In the last NdB Sunday Show of 2025, United States Intelligence Analyst, retired Colonel Chris Wyatt gives Chris Steyn his take on major political developments involving South Africa over the past year: from internal upheaval to military disaster on the Continent and diplomatic warfare on the international front. Commenting on evidence led at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, Wyatt says: “…there's a niché market for criminality in South Africa. And it all starts…with BEE. It all gets linked to that and then the lack of law enforcement.” Giving a blow-by-blow account of the breakdown in SA-US relations, Wyatt slams accusations that the US is “attacking” South Africa. “The US hasn't attacked South Africa. You want us to attack South Africa? …There's a lot that could be done to South Africa. And what the US could do to South Africa today is far greater than sanctions…If the US wanted to hurt South Africa, we could crush the country overnight. That's not the goal of America, but that's what South African politicians keep telling everybody. Stop that. It's not helpful.” Col Wyatt, who has advised the National Security Council on SA, reveals what his current recommendations would be. He also has some words of advice for the African National Congress (ANC), and gives a damning verdict on SA's lack of defence capabilities. “The South African military cannot perform its primary mission, and that's to patrol the waters around South Africa. They can't do that. The US Navy has a better presence around the Horn of Africa…”

Du Preez relates her court experience of the judge who has been arrested for corruption. And she gives her take on the latest crime statistics that show that 63 South Africans are murdered every day.

In the latest edition of the NDB Sunday Show, Chris Steyn is joined by Security Strategist and retired Interpol Ambassador Andy Mashaile. He reveals how General Nhlanhla “Hurricane” Mkhwanazi had warned politicians in a speech at a Parliamentary dinner in 2011 already that he was coming for the corrupt. “And when I look back at what he meant on that day in Parliament, the Minister of Police was Nathi Mthethwa. I am sure also when they look back, they realise that he really meant what he was saying. Him having taken on the Minister didn't start on the 6th of July…He did warn politicians that when you do wrong things, I will come after you because I am a police officer.” Mashaile can still recall the shocked silence that followed. “Now referring to the politicians, the clinking sound (of knives and forks on plates) died instantly.” Mashaile does an in-depth performance appraisal on General Mkhwanazi, and lists all the objectives that the General has achieved since his Press Conference. Mashaile outlines the reasons why he would like to see General Mkhwanazi as National Police Commissioner. “I will tell the President… This is the man that the country needs. This is the man who has what it takes.” He predicts that should the general be appointed to the top job, there would be an exodus of corrupt cops. “…people are going to sweat or people are going to take earlier retirement packages”. Mashaile also comments on the conduct of the various role players in the police and political capture saga, including that of forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan.

Even if it feels weird, is imperfect and hard, still practice the Sabbath as it has SUCH great benefits. I believe that choosing to do a longer period of rest each week is an act of trusting God. And learning to trust God is far more important than getting one more thing accomplished off your to-do list.  First part of this episode is about how I practice the Sabbath and includes mindsets to adopt in order to keep the Sabbath holy and walk in obedience in this command of God.
