ancestor. On the night before Yetziat Mitzrayim , when Hashem struck the Egyptian firstborns, the Jewish people were commanded to remain inside their homes until morning. Rashi explains that Chazal teach in Masechet Bava Kama : " - מאחר שניתנה רשות למשחית לחבל אינו מבחין בין צדיק לרשע - Once the destroying angel is given permission to destroy, he no longer distinguishes between a tzaddik and a rasha ." Since the angel had permission that night, the Jewish people were instructed to stay indoors and out of harm's way. At first glance, this seems troubling. Does it mean that even a tzaddik can be harmed, despite his righteousness? How do we reconcile this with Avraham Avinu's plea when he heard that Hashem planned to destroy Sedom ? He said, "Far be it from You to kill the righteous along with the wicked!"—suggesting that Hashem would never allow a tzaddik to suffer unjustly. The Emek Beracha writes further that a tzaddik even has the power to repel the destroying angel, as we see with Aharon Hakohen and Pinchas , who halted plagues through their actions. In the beginning of Parashat Vaera, the pasuk says, וידבר אלוקים אל משה ויאמר אליו אני ה '. Hashem used His name of judgment and mercy in the very same pasuk. The Ohr Hachayim there explains, Hashem was telling Moshe, While I was dealing with the Egyptians with harsh judgement, simultaneously I was granting mercy to the Jews, even though they were mixed in with each other. Even though the destroying angel was given permission to destroy, Hashem still had mercy on the Jews. The Rambam teaches that as long as a tzaddik maintains a deep connection to Hashem in his thoughts, he remains untouchable. The Gemara in Masechet Shabbat states, "There is no death without sin and no affliction without transgression." There is never a moment that everything is not being completely controlled by Hashem. A destroying angel is just another one of Hashem's millions of agents carrying out His will. The Alsheich strengthens this point based on the pasuk that states Hashem stands amidst the judges when they are judging a court case. A judge must be fully aware of Hashem's presence so that He does not sway the judgment by even one iota. The Gemara says a judge should feel like the gates of Gehinom are open beneath him and as if there is a sharp sword stretched out against him if he purposely judges a case wrongfully. Look how much Hashem cares about the right judgment being done. He doesn't want someone who doesn't owe money to pay. He doesn't want someone who doesn't deserve a penalty to receive it, whether it's lashes or worse. Then how could it possibly be that He would allow a Tzaddik to suffer or a destroying angel not to be מבחין בין צדיק לרשע if he doesn't deserve it? The Alsheich explains, when Chazal said the angel doesn't distinguish, refers to when Hashem sends the angel of death to take the lives of people who are committing the worst of averot. That becomes a time of Din. At that time the angel is given permission to see everyone's sins illuminated on their foreheads. If a tzaddik has a sin that is fitting to be punished in a similar manner, then the tzaddik will be taken as well. Normally, Hashem, in His infinite mercy, gives people years to make teshuva. Someone could even be given decades before he is punished for a sin in the hope that he will repent and not need to be punished. However, if there is a time of divine decree, then the sins of the tzaddik will be brought to light. However, if the tzaddik does not deserve to be punished, the destroying angel will have no power over him. And if he is a tzaddik gamur , he will even repel the angel. The bottom line is we are always under the hashgacha of Hashem. No person or angel ever has any power of its own. Therefore, we can be calm knowing that we are always only in the hands of Hashem.

We're now the song of the Behema Gasa Tehora the large domesticated kosher animal. We already had the Song of the Ox, and therefore the commentaries say we're talking about the para , which is the female cow . She has a separate song: בְּהֵמָה גַּסָּה טְהוֹרָה אוֹמֶרֶת. הַרְנִינוּ לֵאלֹהִים עוּזֵּנוּ הָרִיעוּ לֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב: (תהילים פא ב) Let us sing a song to God, our strength, let us sound the trumpet to the God of Yaakov. As always, we have to understand the meaning of the pasuk, and also why this animal (in our case today, the cow) is singing this song. Rav Chaim Kanievsky cites a pasuk in Shemuel א 7,12 that discusses how the cows brought the Aron Hakodesh back after it was in captivity. The cows sang a song, says the Gemara in Avoda Zara 24B, that God miraculously allowed them to sing, " Roni Roni Hashita/ Sing sing to the Aron of made out of Shittim wood . Rav Chaim Kanievsky points out that the cows sang this song of Rena . And that's why in our pasuk, it's a song of Rena, to our God, that is our strength. But let's go deeper. What exactly is going on of here? Why the cows? And what song are we singing? The Mabit tells us in Perek Shira the Hereinu is a double Rena . Why a double Rena ? We're going to sing the song for God's justice that turned into mercy , and we'll sing a song for God's mercy. Elohim always means justice. Hareinu Elohim/ we'll sing to Elohim. That means God's trait of justice, turned around into mercy. This pasuk is said on Rosh Hashanah, and this entire chapter is talking about the Shofar of Rosh Hashanah. So this is a Rosh Hashanah message that the cows are going to be singing. On Rosh Hashanah, we have Middat HaDin/God's judgement. How do we deal with the Middat HaDin? What do we do when it looks like we're in a precarious situation? The Bet Yosef, in Or HaChaim siman ר צב where it talks about why we use the term Yitzhak Yiranen/ Yitzhak sings