Their musical collaboration bore fruit in the form of three albums for Ovation Records.  Jean's unique voice, first heard on the radio show 'Today In Georgia', captivated listeners, and her rendition of 'Misty' left an indelible mark. A trailblazer in her own right, Jean Carne was praised for being one of the first Afro-American women to take charge of her musical direction, resisting industry pressures.  Her collaborations with legends like Duke Ellington, Norman Connors, George Duke, and Earth, Wind And Fire further solidified her status in the music world. Jean's time with Philadelphia International Records marked a pinnacle in her career, introducing her to R&B and pop audiences.  Her move to Motown Records brought the hit 'If You Don't Know Me By Now', a duet with The Temptations, showcasing her versatility and reach. As a 12-year-old gofer, he rubbed shoulders with legends like Stevie Wonder and Patti Labelle, sparking his passion for music. Dexter's life took a dramatic turn when he served in the Vietnam War, a harrowing experience that left a profound impact on him.  Despite this, Dexter returned with a renewed vigor for music, channeling his experiences into his art. In 1975, Dexter's path crossed with Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff, the masterminds behind Philadelphia International Records. As a member of Yellow Sunshine, alongside guitarist Roland Chambers, Dexter's talent shone brightly, leading to session work with The Ebony's and eventually becoming a part of the staff creative collective at Philadelphia International Records.  Dexter's genius blossomed at PIR, where he arranged, played keyboards, and wrote songs for acts like The O'Jays, Teddy Pendergrass, and The Intruders. His work with Patti Labelle, especially the song 'Shoot Him on Sight', showcased his ability to craft songs across genres.  Dexter Wansel's compositions are a testament to his versatility and profound musicality. Ashley Scott is a talented vocalist from Philadelphia, PA. He began singing and discovering music at the tender age of 3 from listening and watching is aunt Helen Scott of The Three Degrees and The Delfonics. Known for internationally known singles like the lush ballad “Words,” the infectious “Dance The Night Away” and his international anthem “Don't Throw Our Love Away,” Ashley continues to release music across the Soul, Jazz, and Dance genres globally. The biggest part of Ashley's life and musical path came when he attended Howard University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Music. At Howard University Ashley studied jazz voice under legendary jazz drummer and vocalist Grady Tate, Kehembe Eichelberger, and the late Webster Lewis. Ashley also joined the Howard University Gospel Choir, which has produced R&B artist Angela Winbush, Tawatha Agee of Mtume, Pure Soul, and Gospel great Richard Smallwood. During his tenure with the Howard Gospel Choir, Ashley has performed behind Edwin and Walter Hawkins and Dorinda Clark of The Clark Sisters. The choir was also privileged to perform for President Bill Clinton at The Department of Agriculture for the unveiling portrait of former Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy. Professionally he has sung background for Lady Alma and Jean Carn as well as shared the stage with Bilal, Marcus Johnson and Grammy Award Winners Take 6. In the studio he has recorded vocals for Chavous, Sarah's Girl, Geneva Renee, Tye Tribbett, Jim Stephens, and Will Downing. In other musical attributes Ashley has served as a Board Member and Vice President of The Recording Academy Philadelphia Chapter. Ashley is the Founder of The Soulful Sounds Series that is an R&B Educational Program. He co-founded a non-profit The Artists United with his partner Lox Knox that educates youth on the entertainment industry through its I.C.A.R.E Academy program. We also had some additional production assistance from Will Downing which was an honor” Though the song is about being in love it is more about the interaction of a couple in the heat of a discussion. It encourages the listener to watch your “Words” and if you don't have an answer in that moment then it is ok to table it for another time.Ashley's latest single “Don't Throw Our Love Away” reached the #3 spot on the UK Soul Chart!!!
