I have spent most of my life trying to understand who I am, what I want, and what is most important to me. Until recently I was on a journey of trying to fix myself, until one day I realized that if I was always trying to fix myself, I would always need to be fixed. I believe the answers to all your problems are in one beautiful place that is often ignored or misunderstood and that place is inside of you. You have the answers, you hold the key and you are the only person that can change your life. My job is to introduce you to the one person that can help you, meet YOU! Kelly T. Smith is a Mind, Body & Wellness Practitioner with a certification in Life Coaching & Hypnotherapy. She has been trained in a variety of holistic healing modalities as well, such as: NLP, holistic nutrition, past life regression therapy, homeopathic remedies, essential oils, psychology of intuition, energy healing and many others. Her mission in life is to help you realize your fullest potential, find your hidden gifts and to break free from limiting beliefs that keep your true self hidden. Power. What exactly is it, who really has it, and what does it mean? For Kelly, it’s the ability to enact change around himself. For Frank, it’s being aware of power’s corruption, and how we avoid its seduction. We all have our own definitions of power. The question we have for you is How Much Power Do You Give Power? How much time and space have you given to the powers that control you? Or, do you believe that you are your own center of power and nothing can manipulate it? How do you maneuver through this power hungry world? We try to look at how a man's rise to power has shifted and unearthed the entire landscape of America. Blanket generalizations of groups of people will not work to solve these questions. We try to dive deeper into the psyche of the silent powers that run this country. Giving awareness to hypocrisy destroys ignorance. There’s a distinct difference between poetry and just words. As Audre Lorde wrote in 1978,“The difference between poetry and rhetoricis being ready to killyourselfinstead of your children.”
What’s holding you back from achieving success? This week, Kelly invites business coach Judy Weber and second-year business student Kailee Popowich to join her and ask questions on the show. Kelly addresses Judy’s concerns related to hiring a successful team. She provides insight on what to look for in potential employees, communicating your needs during the interview process, finding interns, and looking for people who strive for long-term success in their career, with an end goal of advancing to the top. She discusses how to overcome both the fear and money block associated with hiring new team members, the difference in hiring helpers versus owners, and why it’s crucial to go all in on your employees. For Kelly, going all in and bearing the risk is key to creating the rewards for her team, her clients, and ultimately herself. Kelly and Kailee chat about resilience, overcoming obstacles you might face as a business owner, and interpreting failure as feedback. Reflecting on her time as a senior VP during the 2008 crash, Kelly talks about her determination to pivot her strategy and achieve goals without laying off a single employee. For Kelly, giving up wasn’t an option. She dives deeper into the skills she learned as a leader during that time and how her resilience impacted her leadership skills today. Tim Ferriss Show Podcast Notes Key Takeaways Telling kids they need to do better won’t motivate them. They need a goal and a purpose that will set them straight. For Kelly, once he decided the wanted to be an astronaut, he started taking school a lot more seriously: “There has to be that thing, that inspiration, that spark, that just provides inspiration to get people moving in the right direction. And that’s what Tom Wolfe’s The Right Stuff was for me.” – Scott KellyAn important life lesson from Scott:“How good we are when we start something is not related at all to how good we can become at anything” – Scott KellyYou’re going to experience failure on the road to success, it happens to everyone:“Failure is an option…It’s something that we all probably experience and, hopefully, we learn from it and move forward.” – Scott KellyThe most successful people tend to be the ones that push themselves and fail often:“I always feel like if we’re not always moving that bar higher and risking failure, then we’re not really reaching our potential…The people that are really successful are the people that are willing to take the risk of failing.” – Scott KellyGoing to Mars would be expensive, but NASA is a great investment. They provide high paying jobs to scientists and create new technologies that can be used in other industries.“NASA is a moneymaking prospect in that it generates more tax dollars than it uses. A mission to Mars would be the same thing. A mission to Mars would develop technologies that we may not have today.” – Scott KellyA message to everyone: The Earth is NOT flat“If the Earth was flat, wouldn’t the edge be the most popular tourist attraction on Earth? I would just go set up a taco truck and make a billion dollars with my edge-of-the-Earth tacos.” – Scott Kelly Read the full notes @ podcastnotes.orgScott Kelly — Lessons Learned from 500+ Days in Space, Life-Changing Books, and The Art of Making Hard Choices | Brought to you by Rokform rugged cases for iPhone and Galaxy, Athletic Greens all-in-one supplement, and 99designs global creative platform. We got into the discussion of things we used to think were disgusting but now love. For Ben, it was mayonnaise. For Kelly, it's guacamole. The reason why we used to hate them is the kicker..
