The beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic started almost five years ago. You would think that in five years we would know more about what actually happened leading up to the pandemic and why, during the pandemic so many of our medical “experts” were so wrong about so many different things. If you remember, the legacy media publicly humiliated people who were using ivermectin and doctors who were giving it to their sick and almost dying patients. Mary Talley Bowden was one of those doctors. She was publicly shamed by some of the largest media outlets in the world for trying to give ivermectin to a patient who was dying during the pandemic. For doing so, she lost certain medical privileges and has been continuously investigated by the Texas Medical Board. This saga has culminated, in the past week, in a public reprimand (and who know what that even means) of Mary. You might be wondering what the goal of this reprimand is? Well, to put it simply, it's to destroy her career and reputation for speaking truth against the medical regime during the COVID pandemic. They want her silenced. Who is they? You'll be surprised to learn that the man leading the Texas Medical Board is none other than Republican Governor of Texas, Gregg Abbott. I thought the Republicans were the ones fighting against the authoritarians and oligarchs who tried to kill millions of people and control our lives during COVID – I guess I was wrong.Mary has spent years of her life fighting for her and your medical freedom. She's spent $250,000 on legal fees and has persevered through public humiliation because she believes what was done during COVID was immoral and evil. This is my interview with Mary Talley Bowden. Ti aiuta a capire i metodi. Ti ospitiamo noi.” Io arrivavo col mio zaino, un sorriso e nessun copione. Parlavo, raccontavo, ascoltavo. Sette anni dopo, ancora ne raccolgo i frutti. Prima nelle Azzorre, poi in Messico, e adesso in Thailandia. A guardare chi, secondo me, riesce a farsi credere davvero. Ecco, io oggi provo a vivere e a scrivere seguendo questi segnali. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Trump Administration have talked quite a bit about the fact that there is a 400% increase in autism rates in children up to 8 years old between 2000 and 2022. They claim that in America we've gone from 1 in 150 children having autism to 1 in 31 children having autism. This spike in autism rates has had its effect on millions of families across the country and has raised serious questions related to the food we eat, the vaccines we take, and the medicine we consume on a regular basis. And now RFK Jr. announced that Tylenol, when taken late in pregnancy, is connected to the rise in autism rates. This announcement brought about a frenzy of reaction from left wing and right wing media outlets and liberal lunatics on TikTok.Much of the liberal mainstream media claimed that RFK Jr. was a quack conspiracy theorist who has no business lecturing the American people on health and medicine. And the liberals on TikTok thought it best to stick it to the Trump administration by downing as much Tylenol as humanly possible while pregnant. But aside from what the liberal regime is saying, I wanted to know more about this new study that the White House released and its legitimacy. I want to know if Tylenol causes autism or is only associated with autism. So, I reached out to Dr. Peter McCullough. You may know him from the days of COVID in 2020. Dr. McCullough was one of a few doctors across America who challenged the mainstream narrative related to the COVID Vaccine's and treatments. His career and his reputation were publicly condemned and ridiculed for this. To this day Wikipedia says that “McCullough has promoted misinformation and conspiracy theories about COVID-19, its treatments, and mRNA vaccines.” Now THAT statement is an objective lie.Dr. McCullough was willing to put his life's work on the line during COVID and challenge the mainstream narrative, and he was right about everything he said. I thought it would be interesting to hear from Dr. McCullough about the new White House initiatives related to autism and their approach to learning about the autism epidemic. Are RFK Jr and his team actually just liars and conspiracy theorists? Or is the America Medical Industry stuck in a downward spiral of political ideological capture and a denial of facts and truth? In this episode I talked with a Free Press reporter, Josh Code. He recently wrote an article on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria. In this article he interviewed a Christian man in Nigeria who was taken captive by Muslims and beaten for his participation in helping two women escape from their hometown after converting from Islam to Christianity. We talked about the American Government's response to the Christian persecution in Nigeria and why this persecution is even happening in the first place. We finally discussed the problems with liberal Christianity and what the story of persecution in Nigeria can teach Christians in the West. Come? In this episode, I talked with Tanya Lukyanova from The Free Press. Tanya is a video journalist