Join Jim and Greg for the Tuesday edition of the 3 Martini Lunch as they dissect polls showing voters still trust Republicans more on the economy, shudder at Border Czar Tom Homan's concern over major terrorist attacks in the U.S. due to Biden's open borders, and size up the Democrats already dipping their toes into the water for 2028.First, they highlight CNN's Harry Enten reporting that Americans increasingly see Republicans as the party of the middle class and more trustworthy on economic issues. Enten appears frustrated by the trend, but Jim and Greg explain that the shift is no surprise—Democrats keep ignoring inflation, cost-of-living spikes, and pushing radical economic policies voters don't want.Next, they react to dire warnings from Border Czar Tom Homan, who says the Biden administration's border failures have allowed two million “gotaways” into the country—migrants who deliberately avoided processing at the border. Homan warns it's only a matter of time before some of these individuals commit a major terrorist attack inside the U.S.Finally, they joke about the preemptive presidential campaigns begun by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore. In recent appearances in South Carolina, Walz called Trump a "wannabe dictator" and urged supporters to bully Trump. Meanwhile, Gov. Moore inists he's not running for president in 2028 but keeps doing events like this. His record as governor is also not that great. And they also discuss the indecision of Kamala Harris over running for governor of California next year. Please visit our great sponsors:Upgrade your skincare routine with Caldera Lab and see the difference. Undisputed King of Stuff and Sink the Rising Sun author Jon Gabriel fills in for Jim today. Join Jon and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss Maryland reversing its electric vehicle mandate, Democratic attorneys general taking President Trump to court over his executive order on election security, and a federal judge forcing the White House to reopen full access to the Associated Press.First, they applaud Maryland Gov. Wes Moore for walking back the state's EV mandate, which would have required 43 percent of new vehicle sales to be electric starting with 2027 models. Moore pointed to the Trump administration suspending funding for EV charging stations—a program that received $7.5 billion under President Biden and produced only eight chargers nationwide. But Jon and Greg also note that just 13 percent of new car sales in Maryland are EVs, highlighting how many Americans simply don't want them.Next, they criticize the 19 Democratic state attorneys general suing President Trump over his new executive order to strengthen election security, including a requirement to show proof of citizenship to register to vote. While election rules are primarily left to the states and Congress has some oversight, Jon and Greg are stunned by Democrats' continued opposition to even the most basic voter integrity measures—opposition that's likely to flare again soon with the SAVE Act.Finally, they slam on a federal judge's ruling requiring the Trump White House to grant Associated Press reporters access to spaces like the Oval Office and Air Force One. Jon and Greg argue this is not a First Amendment issue and question why a court would be involved with this at all. They also express fatigue with the White House press corps constantly acting the victim every time the White House does something reporters don't like. Please visit our great sponsors:Future-proof business operations with NetSuite by Oracle. In a powerful tribute this Veterans Day, Maryland officially recognized Harriet Tubman for her remarkable contributions during the Civil War, commissioning her as a Brigadier General in the Maryland National Guard this past Monday. The momentous occasion highlights Tubman not only as a leader of the Underground Railroad but a courageous operative for the Union. Born Araminta Ross, Tubman's journey from enslavement to freedom fighter is legendary. After escaping to Philadelphia, she returned to the Eastern Shore multiple times to rescue family and friends. During the war, she served as a nurse, scout, and leader, notably orchestrating a mission that liberated over 700 enslaved individuals along the Combahee River. At the commissioning ceremony near her birthplace, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore praised Tubman as a pioneer of the phrase "leave no one behind," emphasizing her unwavering commitment to freedom and justice. Despite her longstanding contributions, Tubman was only recognized as a veteran. This posthumous promotion corrects this oversight, celebrating a woman who has inspired generations. Maryland Gov. Moore pardoned 175,000 marijuana convictions which is good...but also, what does that really mean now that weed is already legal in the state? Meanwhile, the US can't actually be doing more for Israel despite the bizarre tik-tok style sob videos Netanyahu is making about lack of weapons. At the same time, Israel uses US-style logic in the ongoing war crimes against Palestinians: how do you know you were killing enemy combatants? Well, they were men between the age of 18-80. How do you know they were enemy combatants? Because we killed them. Sweden has signed a DCA-agreement with the US that reads like a capitulation document after losing a war...here's why that matters to you and the economy and oh, nuclear war. Maryland Governor Wes Moore has issued over 175,000 pardons for marijuana convictions, marking the most extensive state-level pardon in the country. The executive order aims to mitigate the past injustices of the war on drugs, specifically targeting misdemeanors that have affected tens of thousands of Maryland residents. Advocates see the executive order as a significant step toward eliminating barriers to housing, employment, and education for individuals convicted of now-legal activities. Gov. Moore highlighted that the pardons address long-standing racial disparities in cannabis arrests and noted the enduring negative impacts of such convictions on individuals' lives. The pardons cover over 150,000 misdemeanor cannabis possession convictions and over 18,000 related paraphernalia offenses. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