Self-described as one-dimensional and intense, pre-coma Kelly loved her job, her colleagues, her award-winning real estate company, and working hard. Always pushing forward, evolving her business was top of mind. Then the unexpected. After a long workday, Kelly didn’t feel well. She knew something was terribly wrong. A series of admissions, readmissions at different hospitals, and a lack of diagnosis, Kelly was close to death. With multiple organs failing, Kelly was placed into a medically-induced coma. Kelly felt isolated and alone. The day Kelly emerged from her coma, she was alone. Her husband asked for a divorce. Never afraid of a challenge, Kelly fought her way back to health and recovery while raising her three-year old son and maintaining a hand in her company. Kelly’s recovery took 3 years and a lot of grit. It wasn’t without challenges and some humbling moments. Kelly was surrounded by a supportive, loving community. She also discovered her internal strength, noting that until we are tested, we don’t appreciate our own strength. “You are stronger than you think” Kelly’s near-death experience allowed her to discover who and what she loved. Where she should focus her time and effort. Kelly became spontaneous and learned to have fun. She discovered balance. Kelly’s divorce provided the freedom to create a life she loves. For Kelly, it was her opportunity to find her way back home, making peace within herself despite the surrounding chaos. While recovering, Kelly had no ability to read social cues. Deciding that she wanted to sell her company, Kelly confidently reached out to and secured a meeting with Barbara Corcoran. Armed with expert advice and the out that Kelly was seeking, this meeting was a pivotal moment in Kelly’s business and recovery. This paved the way to Kelly’s career in speaking and to authoring her first book, Building a Dream Team. Kelly founded Arras Sisters with the goal of building community - a tapestry of women - and helping women share their stories. Women need to share their voice. For themselves, their families, and communities. Kelly’s passion is helping women discover – and be proud of - their voice. Sharing stories is essential and will break down barriers. Stories provide a survival guide for those who are struggling and seeking resources to help them through their healing. In turn, telling our own stories is essential for our own healing. “Feeling seen and heard and knowing we matter is essential” People are afraid of telling their story for fear it doesn’t matter, or they may be suffering in shame or embarrassment. No matter the essence of your story, when you are ready, share your story. Not only is it a release for the story-teller, it’s the light that someone else seeks. “Your story can change the world” The women surrounding Kelly are her source of inspiration and hope. Kelly finds fulfillment in watching women evolve their stories and their businesses. Kelly is grateful for her journey; helping women find their voice and share their stories has been the biggest gift. Learning to listen, and discovering patience – for herself and others – have come through her healing. Taking the time to hear and understand others has been transformational and opened Kelly’s eyes to the beauty, strength, and power within those who surround her. Kelly’s greatest hope is that people find fulfillment and lose their shame. I wanted to share a success story with you in this episode. Just a month ago, Kelly approached me to help her get more microblading clients. She had a new microblading studio and she got a few clients here and there from her Instagram page, but it was inconsistent and unpredictable, so she was looking for a better way to fill her schedule. Also, she didn't have a lot of photos of her work since she was new to the business – so we created an introductory offer to help build her portfolio, which was a $197 initial treatment plus $75 for touch up, so $275 in total. And what happened next blew my mind: we received so much interest so quickly that Kelly got fully booked first for July, then for August, and now for September as well. And today is July 30 and people have to wait 2 months for an appointment! I mean how crazy is that?! She went from 3-4 appointments a month to getting booked