Former Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich told The Two Mikes today that the battle in the Republican caucus over who would be a Speaker of the House was a victory for pro-Trump forces as they voted for Kevin MaCarthy only because he agreed to back an America First agenda, not the agendas of Wall Street and the Chamber of Commerce. Governor Ehrlich also discussed the mess our elections are in. Because each of the states sets its own election laws, the voting-perversions known as mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, drop boxes, election-day registration, and no requirement for photo-IDs. These laws can only be changed by state legislatures, and the Republican party must win majorities in them. On foreign policy, Governor Ehrlich added that a lot of people were awakened during the election season when they saw the Biden government's eagerness to spend more than $100 billion to protect Ukrainian borders, but not a cent to stop the invasion of millions of illegal aliens over our wide-open southern border. “P.S. Former Republican governor of Maryland Robert Ehrlich today joined The Two Mikes to discuss prospects for the midterm elections. In Maryland, he said that the Republicans were "competitive" in three of the state's congressional seats, and several county-executive races. He said the governorship is still a fight, but the Democrat candidate is flush with cash. Nationally, Governor Ehrlich said that he expected something of a red tide for the Republicans, especially after Dr. Oz wiped the floor in the debate with his Democratic opponent in Pennsylvania. He also expected that the Republicans would take the House and gain several governorship pick-ups. That said, he warned that the Republican vote must turn out in massive numbers, and that they appear likely to be joined by significant numbers of dissatisfied Democratic voters and independents. He also warned that other unexpected events may unfold before and on election day as all governing elites in the United States -- political, economic, social, academic, etc. -- are still reeling from the inconvenient and disruptive impact of Trump's extremely successful presidency and will fight to the death to try to prevent a positive environment for his run in 2024. On election day, he said, much will depend on the votes of the women who have been enraged by the Democrats' unrelenting attacks on young children with their efforts to make sexual deviancy another state of "normal", as well as their repeated declarations that the government and its teachers, and not parents, are the proper entities to raise children. Today, The Two Mikes interviewed the former Republican governor of Maryland Bob Ehrlich. Gov. Ehrlich is a supporter of Trump, and while governor reduced Maryland debt from a deficit of $4 billion to a surplus of 2.3 billion. He is now in private law practice. Gov Ehrlich comes from a blue-collar family in Arbutus, Maryland, and speaks the language and values of the lower and middle classes. Gov. Ehrlich champions reform of the public education system by using more common sense, as well as parents' desires for their children, rather than by more dollars and more noxious, leftist ideology. Governor Ehrlich maintains a strong connection with those who voted for him and those across America who share his ideas via his website: https://www.govbobehrlich.com/; His writings in the Western Journal: https://www.govbobehrlich.com/columns; and his Podcast: Bottom Line.
