Our Seattle Seahawks are kicking off free agency with five starters and two more key players potentially hitting the open market in two weeks at the start of the new league year. We run through some of the challenges general manager John Schneider faces with keeping each player and take a look at some of the projected salaries by The Athletic and Pro Football Focus. Kenneth Walker may have the biggest gap between how Seahawks fans would value him vs how he may be valued by another team, but a close second could be Boye Mafe. Mafe is considered one of the top 5 edge rushers in free agency, but his play time was limited in 2025 due to the play of Demarcus Lawrence and Uchenna Nwosu and Derick Hall. The amount of potential turnover in the secondary area of concern. Tariq Woolen, Josh Jobe and Coby Bryant are all expected to see contracts upward of $10 million per year and closer to $20 million per year in the case of Woolen. Is that the best use of salary cap dollars to try and keep all three? How would we prioritize? We take a look at the exclusive rights free agents and what that designation means as well as the restricted free agents and the one starter who stands out. In the second half of the show, we talk about potential rule changes (and the lack of rule changes) that are being discussed in Indianapolis. We could see a greater emphasis placed on officiating from the booth than on the field for certain calls. We call out the Los Angeles Rams and Augusta National on news that came out this week about both. Better at Life honors go out to a company innovating battery technology and to YouTube for being a place to find Patriots fan tears, Niners fan tears and Rams fan tears all in one spot. Super Bowl 60 Review Game Review - Seahawks won their second SB in franchise history beating the Patriots 29-13- Pats punted on their first 6 drives of the game - Jason Myers kicked 3 FG in the first half to give the Seahawks a 9-0 lead - Kenneth Walker had a 30 and 29 yard run on one of the drives that were huge plays for the Seahawks - After another Pats punt in the 3rd, Seahawks take get another FG to go up 12-0 - At this point in the game I was thinking would there be any TDs in the game - Both defense were playing with their hair on fire - Drake Maye was under siege the entire game, didn't play well - Darnold didn't play that good either, but he did great job managing the game - At the end of the 3rd quarter Maye is sacked by Derick Hall and DT Byron Murphy recovers the fumble - Getting the ball at NE 37, the Seahawks finally put together a drive and score a TD 16 yard AJ Barner TD - At this point I knew the game was over- However, on the next drive, Maye hits Mack Hollins on two 30 yard bombs to cut the deficit to 19-7- Seahawks punt on their next drive - Pats after the punt, gets the ball back, and Maye throws a terrible pick to Julian Love - Seahawks get another FG to go up 22-7 - Next Pat drive, Maye throws the kiss of death pick 6 to Uchenna Nwosu to seal the game Biggest Takeways From the Game - Seahawks winning this proved you don't need a young genius offense coach to win a SB - Seahawks defense really were the MVPs of the game, Pats really sustain any drives all night - Drake Maye put up one of the worse playoffs runs for at least 3 games in a postseason since 2000 - With hindsight, you would think a defense of coach is going to make a young QB feel uncomfortable and that is what happened Winners and Losers
The Seattle Seahawks are now two-time Super Bowl Champions and it still feels surreal. We're continuing the celebration with a full walkthrough of the win over New England and a preview of some of the major offseason topics. Seattle set the tone early, flipped field position through elite special teams, and leaned on a dominant defense that consistently harassed Drake Maye. Kenneth Walker kicked off his campaign for MVP early and the offensive line established their physicality on the first play of the game. Some outstanding plays by the Patriots defense kept Seattle out of the end zone in the first half, but Jason Myers was still able to help build a two-score cushion going into the half. The defense continued to overwhelm New England in the third quarter and held them scoreless. The contributions throughout the game included sacks by Devon Witherspoon, Byron Murphy, Derick Hall and rookie Rylie Mills. As Maye continued to get rattled, it led to key turnovers. Julian Love called his own interception as we saw in the mid'd up version of the Super Bowl. Byron Murphy recovered a fumble that led to the Seahawks only offensive touchdown by AJ Barner, and a Witherspoon pressure gave Uchenna Nwosu a score to match the Seahawks offensive touchdown output. We tackle the debate around Sam Darnold's performance—praised for poise against pressure and also criticized for a missed end-zone throw and a completion percentage that was among his lowest of the season. Offseason questions emerge along the way. How does Seattle sustain a title run? How should they handle some key free agents like Josh Jobe and Tariq Woolen? Do they need to approaches their big-money extensions for JSN and Witherspoon before making some of the more difficult decisions. Coaching and organizational themes surface too, from Mike McDonald's game planning and halftime adjustments to the team's continuity of culture. The