out for the next 2 months. We even have a waitlist and more than 150+ people interested in the treatment. And it all happened in just 4 weeks! It's crazy when I know that there are many microblading studios out there struggling to get clients – when, in fact, there are a lot of people looking for their services, and it's all about marketing! If you want to get more microblading clients, I have 3 tips for you: 1. I used Facebook ads to get clients for Kelly. I see microblading ads from time to time on Facebook but many times they focus on the features, not the benefits. What I mean by this is that many microblading studios talk about their technique, the nano hair strokes, rather than the benefits for the client, for example, they can enjoy water proof, smudge proof brows 247 for the next 2 years, that they don't have to fill in their brows every morning and so on. So kinda like selling the journey, not the destination. Like a travel agency talking about the trip to get to the Bahamas, rather than talking about the amazing holiday in the Bahamas, with massages, candle lit dinner on the beach, 247 room service and so on. People don't care as much about the journey as they care about the destination itself. I know for us in the beauty industry it's exciting to talk about the different techniques, but look at your ads from your clients' perspective. 2. FB advertising is like marriage. Here's what I mean by this: If you ask someone on the first date to marry you, you have a 99% chance of hearing a no. But if you propose after dating someone for several months, then your chances are much higher to get a yes. Back to FB advertising, I see so many PMU studios and spas that want to “marry” their clients after the first contact. Meaning that the call to action is “book an appt” right after seeing the ad. If this is your strategy, you have a 99% chance of getting a no – meaning that 99% of the people who see your ad won't take you up on your offer, simply because they want to learn more. For this reason, I structure my campaigns in a totally different way. If someone is interested in the offer, all they have to do is provide their contact info and we'll follow up with them. I have a team of booking agents who call the leads. Also, I have a follow up system in the backend that includes several emails and text messages. When it comes to text messages, I realized that the more conversational, the better and people tend to respond to texts that don't feel too promotional. Most people have a few questions before they book their appt, so this way, we have the opportunity to “date” our potential clients before they commit. That's why I can get so many bookings for my clients in such a short period of time. 3. Clients are interested in the microblading technician as well, not just in their work. Most microblading ads that I see show the finished brows – which makes sense. However, I like to stand out with my ads so I like to do things differently. For Kelly, I tested different images and actually the one where she's looking at the ca

For Kelly, I tested different images and actually the one where she’s looking at the camera, smiling, while working on the model’s brows was the most successful. It’s a bit funny because obviously it’s an unnatural pose, I mean who would be looking in the camera when working on a client, but this image worked incredibly well. So my last tip is, think outside the box. Do things differently than your competitors and stand out. Alright, that’s it for today, I’m going back to work on some client campaigns. If you’re interested in working with me and getting 20-30+ booked appointments guaranteed, every month, I’m dropping the link to my program page in the show notes and feel free to apply for a complimentary Strategy Session. My guest is Spirit Baby Medium and Medical Intuitive Kelly Meehan. Kelly has a MFT with a specialization in Somatic Psychology from Santa Barbara Graduate Institute. She also has a podcast titled Spirit Baby Radio. Additionally, Kelly has training in Energy Based and Somatic Based modalities such as: Reiki I, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Infant Massage Instruction/ Parent Education, and Yoga with Mini Yogis (children’s yoga teaching certification). She has completed the