EDUCATION:Stanford - 1989-93YEARS AT SAN FRANCISCO:Sept. 2016 - PresentCAREER HIGHLIGHTS AT SAN FRANCISCO:Molly Goodenbour, a two-time national champion at Stanford who has over a decade of head coaching experience on the collegiate level, was named the ninth head coach in University of San Francisco women's basketball history on Sept. 28, 2016. This is Goodenbour's third coaching stint on the Hilltop, where she served as an assistant coach with the Dons during the 1994-95 and 2005-06 seasons. In 2023-24, Goodenbour led San Francisco to a second-half resurgence as the team finished in a tie for third place in the West Coast Conference standings after starting the season with a 4-9 record. The program posted double-digit victories in WCC play for the fifth time in Goodenbour's tenure as the team finished at 10-6, highlighted by season sweeps of Pacific, Saint Mary's, Pepperdine, and LMU.  San Francisco also finished the season strong, rolling eventual WCC Tournament Champions Portland on the road, earning 59-47 victory at Chiles Center.Under Goodenbour's guidance, Jasmine Gayles and Debora dos Santos earned All-WCC First Team honors. Dos Santos recorded a career season, averaging a double-double with 15.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game while Gayles led the squad in scoring at 16.8 points per game. Gayles also recorded the second 40-point game in program history as she dropped 40 points in an 81-68 win at Pacific on January 13The 2022-23 season under the leadership of Goodenbour concluded with an overall record of 19-13. Three Dons earned All-WCC Selections while two Dons earned WCC All-Within the first six years on the Hilltop, Goodenbour posted impressive numbers, including becoming the winningest coach in USF history through 50 games (27-23), as well as through two seasons at 34-28 (.548). Goodenbour quickly built up her impressive resume at USF, becoming the first coach to post winning overall and conference records in her first two seasons on the job. Building off the program's strong start to the new decade, the Dons were once again punching a postseason ticket as they battled through a grueling non-conference schedule that kept them away from the Hilltop from Thanksgiving until after New Year's Day. Following an 0-4 start to WCC play battling through injuries and COVID-19 related pauses, the Dons went on to rattle off wins in six of their next seven games and finished with the third seed heading into the WCC Tournament. USF would go on to defeat Santa Clara in Vegas before returning home to host Air Force in the WNIT.Since the start of the 2020-21 season, Goodenbour's Dons have made consecutive WNIT appearances and won at least one game in back-to-back WCC Tournaments. Led by two-time All-WCC first team selection Ioanna Krimili, USF's 2020-21 team led the conference in total points and points per game while being a top-four program in team plus/minus. Goodenbour's third WCC Tournament in 2019 saw her lead the Dons to a first-round victory over Portland, marking the seventh year in a row the Dons advanced beyond their opening game.Molly's 2017-18 squad placed three WCC All-Conference and All-Academic honorees. Anna Seilund earned First-Team All-WCC and Second-Team All-WCC recipients Michaela Rakova and Kalyn Simon. She finished her first year on the Hilltop in 2016-17 with an 18-13 overall record that included an 11-7 mark in West Coast Conference play, good for a fourth-place finish, the Dons' highest since the 2002-03 season. In the process, Goodenbour became the first USF head coach since Sue Rojcewicz in 1982-83 to post a winning record in her first year at the helm and compiled the second-best record by a first-year coach in program history. In addition, USF's 11 WCC wins under Goodenbour were the most since the 1996-97 campaign.

Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs were snubbed, egregiously, by the WCC coaches in the end of the season awards. Graham Ike and Ryan Nembhard deserved Newcomer of the Year over Jonathan Mogbo from San Francisco, while Ike had a case for Player of the year over Augustas Marciulionis from St. Mary's. Will these snubs add even more fuel to the fire for the Zags heading into the WCC Tournament? We also discuss why Braden Huff did not win Freshman of the Year, despite a stronger case than Ryan Beasley, and Nolan Hickman being named All-WCC 2nd team instead of first team - and why he should have made it over Aidan Mahaney. We close out the show discussing Lisa Fortier and the Zag women, who secured four of the six major WCC awards - with both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year going to Yvonne Ejim and coach Fortier taking home the Coach of the Year award.FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states. Mikayla started all 19 games as a sophomore, where she totaled 5 goals and led the team with 7 assists as BYU claimed the West Coast Conference (WCC) regular season title. At the end of the season, Cluff was named to the 2018 All-WCC first team as well as the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region first team and All-America second team. On January 13, 2021, Cluff was selected in the second round (14th overall) of the 2021 National Women's Soccer League draft by Orlando Pride. Despite not declaring, a rule change amid the COVID-19 pandemic meant that any player who had exhausted 3 years of college eligibility could be selected. Having returned to BYU for the 2021 NCAA college soccer season, Cluff signed a 2-year contract with Orlando ahead of the 2022 season on January 26, 2022. She made her professional debut on March 19, 2022, starting in the season opener against Washington Spirit in the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup. She scored her first NWSL goal on May 18, 2022 against North Carolina Courage. Mikayla continues to uphold and sustain the Constitution of the United States of America, as demonstrated on the professional soccer field amongst her peers by Standing to the Pledge of Allegiance. Through her demonstration of athletic ability and personal integrity, Mikayla Colohan Cluff demonstrates the outstanding character and qualities valued and cherished by residents of Kaysville Utah.

The NBA season is nearly here, and as many as 10 Gonzaga Bulldogs could suit up for various NBA squads this year, a testament to the high level recruiting and player development Mark Few's program has going on in Spokane. Today's episode is a preview of the latest Zag to sign an NBA contract, Joel Ayayi, who will reunite with Jalen Suggs on the Orlando Magic. We discuss Ayayi's history, going from redshirt/bench player to All-WCC performer while at Gonzaga, going undrafted in 2021 and bouncing around franchises, and his newest contract in Orlando. We also take a look at the best and worst case scenarios for Ayayi entering his second professional season with still no guarantee he'll stick around at the NBA, or even G-League, level. We also evaluate what his season might look like, how his role and production will shake out, and why it might make sense for him to look overseas if he can't find a steady foothold in the states.Link to my new website all about Gonzaga: https://scorezagsscore.com/Danny Evans GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-coach-danny-evans-his-childrenJeremy Eaton GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/r8yj3-jeremys-cancer-fundhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. In a truly unique edition of the Soccer Nation Sitdown, we take a detailed journey inside the world of the most incomparable position on the pitch. To help us examine the art of goalkeeping, Nate Abaurrea is joined by San Diego State Aztecs Goalkeeper’s Coach, and Director of Coaching at Vista Soccer Club, Matt Hall. Hall is a goalkeeper through and through, and a San Diegan at heart. After growing up in Vista, California and playing for the hometown Vista Storm, Hall took his talents to San Diego State University. After three outstanding years with the Aztecs, starting in goal as a freshman and wearing the captain’s armband for the subsequent two NCAA campaigns, Hall transferred across town, suiting up for the Toreros of the University of San Diego for his senior season. In his one season at USD, Hall was an All-WCC goalkeeper, and went on to play professionally in the A-League. But coaching was always something in the back of Hall’s mind. Soon after his playing career drew to a close, Hall ventured into the soccer coaching world, and has now seen his footballing life come full circle, helping to lead the charge for organizations he once represented as a player. Follow us on Twitter at @DikeNatsai, @NateAbaurrea, and @soccer_nation. Email us at news@soccernation.com Special thanks to Patrick Erhard (ashwilliamstheband.bandcamp.com) and Alexandar Bang.