episode closes with shout-outs to our members of the flock, listener emails, parade moments, and a nod to Jody Allen as the steady hand atop a championship organization. That's it. The final game. The final show. And somehow the Seahawks defense chose absolute violence. In the Super Bowl LX recap, we relive a first quarter that flipped everything on its head — three takeaways, a pick-six from Uchenna Nwosu, and six sacks led by Derick Hall and Byron Murphy II. If you like quarterbacks running for their lives, this was cinema.Next, we settle what truly matters: the Prop Bet Draft. Caleb sneaks out a win 14–12, and yes, we go through the receipts. Coin toss, touchdowns, punts, Gatorade, all of it. Some brilliant. Some painful. Some we'd like back immediately. In our personal segments, Derek revisits his Drew Lock prophecy… which technically came true, just not exactly how anyone imagined. Meanwhile Caleb takes a moment to shout out Jordy Frahm knocking off No. 1 Texas because history deserves its flowers. We close the book with the awards:
The Alabama Crimson Tide and The Auburn Tigers squared off Saturday at Neville Arena. Alabama Basketball overcame a double digit first half deficit to beat Auburn Basketball 96-92. For Alabama, guard play was tremendous down the stretch as Labaron Philon and Aden Holloway combined for 40 of Alabama's 96 points. With the win, Alabama is now in a tie for 5th in the SEC with 6-4 record. The Auburn loss in Neville Arena to Alabama is the second in a row and three of the last four to their arch rival. Why does Alabama play so well in one of the more difficult environments in the SEC? Nate Oats gets asked about Aden Holloway's 9-0 run at the end Steven Pearl - this loss had nothing to do with our offense and everything to do with our defense. Steven Pearl also gets asked about Aden Holloway's late 9 points The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl Champions after dominating the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX. On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett welcomes Mike Garafolo, NFL Network, his regular Thursday contributor and former Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu. Puck starts off the show recapping the World Series and the disaster that the Yankees were as they self destructed and blew Game 5. Now that the season is over, Puck shifted his attention to the Seattle Mariners and what is in store for them this offseason. Lots of holes to plug for the Mariners, especially in the infield and the free agent market is weak. Will they be forced to trade one of their young starting pitchers? Puck sure hopes they don't go down that road. Mike Garafolo, NFL Network joined the show for his weekly visit and Puck and Mike immediately jumped into the upcoming NFL trade deadline which will be on election night. There have been rumors that D.K. Metcalf could be traded and interest has been drawn to Seattle for his services. Mike immediately addressed those rumors and reports. Who else could potentially be on the move in the NFL? Doesn't it fee like this year in the NFL is as unpredictable as it has ever been? Puck and Mike discuss the state of the NFL. What's the future of Aaron Rogers and the New York Jets? If they lose again, will Rogers just simply tap out on the rest of the season? Has his legacy been tarnished since going to New York. The show was interrupted because Mike couldn't believe that some kid had come to his house at 1:30pm to trick or treat on Halloween! They both agreed this violated the rules and regulations of Halloween and that you can't knock on someone's door before 4pm. Mike's Dad was at the house and came in to ask Mike where the candy was and then asked if he could just pay the kid cash instead of candy? Garafolo's wife also got in on the action and stormed into the studio to express her displease with trick or treaters starting this early! Once they got back to football, Puck asked Mike about the price tag for impending free agent quarterback Sam Darnold and would he be worth it for Seattle?Lofa Tatupu, former Seahawks linebacker joins the show to talk about the current state of the team. He sees one major issue with the offensive line and he thinks if they can fix that issue in their scheme they would be a much better unit. Fascinating take on the offensive line. Lofa also hints that the Seahawks defense could be too complicated at times for their current players, but he thinks they adjust fairly quickly. It was only one game to watch Ernest Jones play middle linebacker, but Lofa came away impressed with his style, speed and physicality. Much was made of the spat between Derick Hall and Jarran Reed, did Lofa have a problem with what he saw on the field. Lofa talked to Reed this week and shared what Reed told him and what he told Reed. They also touched on the body langue of Geno Smith of late and whether or not that's been a problem. Finally, they previewed the upcoming game against the Rams and Lofa touched in on his business ventures Savage Brewery, 1937 Cannabis Farm and his All Day Podcast. Finally, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck introduced his brand new membership called “Puck's Posse.” A membership to exclusive content that Puck will debut in the following weeks, however, it does not affect the Daily Puck Drop or his daily guests.