training for the advanced levels of Integrative Energy Therapy (IET) I, II, and III. Kelly has authored a book titled: Sacred Communication - A Spirit Baby Journal, which you can order directly from her website. Kelly uses her intuitive sensitivity of Clairvoyance and Clairsentience to support women/couples all around the world that are looking to connect in a deeply spiritual and awakened way on their fertility journey. Kelly calls herself a Spirit Baby Medium and offers a loving service that focuses on spirit baby communication in conception, energetic fertility healing, medical intuition, pre-birth connections in pregnancy, and spirit communication for all areas of pregnancy and baby loss: miscarriage, stillbirth, and termination for any reason. As a medical intuitive she can intuitively connect with her client's body by seeing, sensing, and feeling into their energetic patterns/information from the physical, emotional, and spiritual areas of their being. The book: Medical Intuition - A Science of the Soul - Your Awakening to Wholeness by C. Norman Shealy MD, PhD defines medical intuition really well - "A medical intuitive is not a street psychic or carnival barker who can 'see the future'. A medical intuitive is exactly that---a person who has the ability to interpret energetic data often includes behavioral patterns, archetypal patterns that govern the souls path, life traumas, and then there is the presence of physical illness as well as the illnesses that are in the process of developing." Kelly's work began with her own healing journey when she was diagnosed with Lupus at age 25, after suffering without a diagnosis for 10 years. She was taught that most scientific autoimmune issues are not curable. That once you have it then she would have to deal with remissions and flare ups for the rest of her life. Kelly's gut instinct told her that this could not be true. For Kelly, Science is not an accurate craft. She began with acupuncture and every other natural treatment from Wobezyme to Moducare. She did it all! It was the energy medicine work and more spiritual divine work that got to the very dark root of her illness and had allowed the unwinding into wellness and health freedom. She cured herself and has the bloodwork results on paper to prove it. The cure was NOT an overnight process. She worked on herself at least 10 years to clean her physical body, the mind of thought patterns, and unloaded new energy into her spirit for awareness and healing. Check out Kelly's website for more information. IG @spiritbabymedium Contact Kelly at soulbabycommunication@ gmail.com. https://www.soulbabycommunication.com
Kelly says In 2008 when the housing market imploded her husband’s livelihood as a general contractor went up in flames and suddenly she and her husband in their 50’s were facing some tough decisions. Her husband had always been involved with cattle part-time but never as a sole source of income. Faced with few options they decided to start raising cattle full-time and training horses as their main source of income. For Kelly most of her life was spent in the food business; distribution and working with restaurants and chefs now she was coming full circle as an actual producer. While this was all old hat for her husband it was a radical shift for Kelly but she was in good shape and open-minded which is what everyone in their 50’s needs to do to create a new life. Building a barbed wire fence was tough, even the full 30 miles of it, ride working cow horses, doctoring cattle and running the business were too but her quiet desire to write a book, her memoir came to fruition - ‘The Princess Rancher’, was picked up by a publisher and her dream of being an author came to fruition. The story chronicles the tough reality of starting over in your 50’s and what it was like for her to go from a cushy, easy existence into the hardworking world of a rancher, typically a man’s world. As a result of her total change Kelly developed thesevenkeysystem.com “How to Change your Life” which you can find on her website kellygraywilliamsbooks.com During this podcast Kelly offers numerous excellent tips for anyone wanting to identify what they can do going forward and the most important being, ‘be kind to yourself’ during your period of change.