who grew up in Russia and is now living in the United States. She has reported on Russia's authoritarian decline from her home country and has reported on the war in Israel. Two weeks ago she released a video about a viral story that was dominating headlines related to the war in Israel — the story was about a young Gazan boy who was supposedly murdered in cold blood by the Israeli Defense Forces. This story, created by Anthony “Tony” Aguilar was given legitimacy by mainstream media like MSNBC, CNN, and even Tucker Carlson. The only problem was that Anthony Aguilar made the story up out of thin air. The supposed murdered child was found weeks later and confirmed alive. Tanya reported on this for The Free Press and revealed that the entire story was blown up out of proportion for propagandistic purposes. This conversation begins with Tanya discussing her reporting on Russia and her upbringing in Russia. She explains how the country has changed in her lifetime and how Putin is thinking through the war in Ukraine. We also talked about what the government needs to do, if anything, when media outlets are lying on purpose to conjure up paranoia and support for anti-American ideology and enemies. I hope you enjoy! In this episode I talk about what you should do if your pastors fails to talk about Charlie Kirk. I discuss what is happening in the political realm and why the extremists on the political Right and Left are both pushing narratives about the assassination of Charlie Kirk that are beneficial to their liberal ideology. I also discuss what you should do if your pastor lectured you in 2020 about your inherent racism in light of the death of a fentanyl addict, George Floyd, but refuses to talk about the Evangelist, Charlie Kirk. In this episode I talked with Larry Sanger. As you may know, Larry is the Co-Founder of Wikipedia and a recent convert to Christianity. Sanger has his PhD in Philosophy from Ohio State University and created Wikipedia's first introduction pages and home page when the company started in the early 2000s. In recent years, Sanger has been outspoken against Wikipedia and its politically liberal bias. In his announcement of his conversion, he made it clear that he had not chosen a denomination and was not actively a member of any particular church or denomination. In our conversation, Larry and I talked about his most recent announcement that he is joining the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA). We discussed how he came to the conclusion that the ACNA was the best Church for him to join, how he studied many different denominations on his journey to Anglicanism, and what criteria he used to guide his search for a church. This is an important conversation as Sanger gives a thorough breakdown of his logical and philosophical method of studying both the Bible and church history on his way to the Anglican Church. All'indomani zero. In this episode, I begin a short series based on the book by Thomas Nettles, In the Midst of the Years: A History of Reformation and Revival in America. There is much confusion in the modern age related to what revival is and how we can discern when a movement is of God is truly of God. In this book, Nettles travels through the history of reformation and revival in America — he covers people like Jonathan Edwards, Charles Finney, Dwight Moody, and Billy Sunday. He also analyzes events like the First and Second Great Awakening, the Civil War Revivials, and the 1858 Prayer revival. In this short series, I will be discussing four of these people/events in American church history.Today, I will start in the 1700s with Jonathan Edwards. Edwards gives five criteria for analyzing and judging a revival. These criteria are still valid and extremely helpful for today. My hope is that through this series, you can more truthfully judge whether or not something is a movement of the Spirit of God or a movement of the whims of men. I hope you enjoy! In this episode I talked with Dr. Ian Duguid. Dr. Duguid is the Professor of Old Testament at Westminster Theological Seminary. He has planted churches in California, England, and Pennsylvania and received his PhD from the University of Cambridge. In our conversation we discussed his new book, Turning the World Upside Down: Lessons for the Church from Acts 1-8. We talked about how Christ built His church in the book of Acts and what we, in the modern world, should learn from Jesus' disciples in the Apostolic Age. We also discussed the role the ethnic Jews play in the church and what our relationship to the Jews should be as Christians. Finally, we talked about the similarities between Judas, who sold Christ out for 30 pieces of silver, and you and I who often sell Him out for much less. I hope you enjoy! In this book Ben exposes the actual agenda of those in political power who claim to be “Pro-Life”.In our discussion we talked about the abortion abolitionist movement and what it stands for, why the Republicans in office across the country are consistently killing abolitionist proposals, and why the younger generations are ripe and ready to hear a clear proclamation of the Gospel. We head NORTH, and fish an increeeeeeeeeedibly beautiful place in Ontario. Seriously, one for the books - it's one of our fav spots in the province. We had the pleasure of being guided by Brian Still of Stillwater Guiding for the second year in a row. In this episode we chat about throwing big flies on big rods chasing musky, pike, and bass. We have some pretty epic fishing stories in this one - don't miss it! Huge thanks to Barbara, Ryan, and the whole family up at the camp for having us - it was such a treat to be welcomed in and spend time together. We get into the full experience in this one - gear, tactics, the fish, and why Brian is such a great guide. If you're thinking about making your own trip up there, do it. Seriously.
