Tertulia con Paul Tenorio, Alfredo Somoza, María Trisac y Dani Blanco.
Mark celebrates the impending arrival of a certain Spanish center back (5:32), before Payton marvels at Barcelona securing their 28th la liga title win, via a memorable golazo in the Catalan derby (10:40), and then celebrating said title, even in a meaningless losing effort at home against Villarreal (45:04). Then, Mark discusses some subpar but ultimately winning efforts for Madrid against Mallorca (26:20), and Sevilla (37:49). Plus, the boys look ahead to the weekend games, with Barcelona taking on Athletic Club (56:20), and Real Madrid hosting Real Sociedad (58:56).
What a week for football as teams end historical trophy draughts for their clubs. Mainly, Crystal palace lift an FA cup while Bologna lifts a Coppa Italia. In other leagues, Yamal is still on top form proving to the world he is a front runner for Ballon D'or. We also gave our final match day predictions as the PL and Serie A top race becomes contested.

Alexi Lalas and David Mosse are fired up as American stars continue to make waves in Italy. Christian Pulisic delivered a goal and assist in AC Milan's 3-1 win over Bologna, while Weston McKennie set up Randal Kolo Muani in Juventus' draw with Lazio. The Serie A title race is heating up, with just one point separating Inter Milan and Napoli. In the Netherlands, PSV moved closer to securing the title after a comeback win over Feyenoord, with Malik Tillman and Richard Ledezma starting. Over in Germany, Dortmund crashed Xabi Alonso's farewell match, as his Real Madrid future comes into focus. After the fourth El Clásico of the season, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti officially announced he's headed to coach Brazil. Despite a hat trick from Mbappé, it was Lamine Yamal and Raphinha who powered Barcelona to victory. Where does Yamal stack up in the Ballon d'Or conversations? Back home, MLS delivered drama: Philly and Columbus drew in a top-of-the-table showdown, Diego Luna bagged his 7th goal in 11 matches, Minnesota dominated Inter Miami, and Brian White notched a brace to lift Vancouver. In #AskAlexi, the guys discuss the LA Galaxy possibly moving on from Greg Vanney and dive into the costs of World Cup tickets. It's time for The Truth!Today, Sam and Dougie are looking at how Hansi Flick's slightly surprising appointment at Barcelona last summer has turned into a masterstroke, and how the German has immediately brought the Blaugrana back to the top table of European football with a string of youngsters and some of the most exciting attacking football on the continent. There were question marks about Flick after his ill-fated tenure with the German national team, but his record at club level speaks for itself. And yet, when he was appointed at Barcelona to replace Xavi last summer, there were plenty who felt that this could be a step in the wrong direction for a Barcelona side mired in debt and already one step behind fierce rivals Real Madrid, who had just won La Liga and the Champions League, and then gone out and signed Kylian Mbappé, who was widely considered the best player in the world. But Flick took Xavi's possession-orientated philosophy and made it more direct, more streamlined; put his faith in the youngsters emerging from La Masia; and turned good players into superstars - all whilst staying true to his own brand of football and putting perhaps the boldest style of football in Europe on display for all to see. So was this a stroke of luck that the players matched his philosophy, or has the former Bayern treble-winner worked his magic again on another squad willing to do whatever he needs for them to get to the very top? Well, The Truth is somewhere in the middle... This week, Alexi Lalas and David Mosse break down one of the greatest UEFA Champions League semifinals of all time — a 7-goal extra time thriller between Inter Milan and Barcelona. Despite a heroic showing from Lamine Yamal, it was Inter's Davide Frattesi who sealed it with a late winner, sending the Serie A giants to the final against PSG. The guys also cover PSG's dominant win over Arsenal and preview the massive Champions League final showdown. Over in Europe, Americans abroad keep battling. Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah take on Bologna in Serie A ahead of the Coppa Italia final, and Folarin Balogun is back on the scoresheet as Monaco prepares for a key clash against Lyon. Stateside, the U.S. Open Cup heats up with MLS clubs in control. Messi and Inter Miami head to Minnesota, while LAFC face off with Vancouver in a Western Conference showdown. In #AskAlexi, the guys debate which CONCACAF team – club or country – is most likely to win a World Cup trophy.