Kelly Morris has guided thousands with her unique ability to bring forth the truths with yoga and meditation. In the wake of one of America's greatest tragedies on September 11, 2001, Kelly was chosen as the cover story for New York Magazine, as a leading light + voice of compassion at a time of great violence, fear and confusion. Kelly created The Infinity Call—a one-of-kind daily meditation experience for women around the world. It’s A LIVE broadcast for women only M-F, each session is available for 24 hours and then vanishes. The Infinity Call has been featured in the WSJ, One Kings Lane, InStyle, The Coveteur, Well + Good and many more. As you’ll see in this interview, Kelly is direct, frank, empowered by compassion, but mostly, LOVE. She’s like no other meditation or spiritual coach you’ve ever worked with. What got you into meditation? Kelly has been a lifelong practitioner of yoga. She has also done studies of a certain kind and has been involved in spiritual practice. Kelly believes many yoga teachers, practitioners and a lot of people in the spiritual field do not meditate. This is because most of them haven’t been taught how to meditate properly. She was brought up and raised in a patriarchal society. She wanted to break shackles and oppose the concept of a system, society or government where men get control of everything. For Kelly, the answer lied in meditation. Through meditation, she was able to achieve a greater sense of self-consciousness for herself and for women around her. Today, she is leading a live broadcast day in day out by the name of ‘The Infinity Call’. What is ‘The Infinity Call’? Kelly believes it is difficult to start a meditation practice at home due to various reasons. Kelly started Infinity for all call which is only for women. The Infinity Call is a live broadcast that women can join from any corner of the world. It is a live guided meditation that is led by Kelly herself and the focus is to increase self-consciousness through meditation and enable women empowerment. Women can have one to one meditation session via telephone, Skype or even an in-person session if they are from New York City. Kelly says hundreds of women have joined this program. We live in a world that is actually not safe for women and Kelly hopes to make this world a safer place for women through this program. Why do you believe meditation is so important for you and for everyone else? Kelly believes that for many people meditation does not seem like something very revolutionary. This is because the whole concept of meditation revolves around an individual sitting in a corner and chanting a mantra repeatedly and or perform a ritual in complete silence. Studies suggest that human beings generate a large number of beta brain waves during everyday life when we are mostly occupied with work and when our attention is towards the outside world. Beta brainwave state is associated with paranoia, anxiety, self-doubt, and depression. People who are prone to depression or anxiety are not able to produce GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) neurotransmitter. People who are addicted to certain things like drugs, gambling or sex are also unable to produce GABA neurotransmitter in large quantity. Studies have indicated that people who meditate are able to produce high amounts of GABA neurotransmitter. Therefore, meditation can help people suffering from depression, anxiety and drug addiction. Why do you think positive affirmations do not work? Kelly believes unless you do not believe in that positive affirmation, it will never work for you. This is because you will not be able to produce the hormones and chemicals associated with that sentiment hence making it impossible for you to believe in it. If you want to raise your self-esteem and if you really want to believe in your abilities, you should first try to create the chemical consciousness inside of yourself, enable yourself to believe in it. You could do this by borrowing someone’s mojo, it could be some celebrity, your friend or a relative. How do you take your clients through a meditation session? Kelly trains her clients to retrieve their consciousness which is an individual’s greatest resource. Kelly intends to reach out to women across the world through The Infinity Call program. She says she expects women from different cultures, religion, race, country, socioeconomic status to join this program. Where do you feel your passion comes from? Kelly is deeply concerned with the ever-increasing number of women rape cases in America and around the world. She believes her true passion to work and for women, empowerment is due to the fact that women are constantly being persecuted in this patriarchal society and much needs to be done to stop this persecution. Kelly believes as a woman she can enable other women to look out for themselves, protect themselves and create awareness among other women who in turn can stand-up for their rights. Kelly believes women have the ability to heal the world. How can we connect with you? You can find more about Kelly and her work through her website. Starting an employee advocacy program is one thing. Keeping your employees engaged and sharing is another. On this episode of AMPlify, host Glenn Guadet chats with Kelly Shelton, Vice President of Marketing at Boostability. For Kelly and the Boostability team, employee advocacy was a no brainer but that doesn’t mean it came easily. They have put a lot of hard work and time into delivering valuable content and guidance to their employees that not only raises awareness of the brand but also gives something back to the employees. In his interview, Kelly shares the Boostability secrets to converting your employees into active members of your program and he discusses how to make sure everyone reaps the rewards.
