This livestream is about to go NUCLEAR as this week the team looks at what actually goes on with Radiometric Dating and why we should all be wary as to what we are told!
On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (11/29/24), Hank shares on radiometric dating and the age of the Earth.Hank also answers the following questions:What do you think of Kent Hovind and his views on creation and the age of the Earth? Joe - Oklahoma City, OK (3:19)Did angels and human women marry, propagate, and produce the giants in Genesis 6? Patsy - AR (6:35)Should Christians save for retirement and have life insurance policies, or is this not trusting the Lord? Melinda - IL (8:55)Are the days of creation longer than 24 hours in Genesis 1:11? Archie - Decatur, IL (15:12)
Radiometric dating methods are often cited as evidence for millions of years of evolution, but are these methods reliable? Dr. Mark Harwood explores how these dating techniques rely on multiple assumptions that can be adjusted to fit pre-existing beliefs about Earth’s age. He shares startling examples of inconsistencies, like rocks of known age returning wildly inaccurate dates, challenging the accuracy of dating methods as a whole. Dr. Harwood suggests that the real authority lies in eyewitness historical accounts, particularly those found in the Bible. He discusses how adopting a deep-time perspective contradicts the biblical timeline, potentially undermining its authority and the gospel message.
Radiometric dating is widely used to establish the age of various artifacts. Carbon 14 is used to assess the age of artifacts assumed to be in the range of 50,000 years or less. Logical and empirical grounds challenging the "standard" interpretation of C14 dating is discussed.
A key issue related to the difference between believing in an "old earth" or "young earth" is one's opinion about the interpretations of radiometric dating. Carbon 14 dating is a key technique used to date artifacts. Factors involved in Carbon 14 dating are discussed. This and next weeks programs were originally broadcast on May 9 and 16, 2023.
On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (03/06/24), Hank answers the following questions:Matthew 8:28-31 says there were two possessed men. Mark and Luke both indicate there was one. Is this a biblical contradiction? Steven - Dallas, TX (0:51)Genesis 2:24 says that a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife. Should children live with their parents until they marry? Jo - Kansas City, KS (6:02)I believe in an old Earth. Does Genesis 1:1 teach that Earth already existed and needed to be recreated as a new Earth? Jo - Kansas City, KS (9:14)My question is about Genesis 1, specifically verses 3 and 14. What is the difference between the light in these two days? David - St. Louis, MO (15:11)Do you believe in the principles of radiometric dating? Rick - AB (20:38)I was told by a friend that Jairus's name in Mark 5:22 means “he shall awaken” and therefore signals that this story is fictitious. What are your thoughts on this? Amanda - Columbia, IL (23:55)
The amount of helium present in zircons is explained by a young earth and accelerated nuclear decay.
Paul Garner and Paul Larson talk about scientific evidence supporting the view that the earth is only thousands of years old.
Data of radiometric dating is better explained by accelerated nuclear decay and a young earth.
Carbon Dating proves the earth is old… right? This one phrase has been repeated so many times that it is now locked into the minds of (what seems like) everyone on the planet! “Carbon Dating proves the earth is old.” Many in the church have decided the Bible got the age of the earth wrong and have reinterpreted Genesis because of this little phrase! Indeed, if Carbon Dating proved an Old Earth, it would be a problem for Young Earth Creationists! So why are we still Young Earth Creationists? Join Eric Hovind and Dr. Brian Thomas for the answers you have been looking for when it comes to Radiometric Dating! This program discusses the article "Deep Time Philosophy Impacts Radiocarbon Measurements" in the 2019 vol 55 No 4 issue of Creation Research Society Quarterly. The article critiques the assumptions and interpretations of radiocarbon dating on logical and empirical grounds.
What is radiometric dating? How is it done? Is it accurate? Some scientists say a sample is millions of years old, yet others reject those ages? In this two part program these and other questions are addressed. They key to the controversy is the assumptions used and their effect on the interpretation of the data.
In this episode on Earth SciShow, MrEarthGuy dives into the history of radioactivity and its implications on geology. Radiometric dating is one of the most accurate techniques we have to date samples of the ancient Earth and measure its age. By using Uranium-238 and Lead-206 we are able to using isotopic ratios to determine how old a sample is. We have applied this technique to terrestrial bound crystals like Zircon, and more exotic samples from lunar rocks and meteorites. #Earth #Geology #Science

This is the fourth and final episode in the four-part series with Charlie Wolcott. In this episode, Charlie discusses some new research that he has undertaken which seems to be pointing in a completely different direction from radiometric dating! He discusses what it could be like when the scientific community finally breaks up with radiometric dating methods. Enjoy the finale!
