Texas Gov. signs $1 billion school choice program, Angry parent blasts school board over daughter's gender transition, Chinese-American expert: Get tougher on China

It's Monday, May 5th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 18-wheeler truck plowed in Easter parade, killing 6, injuring 18 A government-appointed committee determined that the Muslim driver of an 18-wheeler truck that plowed into an Easter parade on Sunday, April 21, in the town of Billiri in Gombe State, Nigeria, intentionally struck the Christians as they celebrated Christ's resurrection.  The committee also found that of the 36 people struck in the attack, six died, and 18 remain in critical condition, reports International Christian Concern. Pray Psalm 147:6. It says, “The Lord sustains the humble, but casts the wicked to the ground.” China official hints he wants to end tariff war with U.S. China is hinting that it could be willing to talk to Trump administration officials as a way to end the trade and tariff war, reports The Western Journal. A Chinese Commerce Ministry representative said, “China is currently evaluating” messages from administration officials that “expressed their willingness to negotiate with China on tariffs,” according to the Wall Street Journal. He added, “China's position is consistent. If you want to fight, we will fight to the end; if you want to talk, our door is wide open.” President Donald Trump's 145 percent tariff on Chinese imports led China to impose a 125 percent tariff on American imports. Trump has said he will not blink without concessions that could include greater access to Chinese markets. Chinese-American expert: Get tougher on China Appearing on ‘Fox Report' with Jon Scott, Gatestone Institute senior fellow Gordon Chang explained that China has no tariffs on certain categories of products that only America can provide. SCOTT: “China is making allowances for some US products to be imported without tariffs. Does that suggest that they are finding that it's not so easy to block U.S. products?” CHANG: “Oh, absolutely. And you know, it's not just that they're reducing tariffs. You know, for instance, President Trump reduced tariffs on electronic goods coming in from China. “What China has done, which we learned from both the Reuters and the Financial Times reporting yesterday, is that there are no tariffs on certain categories of U.S goods. So, for instance, aviation parts, semiconductors, medical devices, medicines, industrial chemicals -- things that China can't get elsewhere -- and they're just coming into China tariff-free.” Chang urged Trump to get even tougher on China. CHANG: “Instead of talking about reducing tariffs, I think that we need to start actually imposing some more costs. “So, for instance, China is not taking Boeing aircraft deliveries. We flew back three 737 Maxes from China that were about to be delivered. Well, if I were President Trump, I would say to Boeing, ‘You can no longer provide services or parts to Chinese Airlines because that will ground the Chinese fleet. And I think that will bring the Chinese to heel fairly quickly. “But we need to do some things that would be considered unthinkable. This is not the type of normal trade war that people are used to. This is looking like an all-encompassing struggle. When President Trump last week signaled conciliatory moves, the Chinese even got worse, and they were saying, ‘Well, no talks until the U.S. removes all tariffs.'” Angry parent blasts school board over daughter's gender transition A furious Lakewood, Colorado father, Dustin Gonzalez, lost his temper with woke educators during a county school board meeting, saying his daughter's new gender identity and transition was kept secret from him and affirmed by school staff. GONZALEZ: “I'm not a politician. I'm not a loud voice on social media. I'm a father, a quiet one, one who goes to work, tries to do right by his family, and stays out of the spotlight. But now, now you're gonna remember my name. “My daughter changed her identity, not after years of discussion or family dialogue, not from joint input from both of her parents. No, this happened quickly, secretly, encouraged by a school-appointed therapist in a system that never thought to include me. And the school didn't inform me. They didn't include me. They didn't even ask me. They replaced me! “By the time I found out, I was already labeled ‘the problem.' My objections weren't treated as concerns. They were treated as opposition. My voice was dismissed as hateful. My presence undermined. The therapist, the school, and eventually the court-appointed investigator all decided that because I wouldn't affirm something, I didn't deserve to parent my daughter equally anymore. “They didn't accuse me of abuse. They didn't claim I'd caused harm. The only evidence against me was that I said, ‘I'm not ready to affirm this yet.' That's it! “And now I'm at risk of losing parenting time, of being erased from my daughter's life, not because I failed as a father, but because I dared to ask questions. And it started in your schools. Your systems made it possible, and your silence made it permanent! “You gave my ex all the tools she needed to take our daughter from me, tools that she couldn't have forged on her own. You gave her the therapist, you gave her the ideological support, and you never once thought, ‘Shouldn't the father be involved too?' “You gave her a system that cut me out of the picture. You handed her the tools to eliminate me from my daughter's life. And with your help, she's trying to race me all together. You replaced my voice. You stole my seat at the table. And you made decisions about my daughter without me! “I don't care if you personally signed the policies, stayed silent while he passed, or simply chose not to know, you are all responsible. Don't think you can take a man's child from him and not reap a whirlwind!” Just like Psalm 103:13 articulates, a father has compassion on his child. But sadly, in this case, the government school's woke policies became a wedge between father and child. Texas Governor signs $1 billion school choice program And finally, on Saturday, Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed a $1 billion school voucher program into law, cementing the biggest legislative victory of his decade in office, reports the San Antonio Express-News. ABBOTT: “It is time that we put our children on a pathway to having the number one ranked education system in the United States of America. (applause) “Gone are the days that families are limited to only the school assigned by government. The day has arrived that empowers parents to choose the school that's best for their child.” Abbott referenced parents in the crowd who had already pulled their students from “low-performing” public schools to put them into private ones.  