We are back to our more rounded format for this episode on a variety of topics including anti-corruption enforcement across the globe, the new French anti-corruption law, Sapin II, the Agricultural Bank of China compliance enforcement action by the state of New York Department of Financial Services; how corruption influences as much as it pays money and individual accountability for corporate malfeasance is not a Democratic or GOP issue but a law enforcement issue. We end with a well-deserved one minute rant from the panel about what is in the front of their mind. Mike Volkov discusses the internationalization of anti-corruption enforcement. He refers to the comments from the ACI FCPA conference, by Kara Brockmeyer and Dan Kahn about the increasing international enforcement efforts against corruption. This extends far beyond cooperation but also to enforcement. Recent examples are VimpelCom and Embraer where other countries received proceeds from fines and penalties. How does a company begin to deal with this type of complexity? Who does it disclose to? Who does it pay? When will the US give credit for payments made to other countries and when does it not? Finally this year saw of the third joint DOJ/SEC week long training for foreign prosecutors put on in DC. How do such events assist enforcement efforts, particularly around cooperation and mutual assistance? For Tom Fox’s blog post, “Anti-Corruption Enforcement Has Gone International?” click here. Matt Kelly leads a discussion dive into the AgBank enforcement/sanction action. He explains what does it all means and then pivots into a discussion of where he might see state regulators such as the state of New York Department of Financial Services or state banking regulators becoming more aggressive if the Trump administration pulls back? He discusses how these issues may have relevance for areas of compliance other than bribery and corruption and if so how. Finally, he ends with a reverse states’ rights discussion of Democratically aligned states fighting federal roll back of rights and privileges through litigation. For Kelly’s posts, see post on the enforcement action involving the Agriculture Bank of China, click here. Jonathan Armstrong leads a discussion on the new French anti-corruption law, Sapin II. He discusses the genesis of the law and why prior French efforts at anti-corruption law and enforcement was so harshly criticized by the OECD. He articulates how Sapin II differs from the UKBA, FCPA, the Brazilian Clean Companies Act and other anti-corruption laws across the globe. He talks about where he envisions French enforcement efforts going and the whistleblower protections of the law. Finally he ends with the key piece(s) of advice for clients regarding this law Cordery is suggesting around this law. For Cordery’s piece on the new law click here. Jay Rosen takes us through a Paul Krugman NYT post on some of the invidiousness of corruption, focusing on the corrupting nature of compliance around undue influence. Rosen explains incentives more than anything else and how such incentives skew the marketplace. We consider whether Trump’s discussions with the Carrier Corp over jobs was unduly influenced recalling President Kennedy’s ‘jawboning’ of the US steel industry in the 1960s. He also discusses the remarks of Sally Yates at ACI national FCPA conference about individual accountability and how this is not a GOP or Democratic issue but a criminal enforcement issue. In the inaugural episode we discuss the following subjects: Mike Volkov leads a discussion of the unintended consequences of the Yates Memo/Pilot Program for internal investigations. We explore the issue of “de-confliction” where the government asks a company to halt its own internal investigation for the government to be the first to interview witnesses. We explore de-confliction in the context of a requirement of cooperation to gain the benefits of the pilot program and how such a request from the Department of Justice (DOJ) could lead companies to be unable to disclose to other agencies or to shareholders and keep a Board in the dark about the alleged wrongdoing. What does this mean for the company and the internal investigator? For Volkov’s post on conflicts of interest (COI) in internal investigations after the Yates Memo, click here. Matt Kelly leads a discussion on compliance and corporate governance. We explore the issue of compliance being involved in issues around pricing and sales in companies like Valeant and Wells Fargo. We discuss the role of compliance in areas outside of strict legal compliance but may move towards reputational risk, going into such areas as the new revenue recognition standards and executive compensation. For Kelly’s blog post on the intersection of CEO pay and Chief Compliance Officers (CCOs), click here. Jonathan Armstrong leads a discussion of funding and the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO), in the context of the recent announcement that the SFO has received additional or supplemental funding to investigate Unaoil. Why does the SFO need supplemental funding and how does it obtain it? What does all of this mean for the