We start the show talking about how we met through Billy Greer and Sean Cribbin - our Canadian friends from the documentary "Was I Next?". Gabrielle talks about how honored she was to be invited to Jeremy's Last Letter Podcast as a guest. She says it was one of the hardest things she has ever had to do, especially when she realized that this letter was going to be out there while she is still alive. Jeremy has not written his own last letter yet even though he ponders it all the time, but he wants to travel more first. He tells us about travelling with D'Andra to India for 30 days - the purpose was to explore this incredible experience with your loved one and how amazing that can be. He says if you can handle 30 days in India with a girl that is that amazing you better marry her. They have been happily married for 8 years. Jeremy is very honored to be featured in the New York Times and Dallas Morning News about the secret Pentagon Photos Of Guantanamo Bay Prisoners that he took over 20 years ago to finally being released. WOW what an amazing honor this is and how amazing this has to feel after all these years. Mr. Jeremy Lock has so many incredible stories up his sleeves that we are in awe - At one point he was hunting for Osama Bin Laden and you must listen to his recount of walking through the mountains and coming up at the top and experiencing Eutopia - spellbinding experience - all lush and green with poppies everywhere. We ask Jeremy how you become a military photographer? We learn very quickly that Jeremy is a true artist and the passion he has for photography is God given without a doubt. He says that the true power of an image - the click of a camera can change the world. He is a true believer that you can make a humongous difference in a persons life by story telling. He has the amazing gift and is a true artist by seeing something through a lens that nobody else really can. His Mom thinks he has a third eye. Jeremy says that as a photo journalist he is a true neutral and he just shoots the picture. He is a very emotional man and a very passionate person. Jeremy has had the honor of photographing numerous Medal Of Honor Recipients and he donates a lot of his time to military charities. Then Jeremy tells us about some of his favorite Last Letters podcast guests - some of the recounts of the stories made all of our hair stand up.Jeremy just wants to make a difference in this world. He talks about being in Haiti after the devastating Earth Quake - he says he smelled death everywhere and that he was the most scared he has ever been in a civilian situation - the photo about this experience is featured on his website - you must hear the story He talks about the Japan Tsunami - he says it was the most destruction he has ever seen in his entire life! They were there to do search and recovery - but they found nobody - no people, no animals - everything got sucked out! Then we hear all about his experience walking up the Mt. Kilimanjaro with wounded veterans. There are no words that we could type that could do justice to how Jeremy speaks about this experience. Jeremy does not use flash in his photography because you cannot use flash in combat - he says photo journalism is showing the story as it happens ..stay tuned to Part 2 as we dive into a tear jerker about the most important photo he has ever taken, his 21 favorite photos of his 21 year career and his time on the Dallas Housewives Franchise and Jeremy takes part in our fun segments. It's episode 26! Danielle discusses the Gardner Museum Heist. On March 18, 1990, on St. Patrick's Day, two thieves posing as police officers were buzzed in through the side entrance of the Boston museum. 81 minutes later they walked out with 13 pieces of art estimated to be worth $500 million. None of the pieces were ever recovered, and this is still an ongoing investigation. The FBI believes the thieves to be connected to a crime organization spread through the mid-Atlantic and New England. The current reward for information leading to the recovering of the pieces is currently $10 million. Later, Sandra talks about the Japan Tsunami Ghost Riders. On March 11th, 2011 a magnitude nine earthquake shook northeastern Japan. This produced one of the largest tsunamis in history causing death and destruction. As the town of Ishinomaki began to rebuild people started to have strange paranormal experiences. One of the most famous was the ghost riders. These ghost riders look like normal passengers, but once they reach their destination they seem to disappear. For years after the tsunami hit Ishinomaki, taxi drivers have welcomed their ghostly passengers. Listen to the episode to find out why.
