On this episode of Indie Comics Spotlight, Tony welcomes Brad Filicky of DC Comics News and the DC comics news podcast network. Tony and Brad spend time in Texas and New York as they break down the unholy trinity of Vertigo Comics' classic Preacher. Creator-owned series from writer Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon (with all covers provided by Glenn Fabry). The series, based off an idea Ennis had while working on Hellblazer, tells the story of Jesse Custer, a down and out cursed/blessed southern boy preacher, a hard livin' Irish vampire (Cassidy) and the preacher's gun slinging ex-girlfriend (Tulip O'Hare) travel and fight the world to question The All Mighty Himself, as to why he quit his sacred task of caring for the world? Along the way a colorful cast of supporting characters walk into the story including a Cowboy who can kill anything (Saint of Killers), a once suicidal depressed teen who just happens to have a face like an arse (Arseface), and a zealot assassin by the name of Herr Starr. This week, Comics in motion has an excellent offer exclusively for our listeners. TKO Comics is revolutionizing the comics industry. Chris, Scott and Pat finally cover the season three finale, which hopefully isnt the series finale (Seriously AMC, I wont be responsible for my actions) of Preacher. Jesse, fueled by rage and revenge comes back to Angelville with the power of Genesis back in his grasp….Or throat. He has to go through Jody first if he wants to get to grandma and trust me when I say, you wont be “board” with this fight. Meanwhile, Tulip is fighting Nazis, The Saint is fighting Nazis and Eugene is fighting Hitler on the bus ride to Hell. Finally, Cassidy is resolving his time with Les Enfants du Sang and Herr Starr makes a glorious appearance as well. Its time to hit the road again with the Preacher crew and hopefully not for the final time on Weekly Heroics!

This week on Preacher, another solid episode with our various characters on the show in a variety of different fucked up situations, from the soul-stealing trio of Tulip, Featherstone and Jody, to the conflicting vampires of Cassidy and Eccarius to the unlikely duo of Herr Starr and Jesse. More story building was had and with the titular Tom/Brady situation now in place, and one can only imagine the shitstorm that awaits for us in the final two episodes of this years wonderful season of Preacher. And speaking of onscreen duos, the various partnerships in Preacher led us to our question of the week - best onscreen duos, which generated an obscene amount of feedback on Facebook and Facebook Live. There were far too many to mention, but we got through at least 50, which made for a long discussion on the second half of the podcast Join us on the next podcast, for discussion on a new episode of Preacher, as well as a new question of the week! Chris got lost in the swamp this week so Pat and Scott handle the recap duties on Preacher this week covering episode seven of season three. Its the (short) return of Hitler, who has been laying low at a Subwayesque fast food place trying to rally his co-workers for the Fourth Reich. Meanwhile, we have a meeting of the minds with Granma and Herr Starr, Featherstone and Tulip are on a mission to Japan and Jesse is getting loaned out to go meet the Allfather. Cassidy is enjoying his new vampire family, but does his new friend Eccarius have a darker secret hes hiding? Scott has some criticisms of this one, so let us know if you think hes off base by writing us at cheapscottproductions@gmail.com.

This week on the show, we had an all-too-brief return of Arseface, further development of the Tulip and Jesse Vs. Jodie, T.C. and Grandma battle as well as the introduction of the pretentious yet hilarious Les Enfants Du Sang (Children of the Blood). Between all of this as well as Herr Starr's exceedingly awkward meeting with the Allfather, it was another absolutely stacked episode. Some of us were more entertained than others on the pod, but the show remains of a high standard overall, so here's hoping that standard continues for the remainder of the season. In part two, in a bid to link into the show in some manner of speaking, our question of the week was Best & Worst Depictions of God & Satan in Film and T.V. After some distracting tongue in cheek suggestions on Facebook live, this then divulged into a sidetracked discussion that veered far, far away from the topic at hand. Still, we had our fun and that's all that matters. Join us on the next podcast, for discussion on a new episode of Preacher, as well as a new question of the week! See you next time. This week on the show, with scheduling issues from last week, we doubled up and talked about 2 episodes of Preacher back to back, opting to leave the question of the week for our next podcast episode. This week on the show, we did a shorter than usual episode, mostly because we couldn't settle on a question of the week! In part 1, it's fair to say we were bowled over by the excellent opening scene with a teenage Jesse - surely a sign of just how fucked up this season could end up getting. We still have no sign of Arseface or Hitler, but with Herr Starr's return, there was still plenty to keep us interested. In part 2, we discussed a pair of promotional photos on Preacher from AMC, speculating who's who in terms of as yet unseen new characters, as well as when to expect their entry into the show.
