His work and perspectives have garnered significant attention, with features in prestigious outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, ESPN, Adobe, Fast Company, Inc., Business Insider, and an appearance on the Dr. Phil Show. Scaling an e-commerce brand isn't just about getting more sales—it's about increasing profits without driving up costs and complexity. Many brands hit a wall where growth starts feeling expensive, with ad costs rising and margins shrinking. The challenge is finding ways to optimize operations, build a loyal customer base, and create new revenue streams that don't rely solely on constant customer acquisition. The brands that break through find smarter, more sustainable ways to grow—focusing on retention, pricing strategy, and efficiency instead of just chasing more traffic. Jesse Kay is the founder and CEO of Vyber Media, a performance marketing agency that specializes in helping eight and nine-figure brands unlock scalable, high-margin digital growth. With over a decade of entrepreneurial experience, Jesse has also hosted a successful podcast where he interviewed renowned business leaders such as Jack Dorsey and Gary Vaynerchuk. Today, Jesse shares his expertise on the power of mastering the fundamentals of email, SMS, and automation in e-commerce marketing. Stay tuned! I’ve been getting requests for me to be interviewed on the show, so in this episode my friend Alex Myers joins me to ask some questions. We talk about how I started flipping shoes on eBay at the age of nine, the beginning of my podcasting career (while I was still in high school) and my experience with anxiety and panic attacks. We also cover how I sent 300-400 cold emails per day to get great guests for the podcast. While my response rate wasn’t high, Mark Cuban eventually emailed me back, and that was hugely encouraging. My advice for anyone thinking about building a business or pursuing a passion is, start now - there’s never going to be a perfect time and you’re always going to mess up at the beginning. 19-year-old entrepreneur Jesse Kay interviews world class entrepreneurs, athletes, influencers, and entertainers on how they broke through to the top and became a trendsetter in their industry.
Jesse Kay is an 18 year old Entrepreneur and the Host of the 20 Under 20s Podcast, where he interviews the brightest minds in business (people like Grant Cardone, Gary Vaynerchuk, Jack Dorsey, and many others). Jesse also works with brands and athletes to help them to better engage their audience through social and digital. He has been featured in Inc, Business Insider, Entrepreneur Magazine, and many other media outlets.
How does an 18 year old get to interview the likes of Gary Vaynerchuk and Jack Dorsey? He starts early and sends 350 emails a day. Jesse Kay started his entrepreneur venture when he was 9 years old when he started flipping shoes on eBay. Which led to starting the podcast at 16. When you send 350 emails, someone is going to respond, and as they started to pile up, it lead to internships and relationships that allowed him to grow his own media company. Now he helps mainly athletes with their social media growth and finding ways to monetize their audience on social media. How do you interview the best of the best? Send 350 emails a day, yea it sounds like a lot, but when you're first starting out and don't have a reputation to go off of; that means you have time to spend to build that reputation Find a differentiating point. Jesse used that he was a 16 year old podcast host, what's your differentiating point? Go into it to build a relationship, not a one and done thing where you get an interview and thats that How to build legitimacy, especially when you're young? Start off with one client, make sure you give him more value than they are paying you Referrals, referrals, referrals Find your way in, for Jesse it was getting people onto the podcast and then he shows people what they do Give free advice and give them as much advice as possible When you hear Jesse talk, it seems like he'd be an extrovert and someone who has always been open to talking to people on a regular basis, but it was actually the complete opposite for him growing up. He had severe anxiety and the best way he found to cope with it was putting himself in situations where he couldn't back out. For example his first ever speaking engagement was on stage with Gary Vaynerchuk in front of a thousand people… Jesse preaches a message of being consistent with your actions, putting in the time and effort to get results, and honing in on your one key differentiator to help you break into a market. Three Pieces of Advice From Jesse Kay The first thing that I would advise is to take risks, but not to do so unnecessarily. Always make sure that you have a contingency plan for virtually any possible situation so you can remain protected. Secondly, be selective of what you listen to from outside people. Be appreciative of advice that you may ask for or receive, but don’t fundamentally care what people may think of you or what you are doing, especially naysayers. My third piece of advice will be find out what you’re passionate about, and just go for it. http://tbeshow.com/podcast/jesse-kay/