In this episode, I talked with Lucy Biggers. Lucy is a Social Media Editor at The Free Press and has written several articles for The Free Press. She was formerly a “climate change” activist and avid supporter of progressive politicians and ideology. In our conversation we discussed her upbringing, how she came to be a progressive, and her conversion to a more Conservative worldview. We talked about how she helped get Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez get elected and how she pushed the “climate change” narrative in The United States and abroad — even going as far as to interview Greta Thunberg. We discussed how she began to notice the logical cracks in her Marxist worldview and why she has just now started speaking up against liberal policy and ideology. In June she wrote an article for The Free Press called ‘I Helped AOC Win. I Understand the Fantasy Zohran Is Selling.'We talked about this article and how to change the minds of the upcoming generations who seem to be stuck in a progressive black hole. I hope you enjoy! In this episode I talked with WORLD News Reporter, Lauren Canterberry. We discussed her reporting related to the Mifepristone abortion tablets and her reporting on the SCOTUS ruling that Planned Parenthood cannot receive Medicaid funding in states like South Carolina that have outlawed federal money to be given to abortion clinics. This was a wide-ranging conversation and one that Christians should listen to. The abortion industry, as bad as it already is, is now targeting underage girls and mailing abortion pill across the country — even to people in states that have outlawed certain abortion pills and even the mailing of abortion pills. The issue of murdering babies is not a debatable issue or a grey issue for Christians, we must defend both the lives of unborn babies and the lives of mothers. Chesterton: The Apostle of Common Sense.” He is known as the world leading expert on G.K. Chesterton and is the author of the commentary on Chesterton's book, The Everlasting Man.In our conversation we talked about how The Everlasting Man was the book that converted C.S. Lewis to Christianity, and why Lewis said that this book put forth the best explanation of Christianity that he had ever read. We discussed Chesterton's intellectual ability despite his dropping out of college and never pursuing a higher education. We sit down with Colby Acuff—country music artist, fourth-generation Idahoan, and former fly-fishing guide. We talk about his journey from guiding on rivers by day to playing music in smoky bars at night, and how the wilds of Idaho helped shape the raw, no-nonsense sound he's now known for. We get into the making of his breakout record If I Were the Devil, what it's been like playing with legends, and how it felt stepping onto the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time. Colby also opens up about staying grounded, staying independent, and how fishing still plays a role in his life—even with all the buzz in Nashville. If you're like me and grew up in the Government School system, you may have heard that the American Revolution was made possible by Enlightenment philosophy and deists who didn't believe in a Providential God. But, like many other things in our society, it seems like that idea is itself a lie. The fact is that George Washington, John Adams, and even Benjamin Franklin believed in a God that acted in the affairs of men. In this podcast, I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Robert P. George from Princeton University, Dr. Stephen Meyer from the Discovery Institute, and Timothy Mahoney, the Founder of Thinking Man Films and Heroic Pictures. What do these three men have in common? They believe that the narrative we've been told about the American Revolution is a false one.We discussed their new movie, directed by Timothy Mahoney, The American Miracle. In this movie thinkers and scholars like Robert George and Stephen Meyer make the case that the American Revolution was made possible by the Providential hand of God working in the affairs of men - not merely enlightenment philosophy. They also make the claim that founders like George Washington and John Adams were prayerful Christians who believed that God was working in their own lives. We discussed all of this and so much more. Annie Crawford is a cultural apologist, classical educator, and homeschooling mom whose passion is to help others look at the world around them