Hello Rank Squad! After one of the most intriguing, exhausting, exhilarating semi-finals that the competition has ever seen, Inter will be in the final after finally dispatching Barcelona with a knockout blow, just moments after they had dragged themselves off the canvas themselves. 4-3 on the night, 7-6 on aggregate, this was one of the best games of football we have seen in many a long year, two sides who just traded punches for 210 minutes until a victory bell was finally rung, in favour of the home side. We discuss the momentum swings of a game that saw Inter take a 2-0 lead, before going down 3-2 with just moments to go, the late equaliser from the most unlikely of sources - Francesco Acerbi - before more drama in added time saw Davide Frattesi once more come up with the goods to send Simone Inzaghi's weathered old warriors to Munich - where they will face one of PSG or Arsenal. There's also some talk about what the future outlook is for a Barcelona side who have come a long way this year, and who perhaps just lacked a tad of experience when it mattered most, as well as why Inter feel like this could be there year to claim a long-awaited European crown - it's been 15 years since that famous night in Madrid. All that, and loads more, including Dean's experience watching Beckham & Friends on Paramount, on the show. It's Ranks! Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. Barcelona has not had historical success against Inter or against any Italian clubs for that matter, but they've got to find a way to win today at the San Siro to advance to the Champions League final. After the 3-3 draw last week in Spain, Barca could get Robert Lewandowski back on the bench while Inter might see Benjamin Pavard and Lautaro Martinez back in their group. With only 5 wins all-time in 24 matches in Italy in European competition, and only 1 win in 6 games against Inter in Milan, the odds are stacked against Barcelona today. Simone Inzaghi said he will add to those stacked odds by doubling on Lamine Yamal. Dani Olmo said that Yamal has handled that well and it will lead to Barcelona having a free man so stay tuned. Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Round of 32 starts tonight with 16 MLS teams entering the tournament. Yes, we want all of them in the tournament again and we want the roster rules to be expanded to make that a comfortable process. Please get it done for next year. Interesting matchups tonight include DC hosting Charleston in the Coffee Pot Cup (DC players smashed coffee pots in the locker room in Charleston when they were knocked out of the tournament in 1999), Chattanooga Red Wolves travel to Nashville, while Charlotte travels to Cary to face North Carolina FC. Reportedly, an agreement for Carlo Ancelotti to leave Real Madrid has been reached. Brazil says that they want to name their new coach by next week at the latest, while Madrid wants to see if they can get Xabi Alonso in place before the Club World Cup. You know, your usual telenovela continues in Spain. Also, Madrid wants to get Trent Alexander-Arnold in place before the Club World Cup and might be willing to pay Liverpool to get his transfer done ahead of the tournament rather than when his contract ends in June. Still waiting on news as of press time about the CAS ruling on Club Leon and the Club World Cup spot, that should be announced today so we will know who will face Chelsea on June 16 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Upset last night in the Georgia high school playoffs as previously unbeaten Brookwood were knocked out in the girls quarterfinals by Buford 2-1. Johnson of Gainesville had to go back to Calhoun to finish their Round of 16 boys match that was suspended Friday night due to weather, they lost their lead but came back to win 2-1. Now after a 3.5 hour trip back and forth from Gainesville, they have to play against tonight in the quarterfinals. We'll update everything from around the state tonight after the Dalton-St. Pius match. Atlanta Soccer Tonight is live at 11pm on 92.9 The Game and the Audacy app. No Espresso tomorrow morning, we'll be back live on Thursday.

Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. The Vancouver Whitecaps continued one of the best starts to a MLS season in history by eliminating Inter Miami in the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions Cup last night in Ft. Lauderdale. Jordi Alba cut the aggregate lead to 2-1 early in the first half, but Vancouver broke the match open early in the second half with goals from Brian White and Pedro Vite. Sebastian Berhalter scored the last one to win the night 3-1 and the series 5-1. While lots of focus will be on the failure by Miami to get the job done, everyone needs to be praising this Vancouver team and giving them credit.Berhalter will miss the final due to yellow card accumulation in a rule that Concacaf absolutely must change. It's outdated to have players miss finals due to yellow card accumulation and most competitions have changed when the cards reset to avoid this. Players shouldn't miss finals due to accumulation and it has to change going forward for Concacaf.Inter, who hadn't scored in 3 straight matches while getting knocked out of the Coppa Italia and losing the top spot in Serie A, led twice at Barcelona yesterday in an absolute classic of a semifinal first leg. A goal in 30 seconds was followed up by an acrobatic flying volley by Denzel Dumfries. Barcelona showed all of their quality to come back to level the match before Inter regained the lead at 3-2. Barca came back one more time and it finished 3-3, setting up a must-watch second leg next week in Milan. Lamine Yamal, who isn't even 18 years old yet, showed why he has to be in contention for the Balon d'Or right now with his outrageous goal and overall impact on the match. Simone Inzaghi, Inter's manager, described him as a player who comes along every 50 years. On a day when both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's sides were eliminated in Champions League competitions, Yamal showed that he might be the next entrant in the GOAT sweepstakes with a legend-making sort of performance. Europa League semifinals start today with tiny Bodo/Glimt traveling to London to face Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United going to Bilbao to face Athletic Club. If the entire town that Bodo/Glimt calls home traveled to the match in London, they couldn't fill Spurs' stadium. But they've become one of the big stories over the past few years as they're dominant in Norway and have beaten Ange Postecolglu before when he was at Celtic. As for Manchester United, the pressure is on to win the Europa League in order to play in next year's Champions League and perhaps have the financial wherewithal to revitalize their roster and the club's future. The Carlo Ancelotti telenovela carries on with most everyone now saying that when the La Liga title is out of reach, then we'll get a resolution. The Clasico date on May 11 with Barcelona is like the next big circle on the calendar. Some outlets say that Brazil will wait on Ancelotti. Anything is possible at this point, with some even saying that Ancelotti might end up in Saudi Arabia at Al Hilal if their manager Jorge Jesus ends up becoming the Brazilian manager instead of him. Hello Rank Squad! That was absolutely breathless and chaotic, and so the podcast looking back at it is too. We try our best to get to the bottom of an anarchic game of football between Barcelona and Inter that started fast and got wilder from there, and one that ended with the two teams locked at three goals apiece. We discuss how Inter might well go home the happier side, even if Barcelona had the best of the chances; Lamine Yamal's dazzling performance in Blaugrana; the importance of Denzel Dumfries and Marcus Thuram's returns from injury; why the game played out as it did; how they could possibly replicate it in the second leg; the differing waves of emotion throughout the game - and of course, we rank the goals because that's what we do. There's loads more inside as well, so get stuck in! It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?

Hello Rank Squad! It's time for this week's first Champions League Takeaway - looking back at Tuesday's Quarter Final second legs, where both PSG and Barcelona emerged with qualification intact, but with their reputations bruised and having been handed on-the-night losses by Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund, who were both excellent. In the absence of Dean, who is flying back to San Diego, Jack is joined by football podcast royalty in Mike Zimmermann - to talk through both of the games and discuss the ramifications in more detail. We start with Aston Villa's impressive 3-2 win over PSG, where the Parisien favourites were given an almighty scare in the second half by Unai Emery's charges, who managed to break free of PSG's impressive counter-attacking hold after the break, going hell for leather and finding themselves some Gigi Donnarumma magic away from taking Luis Enrique's men to extra time. Then in Part Two, we head to the Westfalenstadion, where Dortmund had very little to lose, but managed to expose the Barcelona high line enough to give the Yellow Wall plenty to shout about. Serhou Guirassy's hat-trick had Barça very worried for a time, and although the Catalans progressed, they were subjected to defeat in a single game for the first time in 2025. It's Ranks!
