Åttiotalet var ett speciellt årtionde på många sätt, inte minst när det gäller musiken. Därför var det nu dags att återvända till denna tidsepok. Förra gången jag gjorde besök i detta decennium var det djupdykningar år för år, medan jag denna gång delar upp årtiondet i två delar. Den första delen, som spänner mellan åren 1980-1984, är helt logiskt först ut.  Efter ett sjuttiotal som nyss gått i graven var det nya decenniet fullt av energi och framtidstro, något som också märktes i all fantastisk hårdrock som såg dagens ljus dessa år. Följ med på en resa tillbaka till de fem första åren i det gyllene decennium som präglat så mycket av den hårdrock vi ser idag.

Volgens Mujagic blijkt uit berekeningen van de centrale bank in de Amerikaanse stad Cleveland dat de werkloosheid op moet lopen tot 7,4 procent om het gewenste inflatieniveau van 2 procent te bereiken.  'Dat is een verdubbeling van de huidige werkloosheid, en een verdubbeling zonder een recessie gaat moeilijk', vertelt Mujagic. Terwijl alle ogen op Rusland en Oekraïne zijn gericht, is ondertussen ook een nieuw klimaatrapport gepresenteerd. Een rapport met als boodschap: het moet echt nu gebeuren. Het is wederom een tik op de vingers wegens een gebrek aan actie. Het nieuwste IPCC-rapport benadrukt dat 40 procent van de wereldbevolking al zeer kwetsbaar is en dat de klappen het hardst gevoeld gaan worden in landen die zelf amper bijdragen aan het probleem. Die klappen gaan sneller dan gedacht zorgen voor onleefbare plekken en er ligt volgens de onderzoekers een grote verantwoordelijkheid bij de rijke landen om te investeren in klimaatadaptie en in ondersteuning van de armere kwetsbare landen en gebieden. Over de natuur zegt het rapport dat het sommige ecosystemen al niet meer lukt om te corrigeren voor de opwarming. En dat zelfs als we niet over de 1,5 graad opwarming gaan een verlies te verwachten is van 3 tot 14 procent van alle soorten. Wordt het 2 graden of zelfs 3 graden warmer, dan kan dit richting de 30 procent van alle soorten gaan. Meer dan de helft van de wetenschappelijk onderzochte soorten is al bezig zich te verplaatsen naar koelere gebieden.  De volgende klimaattop staat gepland voor dit najaar. Dan wordt onder andere de financiële kant besproken. Of rijke landen bijvoorbeeld meer zouden moeten betalen voor klimaatverandering aan armere landen. Dit was vastgesteld op 100 miljard dollar per jaar. Dat bedrag zou veel te laag zijn en wordt overigens op het moment niet eens gehaald. Meer nog dan in het vorige deel van dit rapport - dat eens in de zes tot zeven jaar verschijnt - wordt benadrukt dat de tijd dringt.
