Good Place Season 4, Episode 9: "Michael snaps his fingers and Chidi wakes up. The end!" by An experiment from Dayla Learning
Carolina is a fellow podcast host at The Tog Republic Podcast, she is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Miami, Florida, and she's a marketing expert. Today she's sharing with us the 5 must-have web pages for your website and tips on what to include on each of those pages in order to attract your dream clients and repel the ones that aren't a good fit. This episode is sponsored by Freedom Edits. Get 30% off your first order by going to https://duck-cymbals-5b5l.squarespace.com/freedom (lightdarkco.com/freedom) Your website is one of the best tool to attract future clients, build trust and reliability. 1. Home Page or Landing Page Have your location on your home page. This will help with local leads as well as Google SEO rankings. Focus your home page on ONE niche of photography. You can have links to pages about your family photos or pet photos, but your main page should be what your main genre is. When you are choosing photos to display on your website, don't focus on the clients you've already worked with, you should focus on photos that would speak to your potential new clients. You should have testimonials all throughout your website. Pick certain testimonials that align with each webpage, and only include a line or two of their quote. 2. About Page This page should NOT be about you! It should be about how you can serve and guide your client through their problems and to their goal. Leave breadcrumbs all over your website. Point the user where you want them to go next. 3. Portfolio Page Have 20-30 photos that showcase your style, and how it feels to work with you. Don't let it sit stagnant, but update your portfolio at least every quarter. Have your social media icons at the bottom of your pages. Don't have them front and center. You want them to stay on your site without getting distracted with the sea of notifications. 4. Contact Page You need to have a page where people can contact you and inquire. Avoid using phrases like “Book Now” that imply a large step forward for the user. Instead use phrases like “Contact Me” or “See if Your Date is Available.” Don't have a super short contact form, but also don't have 100 questions in there. Carolina recommends having at least their names, phone number, email, wedding date, and throw in a question that they aren't prepared for, such as “What's your favorite TV show” or “Is a hotdog a sandwich”. These are simple and easy questions for them but it'll set you apart from all the other contact forms. Be sure to reference that extra question later when you contact them. 5. Blog Use your blog as a resource for your clients and potential clients in a way that helps them and guides them along on their journey. Answer some pain points and give your opinion on how they can have a more simple and streamlined planning process. Leave breadcrumbs at the end of each blog post that point toward other blogs or pages on your site that are relevant to that blog's topic. Good Place Season 4: Episode 4- "We all have a little squid demon inside of us." by An experiment from Dayla Learning
Original broadcast date October 8, 2020. The original podcast post is here: https://pixelatedgeek.com/2020/10/binary-system-podcast-237-welcome-to-night-vale-17-the-october-monologues/ It's the third of Welcome To Night Vale's Monologue episodes (yes, third, not second, shame on us for forgetting The April Monologues in 2016). Once more we hear musings from Michelle Nguyen at Dark Owl Records, Steve Carlsberg, and The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home. The theme for our SitRep this week is mostly us going "OMG did you hear who ELSE has caught COVID-19?!" So we lightened the tone to talk about the other things we're watching and which we HIGHLY RECOMMEND (the "How To Drink" youtube channel, "The Good Place" Season 4, and of course "The Haunting" and the "Haunting of Hill House", because it's October and we've got to have the horror.) This week's outro is Michelle Nguyen's current favorite song Karma Police by Radiohead. Well, part of it anyway; Michelle thinks anything after the first 26 seconds of a song is just padding. HOLY SHNIKEYS! Tommy Boy just turned 25 years old and it just so happens to be one of our favorite movies of all time. We thought we should bring someone on who loves this movie as much as we do, so we have one of our closest friends making his AI debut, our good college buddy, Brandon Miller! Before we talk with Brandon we talk about the last movies we've seen, what we're streaming and what we've been eating. We really break down this movie and spend the most amount of time we've ever spent on our “Show Me The Money” section, quoting almost the entire film. So many laughs are had, especially if you listen to the credits after the theme song. We had a great game of Last Man Stanton and then our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Road Trip Films! This episode was too much fun for us and we hope you have fun listening to it! This week we discuss the NBC show which we think is the smartest show on TV, The Good Place! We talk about the Afterlife. We also discuss how life is complicated and how the point system is definitely skewed.

This week we discuss the Moral Desserts and Moral Deserts of The Good Place Season 2. We both loved this season and think it was better than the first. We talked about how churches have become bogged down in moralism to be truly moral. We also talk about how do we be good. We discuss what good really means. We also discuss all of other projects going on! Music: http://Bensound.com --Funky Element
