The ANZ Premiership is reaching the halfway point and some selections in the match between the Northern Stars and the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic raised some eyebrows. A T20 cricketing revolution is officially underway in New Zealand. The governing body is backing the proposed NZ20 privatised franchise league as a preferred option for the domestic game next season, which already has major association and players' association support. NZC say the decision is in principle only. Players Association CEO Heath Mills told Mike Hosking the level of interest in the competition and potential teams has been encouraging. He says New Zealand is institutionalised to believe we're too small or don't have enough money for a league, but other, smaller economies such as the West Indies have had incredibly successful leagues. One of New Zealand sport's biggest powerbrokers is stepping down. NZ Cricket Players Association boss Heath Mills has announced today that he will be leaving in June, after 25 years with the association. Mills says the time's right to step down, as he wants to focus on his new role as executive chairman of the World Cricketers' Association. "The time's right for me now to step aside as CEO of the New Zealand Players' Association. Pro Football Hall of Fame FieldAugust 2, 2014AENEAS WILLIAMS: I'll just take a moment to soak this all in.  The moment to be here, and I will start out by telling you this, how in the world do you go from walking on your junior year a week before the season starts, your junior year at the Southern University, that's right, Ohio State, it's the Southern University.    There are so many people that I could thank, teammates, coaches, mentors.  There will be some I'll call, but some I just want to right now up front say thank you so much to every teammate at Arizona and every teammate in St. Louis. Netball NZ and Dame Noeline Taurua are headed for a legal showdown after both sides have failed to reach an agreement. Yvette McClausland-Durie will continue as coach for the Constellation Cup. Former Silver Ferns head coach Yvonne Willering told Mike Hosking that this is now an employment matter, therefore the Players Association isn't involved in the matter. Ross' final thought was to discuss some trades the Suns chose not to make when they dealt Kevin Durant.   Miami made an offer that the Suns turned down and everyone shared their thoughts on why Phoenix made a better deal with Houston.  Phoenix also could have made a deal where they acquired an unprotected #1 pick from New Orleans next season in the Durant deal and everyone feels like the Suns will regret not doing it. 43:06 ...