a song, says Abraham symbolizes Hessed, Yitzhak symbolizes Din / justice , and Yaakov Avinu is the harmony of both of them. So Yitzhak sings the song when times are tough, the songs of accepting God's will. Where do we see this? When Avraham told Yitzhak in Bereshit 22,8, " You are going to be the Olah, " it says Yitzhak sang a song of Rena . Anytime there's a korban, there's a song. So Yitzhak Avinu says, I am the korban, and I'm going to sing the song of the Korban. I'm going to accept God's will, even though I'm the Korban. Our three Avot correspond to Kohen, Levi and Yisrael. So Yitzhak Avinu deals with God's justice and sings a song of Rena, which is accepting God's will. But what happens when you're in a difficult situation and you sing the song and you accept God's will? Kol Rena V'yeshua B'Olahalei Sadikim/In the tents of Sadikim there's a Kol Rena, they are singing, even in the most difficult of times, accepting the will of God. V'Yeshua, and Hashem saves them. Yitzhak was eventually saved. He wasn't offered as a korban. The knife was taken from his neck. In part, it was because of Yitzhak Yeranen/Yitzhak Sang , he accepted with Rena . And now we go a step further. Why did the Jewish people choose a golden calf? As we know, the para is the mother of the calf. in Rashi Bamidbar, 19, 22 explaining why we have a para Aduma, it says it atones for the sin of the golden calf, because he calf is the child of the para. Rashi brings a mashal to a maid-servant whose child dirtied the palace. And they say, "Let the mother clean up the dirt of the child." So too, "Let the Para come to clean up form the Egel." What was wrong with the Egel? What went wrong? The Ramban says that the Jewish people were in the desert. The desert is a desolate area, which symbolizes Middat HaDin, and they felt, not that they were worshiping the Egel, but they felt that since Moshe was gone, they needed to focus on something on God's throne, that you focus on during times of Din. In Yehezkiel 1,20 it says, The cow was on the left. Left is always justice, right is kindness. So therefore, Aharon Hakohen thought, let that destructive cow, the cow that gores, come be the one that's going to direct us when Moshe is gone . So the cow symbolizes justice and here the cow is going to tell us the secret. You made a mistake. In a time of justice, I'll tell you the secret. הַרְנִינוּ לֵאלֹהִים עוּזֵּנוּ הָרִיעוּ לֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב: (תהילים פא ב) Sing the song of Rena to God, accepting His will. That's our strength. In Vayikra 23, 24, when talking about the shofar, Seforno quotes our pasuk and he says, it's time of justice. And what do we do? We want to be happy that God is our King. We give ourselves over to His will, and we're hoping that He's going to tilt the scale of justice and turn it into kindness, and will save us. And he quotes a pasuk, Hashem is my judge. Hashem is the One that sets the rules up, and therefore He will save us. So on Rosh Hashana we accept the will of God. We go with the approach of Rena . That's the secret of the cows. And that will bring us the ultimate salvation.

The SHVILEI PINCHAS: Let us begin our path to enlightenment with the fascinating words of the holy Zohar (Pinchas 237.) regarding the difficult battle Pinchas waged with the angelof death, the Malach HaMavet, in order to save Yisrael from annihilation. — Pinchas the son of Elazar, the son of Aharon HaKohensaw, and he rose from the midst of the assembly. This possuk suggests that he saw something that prompted him to act zealously to avenge Hashem. The Zohar explains that while Yisrael were engaged in their transgression — which came as a consequence of Bilam's counsel and was led by Zimri ben Saloo — Pinchas saw the letter “mem,” full of blood, suspended above the heads of Yisrael. He perceived, wisely, that this was the sign of the Malach HaMavet — attempting to unite the letter “mem” with the letters “vov-tov” to form the Hebrew word מו”ת (death), in order to bring widespread death to the people of Yisrael. Pinchas reacted by uttering the shem HaMeforrash and capturing the letter “mem.” Upon realizing that Pinchas had snatched the letter “mem” away from him, he immediately backed away. Pinchas joined the “mem” with the numerical value of his own name 208 ) פינח”ס ) — represented by the letters ר”ח(“reish” equals 200; “ches” equals 8) — to form the word רמ”ח . Describing this event, the possuk states (Bamidbor 25, 7): “ויקח — and he took a רמח (a spear) in his hand — in other words, he used the letter “mem” which he snatched away from the Malach HaMavet to kill those involved in the transgression. As a result: “ותעצר המגפה מעל בני ישראל” — the plague was halted. This, then, is the interpretation of the possuk: ”פינחס בן אלעזר בן אהרן הכהן השיב את חמתי מעל בני ישראל”-- Pinchas the son of Elazar, the son of Aharon HaKohen, turned back My wrath from upon Bnei Yisrael, when he zealously avenged Me among them — he deflected the wrath of the letter “mem,” which hung, full of blood, above the heads of Yisrael; בקנאו את קנאתי בתוכם' “ — he zealously avenged Hashem ” בתוך ם“, by capturing the letter “mem,” thus, sparing the lives of the people of Yisrael:
In this week's parsha, we learn about chukim, laws that do not have reasons of which we are aware. Despite this, it is important to follow them. Additionally, we learn how important it is to follow God's exact instructions (and not to deviate from them). We also learn how to conduct ourselves in our own lives. We should strive to be like Aharon HaKohen, the High Priest, who was a rodef shalom. To be a rodef shalom means to pursue peace, and to try to help people reconcile with one another. It was due to this quality that Aharon was so beloved by Bnei Yisrael.