Under the $1 billion school choice law, Texas students who are enrolled into the program will receive $10,000 per year to go to an accredited private school. Disabled students will get up to $30,000 per year and home schooled students will receive $2,000 per year per child. The first year of operation will begin in 2027. The state will choose nonprofits to run the program, develop the application process, and pick which 100,000 students will have access to it. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 3 Iranian Christians get 42 years of prison time Three Iranian Christians have been sentenced to a cumulative 42 years in prison for their involvement in Christian activities. The Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced a pregnant woman named Narges Nasri to 16 years. And two men were also given harsh sentences.  Abbas Soori got 15 years and Mehran Shamlooei received 10 years for organizing a house church in Tehran.  According to Open Doors, Iran is the 9th most difficult country worldwide for Christians. 3 men arrested by KGB in Tajikistan Also, The Worldview received news that three men were arrested by the KGB in Tajikistan last week, for simply possessing Bibles and meeting to worship on Sunday.   From last report they are still in prison. Remember our brothers and sisters in chains in your prayers.  Maine Univ. listens to Trump, bans biological men from women's sports The University of Maine has agreed to comply with the Trump administration's requirement that no men should be allowed to participate in women's collegiate sports. The U.S. Department of Agriculture had temporarily frozen $30 million of funding to the University of Maine's system comprised of eight universities. The USDA issued a press release announcing the change of policy on the part of the University of Maine, noting that “UMaine's decision to side with sanity is a win for women and girls in Maine.” However, the president is demanding a full-throated apology from Maine's Democratic Governor Janet Mills, reports The Western Journal.   At a February meeting with governors at the White House, Mills threatened to sue the Trump administration over the women's only federal policy, according to a video posted on X. 80 U.S. hospitals continue to mutilate kids in transgender surgeries Despite the U.S. president's recent policy statements to the contrary, almost 80 hospitals are still offering mutilation surgeries for children, reports the TransHealth Project.   On January 28th, President Donald Trump signed an executive order stating that “it is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition' of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.” Judge: Ban on drag performances is unconstitutional A federal judge ruled Monday that a Texas A&M University ban on drag performances is unconstitutional. Judge Lee Rosenthal, a female appointee by George H. W. Bush, argued that drag performances are an expression of freedom of speech, and should be allowed on public universities.  She further stated that “Shakespeare's literary works that, when his plays were written and performed, female characters were played by young men dressed in women's attire.” The judge also referenced to major motion pictures like Mrs. Doubtfire and Hairspray, in which cross-dressing was essential to the plot of the movie. Deuteronomy 22:5 brings out the moral principle that “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.” More men attending church than women That surprising gender gap of American church attendees has widened even more, according to the latest Barna poll. Now, preliminary numbers indicate that 40% of men attend church weekly, compared to only 28% of women. From 2000 to 2015, women attended church at higher rates than men. Then, from 2016 to 2021, men and women attended at about the same rate. Eating meals alone is mentally unhealthy And finally, Americans are increasingly eating meals alone.  Interestingly, 26% of Americans ate all their meals alone yesterday.  That's up from 17% two decades ago. The percentage of young people -- 20-35 years of age -- eating alone has almost doubled in twenty years. However, the Asian countries of Korea, Japan, India, and the Philippines, are the nations least likely to share meals. The World Happiness Report claims that “Sharing meals proves to be an exceptionally strong indicator of subjective wellbeing – on par with income and unemployment. Those who share more meals with others report significantly higher levels of life satisfaction.”  Proverbs 18:1 warns of this: “Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, March 25th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Biden's EPA advisor admits $50B “insurance policy” against Trump, Judge gives Dept. of Government Efficiency massive win, PCA repents of helping illegals stay

It's Thursday, February 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus 74% rise in hate speech in India targeting Christians and Muslims While India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Donald Trump last Wednesday to discuss the threat of increased tariffs between the two countries, the Center for the Study of Organized Hate found a 74% rise in hate speech incidents last year in India compared to 2023. About 10% of the 1,165 incidents targeted Christians — a population that makes up just 2.3% of the population — while more than 98% of cases targeted Muslims, either alone or together with Christians, reports International Christian Concern. In John 15:18-19, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, be aware that it hated Me before it hated you. … Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” Judge gives Dept. of Government Efficiency massive win On Tuesday, a federal judge refused to immediately block Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency from accessing government data systems or participating in worker layoffs, reports The Guardian. