Wherever you are today, I'm sending you spoonfuls of love. But if you are in a season of heartbreak, I am sending you giant, heaping measuring cups full of love, tenderness and encouragement.Nothing hurts like a broken heart. When our hearts are broken due to a break up or loss, we are walking around with an invisible injury. The ache in your chest can turn your mind into a hall of mirrors, and basic human functions like sleeping and eating suddenly become olympic level feats. When you relax into today's episode, you'll feel a healing balm seep into the sore corners of your heart. The places where your mind has been ravaged by critical thoughts will be gently sealed, and a fire lit for you to warm your hands by.No matter how long or short the relationship was, whether it happened two weeks ago or two decades; heartbreak is evidence of having loved. There is no shame in that, my dear one. I welcome you to this very human campfire we call heartbreak, to bask in the light of your own courage, and to receive the encouragement of all those who have gone before you on the path of learning how to love.If you'd like to go deeper with what you hear here, you can check out the Balm For A Broken Heart Support Kit here, which accompanies this episode. Forgiving something she can never forget came down to daily decisions and trusting God. "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locusts ate." Joel 2:25

It's normal for us to need time to ruminate and go over a romantic break-up in minute detail when we feel like we were the one who was dumped. Break-ups can definitely qualify as traumatic events and telling and re-telling the break-up story is a relatively normal reaction if it was traumatic for you. However, if you're telling the same story two or three months after the break-up to the same friends; feeling that you're more depressed than just sad; experiencing emotional pain that is keeping you from engaging in your normal routine, it's likely going to qualify as “too long.” Unfortunately, there's not a magic number for how many weeks or months it takes to get over a bad break-up, but if you find your thoughts are getting in the way of you moving forward and your friends are tired of hearing you complain, then those are two signs it's time to get yourself together and move forward. Tune in and learn how to overcome a broken heart!

Welcome back to The Other Side Of Perfect and Episode 1 of Season 2, I've been really excited to get stuck into this series. The guests that I have coming up have the most wonderful careers and truly captivating stories, and after each interview I walk away feeling utterly inspired so I know there's massive benefit in what they have to say. Similar to last season I wanted to kick things off with a solo show. It's been massively requested and I've no idea why, but my most listened episode was the one I did on my own covering my life story, career and how I got to where I am now. I figured it would be a lovely way to format things going forward and also reconnect with you the listeners. I would like to also take this opportunity to thank you lot for making the show land in the Top 10 Best Listens of 2019 in its new category on Apple Podcasts. Receiving that email from Apple was a lovely little moment, and this whole passion project has grown into something that I'm really excited to expand on in 2020. We also have some amazing new sponsors on board, and I want to let you know that I choose my sponsors as carefully as I choose my brand partnerships on social media, so these will always be relevant to my listenership and benefit you in some way. On today's show I discuss the real life stress you don't see on social media; my recent melt down, feeling overwhelmed and dealing with comparison. I wanted to sit down and have a chat about two of the most common topics that I'm regularly asked about through social media. I run through a variety of your anonymous questions about body image and break ups. Getting to a state of body neutrality; learning to love the body you have today, realising you have the power to change it if you're truly unhappy, weight fluctuations, period bloat, getting back on the bandwagon and my motivational tips. I also discuss healing a broken heart, trying not to focus on the status of your friends, improving your self esteem after a toxic relationship, and being single.Visit https://theothersideofperfect.com/Sponsor https://www.rainforest.ie/Today's show is brought to you by Rainforest Spa.