continued existence of the SFO in light of a former critic now being PM? Finally, Armstrong ties all of this into Brexit, his recent interview of Max Schrems and issues surrounding Privacy Shield. For Armstrong’s interview with Max Schrems, click here and Cordery’s FAQs on Privacy Shield, click here. Jay Rosen takes us through the compliance conference scene. For those of you who are avid attenders of the various conferences, he discusses some of the key differences in the types observed, such as the nuts and bolts types (SCCE) and others which focus more on commentary (FCPA Blog NYC Conference). He discusses the relative strengths of each and how a compliance professional should think about selecting one or more to attend. He ends with his thoughts on why compliance certification is a plus (or minus). For Rosen’s blog post Designing Your 2017 Ethics, Compliance & FCPA Conference Schedule, click here. Welcome! Today’s guest is Kelly Surtees, a consulting astrologer, teacher, writer, and editor. She works with clients and students around the world, sharing her infectious passion for astrology. With 14+ years in private practice, Kelly is warm, experienced, and insightful. She loves exploring astrology’s history and loves escaping into the ocean. Kelly’s specialty areas include career, life direction, health, fertility, love, health, and happiness. Kelly meets clients and lectures throughout the US, Canada, and Australia, though she makes Canada her current home. Connect with Kelly at www.kellysastrology.com What you’ll hear in this episode: Kelly made a conscious choice in her early 20’s to NOT have children. She grew up as the oldest of six kids, never really wanted her own, and always felt like her siblings were, in a way, her “kids.” Kelly was fortunate to have two aunts who were terrific childless role models and made it seem NOT weird or unusual. Kelly later married a man with two children from a previous relationship, so she does fulfil the step-mothering role. Kelly asserts that childless women have an important role to play in society today. Within any population around the world, there is a consistent 10% of women who don’t have children; this number is higher in some places, like the US, where it is as high as 50%. In the astrological community, TIMING is the major issue and has to be perfectly aligned for a child to result. One of Kelly's specialities is working with women who want to conceive, using charts to predict fertility potential and other contributing factors. Two main astrological factors that influence fertility are the moon and the fifth house. In astrology, the moon is an important factor for health and vitality; the determinant is what the moon phase was when you were born. Kelly explains the significance of the 5th house and 11th house and how the moon represents your unconscious self and private feelings. Start with knowing your moon’s sign. When we feel comfortable and safe, we have more confidence, strength, and courage to do more in the world. Kelly discusses the nuances of the stepmother role, knowing your partner has had the childbirth experience with another woman - a special experience that cannot be replicated. It’s unfair and inaccurate to call those without children “selfish.” From a young age, Kelly realised that being a parent and raising a family is extremely hard work. Kelly expresses her creativity through her astrology work and writing blogs, articles, and e-books. For Kelly, the major benefits of NOT having children are that she can delight in other people’s children, freedom with time and money, and overall flexibility. I do hope you enjoyed this fascinating episode with Kelly. For more about Kelly and her work, go to www.kellysastrology.com For more episodes go to michellemariemcgrath.com and subscribe on Itunes! Meet this week awesome studentpreneurs: Kelly Sturek 22 yo Business Student and Julianne Kopf 20 yo, Food Science Student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, co-founders of Bugeater Foods in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States. For more go to StudentPreneurPodcast.com Wrap Up: Each studentpreneur's story is different and what works for some people doesn't for others, however I'd like to point out of few things in Julianne and Kelly's journey that are similar to the studentpreneurs I have interviewed: Kelly and Julianne got started in very different ways, for Julianne it was her passion and experience in working in the food product development lab. For Kelly, it was more the passion to get a startup business, his parents being business owners probably influenced himself but he tried a lot of ideas, competitions to finally find a niche and team, so never give up. Like him, reach out to other clubs or societies to find the co founder you need. He is so motivated that he declined the internship offer at Microsoft. In the end Julianne and Kelly are lucky that their lecturers/boss really helped them out. Don’t be scared to mention your venture to your boss, as Julianne did, it can be a real advantage. Finally, another great example of leveraging incubator. Go out there and pitch your idea to your closest incubator.