Charlie is back for the third time to discuss radiometric dating. He opens the discussion by analyzing what is it that can cause radiometric clocks to be reset and continues the discussion, examining the paradigm behind the dating methods. He addresses the deep time assumptions that go into the method. Stay tuned for the final episode!
Can radioactive dating be put to the test? Indeed, it can be put to test case! In this video, Charlie Wolcott, an AP Physics teacher, will be examining the falsifiable nature of radiometric dating. Will these methods stand up to scrutiny?
Scientists have embraced a toxic partner, namely, radiometric dating. Is it time for scientists to break up with radiometric dating? AP Physics teacher Charlie Wolcott says, yes! Join Charlie in this four-part series on radiometric dating. In this first episode, Charlie will be going over the facts and fiction of radiometric dating.
In this episode the Jared and Jordan talk about the age of the earth some more. Is it 6000 years old? No. No it is not. And Jordan takes a deep dive into radiometric dating to prove it!
Again we are going through “Cost” by Russ Miller. I am going over uniformity and how it is not supported by Biblical events or Biblical science. I will also be reading about radiometric dating which is used to falsely prove millions and billions of year-theories which are not supported by Biblical science either. I will be going over assumptions that prove how radiometric dating is not reliable evidence for false science.

How does radiometric dating fit with the view of a young earth? Is the earth billions of years old, or thousands of years old?
Radiohalos are the result of nuclear decay. They provide powerful evidence that the earth is young and radiometric dating is highly inaccurate.
The science isn’t as certain as some scientists want you to think. There’s a theoretical limit to how old you can date things with carbon-14. The fact that we find it in every carbon source on earth, the planet cannot be more than one million years old according to the dating methods. Learn all about it with Rob and Joseph!
Russ gives a presentation, with slides, about the standard model processes that take place in stars to generate elements, how that process eventually results in novas and supernovas, and how supernovas and other similar very high energy events generate cosmic rays. When these cosmic rays hit earth, they result in "cosmogenic nuclides" like the radioactive Carbon 14 that is so often used to date material in archaeological settings. We also run through a short list of the most often used dating techniques, how they work, what the problems are, what the ranges are, and what the margins of error are. We also look at the various assumptions and methods and theory behind these techniques.
Today, we read a Mike Riddle chapter from AiG's Answers Book 1, all about carbon dating. My AP Biology ThoughtsEpisode # 16Welcome to My AP Biology Thoughts podcast, my name is Arthur and I am your host for episode 16 called Fossil Record Radioactive Dating. Today we will be discussing the techniques used to precisely determine the age of fossils. Segment 1: Introduction to Fossil Record Radioactive DatingA powerful tool that scientists can use to precisely determine the age of samples is radioactive dating. Exponential decay: The amount of a substance decreases in proportion to its current value. Half life: A constant amount of time for the amount of the remaining sample to halve. Carbon 14: A naturally-occurring radioactive isotope of carbon present in small quantities in all organisms. It has a half life of around 5700 years. Segment 2: Example of Radiometric datingSince all living organisms are constantly exchanging carbon with the environment, an organism will have around 1 C-14 atom per 1 trillion carbon atoms. Once an organism dies, it stops exchanging carbon with the environment, so the amount of C-14 remaining in the organism will exponentially decay. By observing the amount of C-14 remaining and comparing it to the established baseline amount, we can calculate the age of samples. For example, if we had a tissue sample with an observed C-14 concentration of one per 4 trillion carbon atoms, as that is a quarter of the original amount, we know that two half lives have elapsed, meaning the sample is around 11400 years old. We were able to determine that the preserved “Ice Man” is around 5300 years old via this method. The amount of carbon-14 had to have been 1 atom per 1.9 trillion carbon atoms. Sources: https://www2.lbl.gov/abc/wallchart/chapters/13/4.html (https://www2.lbl.gov/abc/wallchart/chapters/13/4.html) Segment 3: Digging Deeper with Radiometric datingHow does this topic fit into the greater picture of evolution? By being able to accurately date ancient samples, we can create temporally accurate phylogenetic trees, allowing us to better understand organisms' ancestry and evolutionary relationships. Most often when discussing the age of the Earth or the solar system, scientists refer to radiometric dating. In kind, young-Earth creationists will try almost exclusively to poke holes in radiometric dating. But, before radioactive decay was discovered over one century ago, scientists in many different fields had already concluded that Earth was at least millions, if not hundreds of millions of years old. This episode discusses the reasoning they used.
After going over the basics of radiometric dating in Episode 38, here I discuss some of the main young-Earth creationist complaints about the technique, and their arguments to try to invalidate it.