and see that all truth is God's truth. In our conversation, Annie and I discussed the dangerous possibilities of AI, the impending end of the world (or the end of a world), and how Christians can live through the end of the world without being taken over into worldliness. Annie discusses an article she had written about C.S. Lewis's book, That Hideous Strength, and how Lewis thought Christians should live in the ever-increasingly technological world. We sat with Fred and Seb from HOOKÉ to chat all about a new project and documentary, Scale of Change. This episode was recorded LIVE from the Toronto Sports Show, right in the YETI booth. We got to hear from Seb, a chef, hunter and angler about his outdoor life, and speak to Fred Campbell about Scale of Change... In the upcoming documentary Scale of Change, we explore how individual actions, no matter how small, can lead to monumental transformations for the Atlantic salmon. One person restores a river system. Another removes a dam. Each action is a drop in the bucket, but together, those drops fill it—creating a ripple effect of change that, while not always immediately visible, holds the power to shape the future. If we believe in that shared vision, and have hope, we can make a meaningful difference. Find SEB on Instagram @foodie_inthewild HOW TO HELP SO FLY: Please go leave us a review on APPLE PODCASTS. Sign up here: https://www.orthodoxyandorder.com It's been well documented over the past decade that mainstream media is on its way out while new and independent outlets are on the way in. It's also been well documented that Protestant Christianity in the West is in moral decline. Theologians, pastors, authors, and laymen have forgotten that a Christian conviction is comprehensive and should touch every aspect of a believer's life. This was common knowledge throughout church history; if you're a Christian at church, you also have to be a Christian at home, at work, and at school. No exceptions. You even need to be a Christian on Election Day and in your involvement in politics and government. But, it seems that Christians in America haven't been able to put the pieces together. There has been so much talk of “third-wayism”, voting Democrat as a Christian, and “respecting everyone's political opinions” as if politics is somehow detached from theology. The fact is that politics are not detached from theology - in fact, it's actually an extension of theological conviction. To be Christians, we must care about policy, law, and governance in our country. We must care for and will the good of others in our society, beginning first with those in our own home and then working our way out to the rest of society. And the only way we can do that is by knowing what is actually happening around us, in our city, state, and country. We have no be informed to be able to act in love. I've found it disturbing to see different news outlets in the Christian realm fail to make the connection between theology, politics, ethics, and morality. Because, in reporting the news, you have to have moral clarity (something the American church has lost). Orthodoxy & Order is going to be different. I won't equivocate on moral issues like abortion and transgenderism like so many Protestants have in recent years. No, in fact, I will aim to tell it like it is - an immoral world requires Christians to be moral and just in their words and actions. Orthodoxy & Order will do just that. Every week on Friday I'll bring you the news from the past week with clear, theological commentary and precise reporting (along with some other interesting facts, book recommendations, and historical quotes). Christ brought us Orthodoxy and Orthodoxy produces clarity and Order, thus, I have named this newsletter Orthodoxy & Order. I hope you enjoy! In this episode I respond to a video that was released by Gavin Ortlund yesterday in which he explains why he thinks that he is not a liberal. Gavin says that there are three reasons why people call him a liberal, but I argue that it's not that Gavin has three liberal views, but rather that Gavin has an entire framework of thinking that is indistinguishable from liberalism. In this episode I got to talk with Eric Kaufmann. Eric is a professor at the University of Buckingham in Buckingham, England. He was previously a professor for over 20 years at Birbeck, University of London where his job and livelihood was attacked by the woke mob. We talked about this in our conversation. We also discussed why so many Americans (and Westerners more broadly) don't trust their institutions - whether that be universities, government agencies, or legacy media. Eric argues that we have to reform these institutions, not just destroy them or let them die. We also talk about the future of Conservatism in the West and if post-liberalism is the way forward. This was a great conversation and I hope you enjoy!SUBSCRIBE TO ORTHODOXY & ORDER NEWSLETTER HERE Sign up for my newsletter and never miss an episode: https://optivnetwork.comFollow me on X: https://x.com/andyschmitt99Email me at andy@optivnetwork.com with your questions!Music: "nesting" by Birocratic (http://birocratic.lnk.to/allYL)
