This is bigger than Watergate in America. This is money laundering by a sitting president, potentially.” As for Trump stuck in a war he started: “Col Wyatt says: “...the answer here now is…rendition. It's Delta Force. Seal teams…grabbing these guys and rendered…that's the only way this is going to end, I think. They're not going to come to the table…this ceasefire has become a farce.” Col Wyatt also shares what he believes will be on the agenda for private discussions when Trump visits China soon. And he comments on the fuel supply crisis hitting South Africa as a consequence of the war and news that a tanker might be heading to South Africa. “But if you keep...poking the bear and he starts paying attention and being poked in the backside or in the ribs, they may turn around the Seventh fleet to intercept that tanker and they won't get those millions of barrels of oil coming to South Africa.”

If US President Donald Trump ends the war at the 60-day mark when he loses the legal ability to continue without the approval from Congress, Iran will have been defanged only temporarily. That is the view expressed by US intelligence analyst, retired Colonel Chris Wyatt in his latest interview with Chris Steyn. “I think that at the end of this, we're probably going to see that Iran won't be a threat to global security and will be a much smaller threat and menace to its neighbours for three to five years. But if this regime doesn't go, they'll simply restart all over again. And that means that Trump will accomplish defanging them, but not destroying them. And once he's out of office, this will be someone else's problem.” Col Wyatt warns that unless the Iranian people rise up and institute their own government, the Iranian regime “will survive in some form” and “we don't know where that uranium is to my knowledge, and we've got to find it. That's a problem. So if this regime stays, they'll take that uranium, they'll pull it out of someplace. If they can, they'll start trying to enrich it again, and the threat will remain.”

Trump has a long-term strategy here… the rogue states… the friends of the African National Congress have been taken off the chessboard one piece at a time. Nicolas Maduro wanted for criminal acts and for supporting terrorism and drug trafficking was extradited back to the United States. That regime has been hobbled. Cuba is being strangled. They no longer have any ability to influence things. Now it's Iran. So that's three of the ANC's friends. That really just leaves Russia, China and Brazil still on the map. Brazil will be dealt with eventually. The leader of that country is a convicted felon. He will eventually be dealt with by his own people. In the meantime, they're no threat to anyone. Russia is engaged in a war it cannot win because it's a foolish approach. China is doing nothing...” Col Wyatt adds that the three Iranian ships that participated in South Africa's BRICS exercise recently “are now at the bottom of the Arabian Gulf”. You want us to attack South Africa? …There's a lot that could be done to South Africa. As strained relations between South Africa and the United States continue to hog the headlines, US Intelligence Analyst retired Colonel Chris Wyatt warns that President Cyril Ramaphosa will have to cut a deal with President Donald Trump to repair the discord. “I think that he's going to have to make some kind of concession vis-a-vis Afrikaners or minority South Africans of some sort.” However, that could cost Ramaphosa support in his own party. “I think that Ramaphosa is in a difficult spot and I can't wait to see what comes from this conversation between Trump and Ramaphosa because it could go well, it could be a disaster or it could be a complete disaster and I'm concerned that we might be a complete disaster. If Ramaphosa goes to America and tries to lecture Trump, he'll be shown the door like Zelensky was.” Meanwhile, Wyatt also warns Afrikaners who want to gain refugee status in America, to keep quiet about their plans. “…there are people with malicious intent on the left and the right politically in South Africa who are not happy about this refugee programme, Afrikaners who don't like it and others on the other side of spectrum who don't like it. So my advice to those people is to shut your mouths, loose lips, sink ships, World War II phrase…you have to have what we call operational security in the military.” Wyatt further decribes the unprecedented racial tension he has witnessed on his latest visit to South Africa. “This whole situation with the refugee programme causing all kinds of consternation and it's emboldening people. But it's not just the refugee programme. In my view, it's also the expropriation without compensation.”

Wyatt to begin his new endeavors in his post-military life.  There is so much jam-packed into this episode and we are very excited to share it on today's edition of The Culture Matters Podcast.

In his latest interview with BizNews, US intelligence analyst retired Colonel Chris Wyatt comments on US President Donald Trump's pick of his former “big opponent” Brent Bozell III as Ambassador to South Africa. “…around in 2016, he called him (Trump) the greatest charlatan of them all, a huckster and shameless self-promoter.” However, “he's probably the right guy to be honest for this position… someone who's not quite as antagonistic regarding issues related to South Africa.” As for why Joel Pollak missed out on the posting, Wyatt says: “…maybe he knocked himself out with his reporting on South Africa.” Wyatt also gives his take on some of the possible candidates for SA Ambassador to the US, including Tony Leon, Lindiwe Sisulu, Bantu Holomisa, and Velenkosini Tlabisa. Meanwhile, he warns of a huge exodus from South Africa. “…I can tell you at least 120,000 people we've got information on have submitted a request to the American government to find out if they can participate in this programme. If you take that for an average family of four, we're talking half a million people - and there are a lot more people who expressed interest in it…if they're allowed to come here, it will be devastating to South Africa's economy.”

