In today's Daily Fix:Sony is raising prices yet again—this time to PlayStation Plus. The gaming subscription service will go up to $10.99 for a one-month subscription, and $27.99 for a three-month sub. This obviously did not go down well with PlayStation gamers, who have already suffered through PS5 console price hikes. Many are even questioning why a subscription is even necessary to play online games. In other news, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has revealed the latest change to the brand, this time from 'Xbox' to 'XBOX' (note the all-caps). This follows the results of an online poll she posted asking fans if they prefered the regular capitalizaton or the all-caps look. And finally, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has revealed that the original Borderlands underwent a last-minute art style change that cost the company a year in development and an extra $50 million. As part of IGN's 30th anniversary celebration, we're giving away 30 free IGN Live tickets a day. Nintendo stock has dropped 34% since the beginning of 2026, with another 8% plunge after they announced a $50 price hike on the Switch 2. In today's Daily Fix:Earlier this week reports have suggested that Nintendo's shareholders want the company to raise the price of the Switch 2. Looks like Nintendo has listened, and the console will go up in price by about $50 worldwide, although the U.S. has until September until the new prices takes effect. Despite strong sales, the global RAM shortage, tariffs, and new military conflicts have done a number on the games and tech industries, with Xbox and PlayStation having already raised their hardware prices several times. In related news, Sony has revealed they're taking a $765 impairment loss on Bungee following the launch of Marathon. The title reportedly has a budget of around $200 million, and looks to have a long road ahead before profitability. And finally, Resident Evil Requiem shadow-dropped new DLC last night: Leon Must Die Forever, an action-oriented minigame with roguelike elements starring Leon S. Kennedy. Capcom has teased more DLC to come.
Crimson Desert's success has lead to the developer gave every employee a bonus, while Capcom is celebrating success between both Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata.