The Seahawks have traded LB Jerome Baker and a 2025 4th Round Pick to the Titans for LB Ernest Jones IV. How does this shake up the Seahawks defense and how can Ernest IV fit better than Baker? Headline Rewrites: The Chiefs are the latest team to add a wide receiver, acquiring DeAndre Hopkins in a trade with the Titans for a conditional 5th rounder in 2025. The Rams would reportedly absorb part of Cooper Kupp’s salary if LA finds a willing trade partner before the November 5th deadline. LeBron and Bronny James took the court together for the very first time in a regular season game last night in the Lakers’ opening night win over Minnesota. Seahawks OL Abe Lucas and George Fant have been designated for return to practice and now have a 21-day window to return to the active roster. On this week's episode with Rob Staton from SeahawksDraftBlog and Jason “Puck” Puckett on the Seahawks latest win over Miami to improve to 3-0 in the NFC West and a two game lead in the division, the effectiveness of their defense, and the importance of the running game…it's not dead! They touch on the performances of Derick Hall and D.K. Metcalf and they discuss how well the defense has played to start the season, but the challenge gets much tougher against the Detroit Lions next Monday Night . Offensive line continues to be an issue for the team particularly the play of Anthony Bradford and why the team did not put in Christian Haynes into the game?
They Seattle Seahawks are far from a perfect team at this point, yet through 3 games their RECORD is. Just one of 5 undefeated NFL teams, how are the Seahawks doing it, and is it sustainable? Today I'll tell you why I think what's happening on defense WILL allow this team to continue to compete (and possibly contend?) week in and week out the rest of this season. And among the players performing well on that side of the ball, is one emerging as a potential star? I'll dissect some film to illustrate the step Derick Hall has taken early in this, his second year as a pro. Derick Hall, Seahawks LB joins Ian to talk about the Seahawks style of defense and how he's operating within the 'violence' that Coach Macdonald is preaching. He talks about his growth from rookie season to this year and what his family means to him. His foundation, which reflect his own story. We discuss the step forward Hall looks like he's taking and what kind of character he brings to the locker-room. It's time to talk Mariners, as unfortunate as things are going. Are you rooting for a run, or an implosion? Ian wants the Mariners' hand to be forced to make a change. BREAKING: The Seattle Kraken agree to an extension that will keep him here for seven more years worth $7.4 million annually. Ian sees it as a team friendly deal. Joe Sheehan, The Joe Sheehan Newsletter joins Ian to try and make sense of what's going on with the Mariners. He's happy we're still even talking baseball. Why can't they hit? He likes the Victor Robles signing, but even he's fallen off of late. We go hindsight on the moves at the trade deadline. Joe doesn't want the baby thrown out with the bathwater. The Astros deserve credit for their resurgence in the latter half of the season. Jerry Dipoto had a massive fail this offseason and it's hard to fathom them missing the playoffs without major changes. The worst thing that could happen for fans is missing the playoffs by a hair and nothing happening. Best case is they actually make the postseason. The Daily Power Play! Mike Benton joins Ian to discuss the Kraken locking up Matty Beniers for the next seven years. :03 - Ian clarifies what this Matty Beniers signing tells him about the front office's thoughts of him heading down the road. There are quite a few reasons to root for Derrick Hall this year. Ian gives you the best and worst scenarios for the Mariners down the final month and a half.

Things to get excited about: Pitt County Little League Softball World Series champions, US Gold Medal victories. Things to NOT get excited about: Seattle Seahawks' dominant preseason performance under new coach Mike McDonald, and the Seattle Mariners' recent sweep of the New York Mets, praising acquisitions like Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner. Tuning into "Hawk Blogger Mornings" hosted by Brian Nemhauser, featuring Brady Henderson from ESPN.com, the Seahawks No-Table chat about the preseason opener under new head coach Mike McDonald, specifically their victory against the Los Angeles Chargers. The conversation touches on specific players like Sam Howell, who seemed more impressive during the game than in practice, contradicting his previous training camp performances.