In his latest interview with BizNews, United States intelligence analyst, retired Colonel Chris Wyatt, calls the City of Johannesburg's decision to rename Sandton Drive - where the US consulate is - in honour of Palestinian activist Leila Khaled “an own goal of epic proportions”. He says: “It's being done now intentionally to insult the United States…it shows you just how venomous some politicians are in South Africa.” He also gives his take on the expulsion of SA's US Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool for race baiting, and berates members of the government for “constantly lying about things”. Wyatt says US President Donald Trump has been “incredibly reserved” in his actions against South Africa. “…and his reward, constant bombardment; being called the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan by the EFF who can't even spell Ku Klux Klan. You know, it's beyond the pale.” He further comments on Trump pulling Hunter Biden's Secret Service Protection after he was spotted with his detail on holiday in Cape Town.

South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa poked “the bear in the eye” and gave “the middle finger” to the US when he signed the Land Expropriation Bill. This was the reaction from US inteligence analyst Retired Colonel Chris Wyatt to the announcement by President Donald Trump that he was cutting US funding for South Africa. Reacting to subsequent news that Ramaphosa was looking forward to meeting Trump, Colonel Wyatt said: “But he wasn't asking or hoping to meet with Trump 24 hours ago. Now, was he? Isn't that strange how one tweet changes the entire game? So, you know, Trump is playing three dimensional chess and the ANC is playing checkers. Who do you think is going to win.” Col. Wyatt maintains that South Africa also doesn't deserve the benefits of the AGOA - and charges that the African National Congress (ANC) “runs around like there are no consequences to their actions”.  He predicts there are tough times ahead for South Africa. “…We finally have a new sheriff in town who is not going to let America be taken for suckers…the ANC is ignoring us and we're giving you tons of resources and money and there's a risk to this. So I think what's happening here is that Trump has put down a shot across the bow to warn the ANC that we won't tolerate this.”

Some in the inner circle of US President-elect Donald Trump are rather irritated that South African-born Elon Musk is acting like he is co-president. But in this interview with BizNews, retired US Army Military Intelligence Officer Colonel Chris Wyatt says: “I wouldn't lose any sleep over Donald Trump being steamrolled by Elon Musk…Musk may be making lot of waves right now…(but) You will see that if he is being disruptive in a way that Trump doesn't like, he'll be pushed backwards a little bit.” As for Musk apparently turning his hand to US foreign policy by meeting with a leading Iranian official, Wyatt says it “came as a bit of surprise to folks on this side of the Atlantic”. However, he does hope that Musk will nudge Trump to do something about the loss of US influence on the African continent. “if…he puts a little earworm in Trump's ear about Africa or South Africa, then we're likely to see some action in Africa”. Commenting on AGOA and the African National Congress' (ANC's) resistance to US meddling in its affairs, Wyatt says: “If you don't want us in your business, then don't take money from us. You're taking plenty of money from Tehran and from Beijing. Just go there and get it.” Meanwhile, he predicts that SWAPO is “next on the list” of long-ruling parties in Africa to be ousted in an election.

Kimberly Cheatle - who has resigned as the Director of the Secret Service - following the failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump should be charged criminally for negligence, dereliction of duty, and also perjury before Congress. This is the call from Colonel Chris Wyatt, the former Director of African studies at the US Army War College. “She lied. She told us they had no video footage of any of the agents or any of the activity that took place that day. That was a bold-faced lie. This woman is part of a cover-up. Now, I'm not saying that the government tried to kill Trump, but there's a clear cover-up to cover the backside of an incompetent or malfeasant or negligent Secret Service.” As for President Joe Biden finally exiting the Presidential race, Colonel Wyatt says: “What they've done here is they've run a fake election for the past 18 months to defraud the American people when they knew full well that Joe Biden did not have the mental acuity or the health to be serving as President for another four years. He didn't have it for these four years.” He predicts that Vice-President Kamala Harris can't beat Trump in a free and fair election, but warns that Trump has made a mistake by picking J.D. Vance as his running mate. “He brings in people who are not loyal to his inner circle and then they betray him.” Meanwhile, Colonel Wyatt fears for the safety not only of Trump, but of Harris and Biden too.

The United States House of Representatives has voted for a full review of US-SA relations, but  retired Colonel Chris Wyatt, the former Director of African Studies at the US Army War College, says he does not believe the US will remove South Africa from AGOA because it is really just a “soft power foreign policy tool to win us good favour, give us access to places”. However, he says that South Africa should be “warned” that its conduct is detrimental to US national security interests. “South Africa has been getting a free pass for several years,” he says, listing the reasons why South Africa does not even qualify for AGOA . “And you know what? The ANC is welcome to do what they want, but this is a gift. They've gotten this far with their lifelong commitment to the PLO, to Hamas, to Hezbollah, to Iran, to Russia, to Communist China.” Colonel Wyatt - who observed the recent elections in South Africa - says he doesn't see the African National Congress “changing” - and doesn't think there is anybody in any of the parties in the Government of National Unity (GNU) “that can actually influence” the party to change its foreign policies. We chat about the craftsmanship and collaboration behind a set like a fire-damaged Windsor Castle. Working for the Oscar-winning production designer Martin Childs and with art director Chris Wyatt. Luke and the team designed the ravaged interior with blackened floors, half-destroyed paintings and twisted timber. “Everything starts with the script,” according to Luke, and then drawings, sketches, models… until everyone is happy. A painstaking process and fascinating to hear all about it. Tune in for more.
