POPULARITY
The seventh of track and field action at the Paris Olympics was monumental in so many ways, and another stellar day for Team USA! Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke the world record en route to Olympic gold in the women's 400m hurdles and Tara Davis-Woodhall claimed gold in the long jump. In tonight's edition of Torch Talk, the team breaks down... – Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone won her second Olympic gold in the women's 400mH and broke the world record for the sixth time, running 50.37. She is the first woman to ever win back-to-back Olympic golds in this event. Anna Cockrell set a huge PB to upset Femke Bol for silver. Bol settled for bronze in 52.15. – Letsile Tebogo upset Noah Lyles and Kenny Bednarek to win gold in the men's 200m, running an African record of 19.46. It's the first time the 200m Olympic crown has ever been won by an African man. Bednarek won silver for the second Games in a row and Lyles took home bronze. After the race, Lyles revealed he had tested positive for COVID earlier in the week. – Grant Holloway finally got an Olympic gold to go with his three world titles. He won in 12.99, his 5th time under 13 seconds this year. Daniel Roberts beat out Rasheed Broadbell by .003 seconds to win silver, making it another 1-2 for the U.S. – Tara Davis-Woodhall won the women's long jump competition with a best mark of 7.10m, her first global title outdoors. Malaika Mihambo, the defending champion, finished in silver and Jasmine Moore won bronze. After her triple jump bronze earlier in the meet, Moore becomes only the 2nd woman in history to medal in both horizontal jumps in the same Olympics. – Arshad Nadeem won the men's javelin competition in 92.97m, recording the 2 best throws in Olympic history in the process. It's the first track and field medal ever won by a Pakistani athlete. _________ HOSTS: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on Instagram Mac Fleet | @macfleet on Instagram Mitch Dyer | @metchosketch on Instagram Eric Jenkins | @_ericjenkins on Instagram Aisha Praught Leer | @aishapraughtleer on Instagram Katelyn Hutchison | @_kxnaomi on Instagram We're excited to have a full CITIUS MAG team on the ground in Paris providing daily live shows before and after the action, including interviews with competing athletes, our TORCH TALK recap show, and the return of GOOD MORNING TRACK AND FIELD. Jasmine Moore and I met via Instagram, after a ‘meant-to-be-funny' post I shared about Rocket Mortgage being wackkk went viral. She commented explaining she was an Executive LO for Rocket Local, a new program they have that puts local lenders in various cities and gives agents and buyers the ability to work with one lender through the transaction, as opposed to getting lost in a call center. In this episode, Jasmine is shedding light on this program, sharing how she has the tools to close loans efficiently, and we're talking about the lending experience on a national vs. local level…the good, the bad and the ugly. Jasmine Moore is licensed in Texas, but can connect you with any trusted Rocket Local lender across the US. Then, six-time national champion and new NCAA long and triple jump record-holder Jasmine Moore stops by to discuss her incredible performance at the indoor meet, what turned her from a Bulldog into a Gator and what the path to 2024 in Paris looks like for the Olympian (21:10). Guest, Jasmine Moore explores a beautiful conversation about the dark feminine and honouring the totality of who we are. The dark feminine is not something that we have talked about here on the podcast, so it's a fresh new topic for you. Our transformation, alignment and healing requires us to honour all parts of ourselves. Jasmine explains the difference between the dark and light feminine and how feeling valid within our emotionality and our sexuality is a large part of the work with the dark feminine. Jasmine is the host of Bliss Retreat, a 4 day container and space for you to fully show up and allow your own healing to take place. Her next event is on October 14th and I highly recommend this experience, if it calls to you. "I really wanted to get a national team title. Of course, I wanted to win as an individual but a true measure of an athlete is how great you can be with others. I really wanted to have an opportunity to do that. That's why I decided to go to Florida. During my freshman year, we had a strong team but we were just missing a couple of pieces. Then we got Jasmine Moore, Anna Hall and we had some dogs on our team. The next year, I believed we have the most complete team and we were going to win. And then we did." For this episode of Out of The Blocks with Jasmine Todd, we are joined by Florida sophomore Talitha Diggs. She won the NCAA 400m title in March and just added the outdoor title with a clutch 49.99 personal best in the final. Only four other women in NCAA history have run faster. In this episode, she talks about the team culture with the Gators, growing up as the daughter of a four-time Olympian, how she approaches the 400m and much more. She will also be competing at the upcoming U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Fun questions include: – What's your favorite story about coach Mike Holloway + the angriest she's ever seen him – If you can combine forces with another athlete on your team to create a super athlete, who would it be? And it can't be Anna Hall. – What's the most disgusting thing you'd eat to get a world championship medal? + More Plus, we introduce you to our new co-host Katelyn Hutchison – a fellow member of The Magic Boost Class of 2022. In the new Amazon Studios psychological thriller “Master,” horror becomes a powerful vehicle to express how centuries of racism have infected an elite Northeastern college campus. “Master” continues a tradition established with Jordan Peele's groundbreaking 2017 psychological horror film “Get Out,” which also used the horror genre to intensify the sense of isolation and terror a Black photographer begins to feel while staying at his white girlfriend's remote upstate New York family home. Rising star Zoe Renee, raised in Fayetteville, Georgia, brings a complex blend of vulnerability and defiance to her starring role as Jasmine Moore, a freshman who is one of just eight Black students on the predominately white Ancaster College campus that serves as “Master's” eerie set piece. Felicia Feaster recently spoke with Renee about the film and she'll bring us that conversation. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
