We are super excited to finally welcome Stu Hughes to the show! Stu is a fantastic improviser and an even better human being and we know you are going to love this chat with him. Among the many things covered, Stu and Iain talk about how improv helps with confidence issues and how improv can genuinely help to change your life. They delve into the topic of short form vs long form and there's also lots of fun chat about writing sketch comedy, the Oickers members of the LCI community and how Stu discovered improv and specifically LCI in the first place. They also both discover a mutual love of co-operative board games! It's a really great chat that we are excited to share with you. So sit back, relax and enjoy Stu's story about making stuff up.
Cited by Oprah Magazine as “one of our favorite creative thinkers…”, improvisor, comedian, coach and Army veteran Dion Flynn, is best known as Barack Obama (and other characters) with over 100 appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. If Dave Chapelle and Eckhart Tolle had a son who did improv, it'd be Dion. An expert in fun and innovative ways to help people connect with themselves and others, he's led scores of people through his Improv Recovery Workshops. After performing on the same stage at the 2022 Grow Retreat, Dion talks with Lou all about his unique path, improv skills in business, and a very, very V.I.P. pops into the episode to share the brilliance and importance of the air fryer. *** CONNECT TO LOU DIAMOND & THRIVE LOUD

Sinikka Waugh and Joe Van Haecke discuss 5 Things Improvisors Do to be Successful. Starting off in Kansas City's Comedy City, Joe has been studying, performing, and coaching improvisation for over 20 years. During that time, he has studied with Comedy Sportz, Second City, and the IO Theater in Chicago. As an improvisation coach, Joe has worked with hundreds of students and the power of improvisation. Many of them have continued to study the art form in college and afterward. They have become actors, producers, directors, business executives, teachers, and politicians. With an unshakeable belief that anyone can learn and succeed with this art form, Joe's mission is to bring improvisation to businesses, colleges, and the health profession. “I'm not looking to make the next Bill Murray or Tina Fey, I'm looking to insipre you to be the best you you can.”
