12th Man Roundtable with IAN FURNESS and HUGH MILLEN What were the first impressions of the Seahawks in the week 1 loss and what are the concerns? What happened to the play action pass and what did we think of Klint Kubiak's performance? The defense had some good moments, but there were some struggles as well and yes, we have to talk about Woolen. :30- We are back with more 12th man roundtable: The Seahawks reunite with DK Metcalf this weekend. :45- We wrap up the roundtable with predictions and one last thought from Hugh. RUNDOWN Plenty of sports heartbreak — from the Dolphins' ongoing struggles to the Seahawks' gut-punch opener. But there is relief in the Mariners' explosive bats and the Huskies' video-game offense, before shifting gears to launch the annual Beat the Boys contest, presented by Fireside Home Solutions. Listeners get the scoop on how to re-register, this year's lineup of “the boys” (including a new addition, Jason Puckett), and the all-important first password. Along the way, the guys swap birthday trivia, share a Pink backstory you won't forget, and set the stage for a packed show of Seahawks, Mariners, and college football talk. Mitch and Hotshot dive into the Seahawks' frustrating Week 1 loss to the 49ers, where Sam Darnold's quiet debut and Riq Woolen's costly miscues overshadowed a defense that couldn't quite finish the job. They debate Mike Macdonald's decision to kick on a crucial 4th-and-1, the missing downfield threat without DK Metcalf, and whether Seattle's “smashmouth” identity is more talk than reality. Shifting gears, the guys celebrate the Mariners' offensive eruption — 28 runs over two games — that keeps them two games up in the Wild Card race with 19 left, 13 at home. Hope rises in Seattle, but fans have learned to brace for heartbreak. Mitch welcomes Brady Henderson and Jacson Bevens to dissect Seattle's 17–13 Week 1 loss to the 49ers. The defense largely held its ground, limiting San Francisco to 17 points, but the offense sputtered behind Sam Darnold and a conservative game plan. The panel debates Mike Macdonald's critical fourth-down decision, the ongoing frustrations with cornerback Riq Woolen, and the lack of offensive balance despite Jackson Smith-Njigba's breakout. Mitch sits down with Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas to break down a much-needed rebound weekend for the Mariners. With Julio Rodríguez heating up, a rotation trying to steady itself, and 13 of the final 19 games at home, the M's are still firmly in the postseason race. The crew debates Seattle's playoff odds, the outlook for Jorge Polanco's contract, and the development of young catcher Harry Ford. Plus, they preview crucial upcoming series against the Cardinals and Angels as the AL West chase tightens. Rick Neuheisel joins Mitch to recap an eventful Week 2 in college football, from South Florida's upset of Florida to Oregon's early dominance behind quarterback Dante Moore. The two dive into Florida's coaching hot seat, Jedd Fisch's future at Washington, and why Arch Manning's mechanics and rhythm remain under scrutiny as Texas gears up for the SEC gauntlet. Neuheisel also hands out “Chicken Caesar soft tacos” to standout players and duos across the country before making his Week 3 pick: Texas Tech to roll big over Oregon State. On today's Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is joined by Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy, The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar and Bill Krueger, host of the “Old School Baseball” podcast. The show opens with Puck and Jim discussing the Seahawks loss to the 49ers and Puck and Jim disagree on if the Seahawks blew the game or if the 49ers were the better team. Jim is celebrating because he collected $20 bucks off Puck on his Jalen Milroe bet, which Puck said he would only take a snap this season in the red zone…what a foolish bet! They also touch in on the Cougs being 2-0, the M's road trip and Puck describes a dinner from hell! Michael-Shawn Dugar, The Athletic joins Puck every Monday to talk Seahawks football and the react to the Seahawks week one loss and what led to it vs. San Francisco. They agree that the receiving core is a problem, but Mike says it's been a problem since camp. Puck and Mike try to understand why they activated Jalen Milroe and then don't elect to use him late in the game. Also, Riq Woolen had a rough game and once again his effort level is questioned. Can someone like Woolen ever get better at that?Puck goes back to baseball to catch up with another Monday regular, Bill Krueger, “Old School Baseball” and they chat about Seattle's 3-6 road trip, but it did end on a positive note with winning the last two in dominating fashion. Julio continues to mash the baseball and has again joined elite company as his torrid second half continues. Bill reacts to George Kirby purposely hitting a Rays player and says there is no place in the game for that behavior. Why are the Mariners pitchers struggling so much this season with opposing teams picking up their signs? Bill says it's all about the glove placement and how they are gripping the ball in their glove. Real detailed breakdown from Bill. Plus, why is Harry Ford here and what is there plan for him? Finally, how has Dan Wilson done in his first full year at the helm? Bill says there is a lot to like, but much room for improvement. Puck wraps up with, “Hey, what the Puck!?” Don't panic Seahawks fans after week one…at least not yet. Our Pivot training camp tour continues as the 2025 NFL season is quickly approaching and we make a stop to catch the Seahawks practicing with Green Bay as Seattle is looking to get back to the postseason being one of the top NFC teams. Ryan, Channing and Fred are sitting for a Sunday Special with NFC West powerhouse and star players Demarcus Lawrence and Jaxon Smith Njigba who give us a glimpse into what the season holds ahead. Coming from Dallas, Demarcus is very clear why he made the change entering his 11th season, what he's found with his new team and sheds light on his former team's contract headlines all summer. Jaxon is excited to see the arm of QB Sam Darnold and line up with the Super Bowl Champion Cooper Kupp, shadowing his veteran leadership and work ethic. Seattle overhauled its offense with new faces—Darnold along with Kupp and new coordinator Klint Kubiak, as JSN looks to lead the offensive core grounded by the run game and supported with a deep threat. On defense, expectations are high with a revamped line featuring D Law, anchored by a talented secondary of Witherspoon, and Woolen) setting up a top-tier defensive outlook. Seattle's preseason has been encouraging—dominant rushing performances, strong offensive cohesion under Kubiak, and a deep receiving group are all signs Seattle is looking to make that postseason push this year. Snowmageddon came and we conquered! This morning's roads were a mess with surprise snow, but we made it in, yet again and we are undefeated this week! The Kraken managed to tie the game late in the 3rd period to send it to OT and a shootout, but once again, the shootout is our kryptonite. Is the late comeback for one point considered enough of a success to implement Tubthumping as the Kraken song, or are we still on the hunt for our “Gloria?” :30- Our Super Bowl Series continues with a look at the defensive backs. We look at the Chiefs and Eagles through a Seahawks' lense to see what changes might need to be made to get ourselves to the SB. The Seahawks were once known for DB's with perhaps the most famous group of DBs in NFL history. Can we get back to Legion of Boom form? How far away are the Hawks with Woolen, Witherspoon, Bryant, Love et al? :45- Myles Garrett and Cooper Kupp are on the trade market! The Rams informed Kupp they're trading him and Garrett informed the Browns they're trading him. Could either one of them end up in a Seahawks uniform?

This is an incredible Made in America story of bringing woolen textile manufacturing back to the US - specifically back to New England. In this episode, Ari talks to Jacob Long, President of American Woolen Company, about his passion for creating a story and a community around the American wool industry. They discuss the idea of 'craft' manufacturing - similar to the craft beer movement, Jacob believes there is a sizeable market for craft textiles. Not only can it be a source of pride for an area, but a way to bring back old traditions and make new ones. Ari and Jacob discuss the commoditization of apparel with its economic, social, and environmental implications. Jacob also talks about the challenges of entrepreneurship, having the tenacity to stick through the challenges, and finding the right core audience for your product.