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee, found that there were legitimate questions about the billionaire's authority, but said there was not enough evidence of grave legal harm to justify a temporary restraining order. The decision came in reaction to a February 13th lawsuit filed by 14 attorneys general in Democratic states challenging the Department of Government Efficiency's authority to access sensitive government data. But the Trump administration has maintained that layoffs are ordered by agency heads. Biden's EPA advisor admits $50 billion ‘insurance policy' against Trump In an undercover video that was released last December, Project Veritas revealed that the Environmental Protection Agency was frantically doling out billions of dollars before then President-elect Donald Trump took office on January 20th, 2025. The video revealed that Brent Efron, Special Advisor for Implementation at the EPA, was having drinks with a undercover Project Veritas reporter, bragging about how much hard-earned taxpayer money he was doling out to liberal climate groups. Listen. EFRON: “We've given out, like, tens of billions of dollars.” REPORTER: “The EPA has?” EFRON: “Like last year, like $50 billion.” REPORTER: “$50 million?” EFRON: “No. billion dollars. Billion with a B.” REPORTER: “$50 billion?” EFRON: “Yes, for climate things.” Shockingly, Efron described what they were doing at the EPA leading up to Trump's January 20th, 2025 inauguration as throwing gold bars off the Titanic. EFRON: “It truly feels like we're on the Titanic, and we're throwing, like, gold bars off the back end.” REPORTER: “Does it really?” EFRON: “Yeah.” REPORTER: “It's gotta feel weird.” EFRON: “It's weird. I mean, it's it's not good vibes. It's not good. I mean, everyone's very sad.” REPORTER: “Where are the gold bars going to?” EFRON: “Non-profits, states, tribes, cities.” REPORTER: “Anything, like, in the news that I would know of?” EFRON: “Not yet.” The undercover Project Veritas reporter wanted to know what would happen if the Trump people discovered what the Biden appointees were doing with the money. REPORTER: “What happens if they try to stop it? They can?” EFRON: “When they come in, if we haven't gotten out the door, then they can stop it.” REPORTER: “You've got like two months. If they don't get it out by a certain date. What's that date?” EFRON: “It's the inauguration, the 20th.  It's noon on the 20th of January.” REPORTER: “You can work right down to the minute?” EFRON: “It's probably like a little after noon. Yeah.” REPORTER: “Hey, throw a couple billion here or there.” EFRON: “It's until the Trump people come in and tell us we can no longer give out money.” REPORTER: “Wow!” Efron also said, “We gave them [the nonprofits] the money because… it was an insurance policy against Trump winning. Because they aren't [a government agency], they're safer from Republicans taking the money away.” Trump's EPA Administrator found $20 billion siphoned away by Biden's people Lee Zeldin, Trump's Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, was horrified by this revelation, reports The Western Journal. ZELDIN: “An extremely disturbing video circulated two months ago featuring a Biden EPA political appointee talking about how they were tossing gold bars off the Titanic, rushing to get billions of your tax dollars out the door before Inauguration Day. The gold bars were tax dollars, and ‘tossing them off the Titanic' meant the Biden administration knew they were wasting it.” To his credit, Zeldin was able to recover $20 billion of our taxpayer money, according to his Monday video. ZELDIN: “Fortunately, my awesome team at EPA has found the gold bars. Shockingly, roughly $20 billion of your tax dollars were parked at an outside financial institution by the Biden EPA. This scheme was the first of its kind in EPA history, and it was purposely designed to obligate all of the money in a rush job with reduced oversight. “Even further, this pot of $20 billion was awarded to just eight entities that were then responsible for doling out your money to [Non Governmental Organizations] and others, at their discretion, with far less transparency. Just under $7 billion was sent to one entity called the Climate United Fund.” Zeldin explained what he intends to do now. ZELDIN: “Here's my position as EPA Administrator. The financial agent agreement with the bank needs to be instantly terminated, and the bank must immediately return all of the ‘gold bars' that the Biden administration tossed off the Titanic. “EPA needs to reassume responsibility for all of these funds. We will review every penny that has gone out the door. I will be referring this matter to the Inspector General's office, and we'll work with the Justice Department as well.” Presbyterian Church in America repents of helping illegals stay And finally, The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) recently issued a statement repenting for guidance on one of its websites that advised illegal immigrants how to avoid detainment by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, reports The Christian Post. After it went viral on X last week, the conservative Presbyterian denomination deleted a resource page titled "Refugee & Immigrant Ministry for Churches: Help Immigrants Facing 2025 Policy Changes.” It was published in January by Mission to North America, a subsidiary of the PCA. Megan Basham, author of Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded Truth for A Leftist Agenda, tweeted, “The verbiage of this document from the [Presbyterian Church in America] is overall emotionally manipulative, showing no respect for U.S. immigration law. It assumes that the only way you can love your immigrant neighbor is by helping him continue to remain in the country illegally.” After the guidance was deleted, Mission to North America Director Irwyn Ince issued an extensive statement of repentance. He wrote, "We affirm that it is our Christian duty to obey the lawful commands of the civil magistrate and be subject to their authority (Romans 13:1-4; 1 Peter 2:13-14). To counsel otherwise is a sin. We confess that we fell short of our Biblical and Confessional standard. We repent and apologize.” Indeed, 1 Peter 2:13-14 does say, “Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, February 20th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.
