Question posée par l'Express.

Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling may be America's last great joke teller. His savant-like ability to remember every joke he's heard since he was eight years old, coupled with his lightning-fast wit and infectious laugh, has established him as a comedy icon. Famous for being the head writer of the Howard Stern show for 18 years, even more infamous for leaving that position, Jackie's story is fascinating, funny, and heartwarming. And in an age of political correctness, he still helps us belly-laugh at ourselves, and the world around us, with a kindness and sincerity that defuses his unfiltered punch lines. In the feature documentary JOKE MAN we follow Jackie's improbable journey - from fledgling days of comedy on Long Island, through his time as one of the “Beatles of Radio,” to his success as an author and actor. We hear from friends and fellow entertainers including Willie Nelson, Penn Jillette, Billy West, Artie Lang, Marc Cuban, Sean Young and former Stern show staffers who give us their take on what makes Jackie truly unique. JOKE MAN is a universal story of self-discovery, grit and how humor is the biggest key to authentic happiness.JOKE MAN is produced and directed by Ian Karr. Karr is the founder of the creative and content-driven production agency, IKA Collective. IKA's credits encompass television series, promos, commercials and original digital content. Notable clients include AMC Networks, WB/Discovery, Showtime, FOX, Hallmark Channel, United Airlines and NBC/Universal. Karr and IKA Collective have played integral roles in the successful launches and promotion of hit television series including Better Call Saul, Empire, Gotham, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Weeds, Dexter and Californication. The company received a Clio for its work on FX's American Horror Story: Cult. In addition to filmmaking, Karr spent 8 years at Sirius XM as co-host of Jackie's Joke Hunt, which aired on the Howard Stern Channels. JOKE MAN is produced and edited by Ronni Thomas. Thomas began his career with horror icons Troma, and in 2003 produced Hey Is Dee Dee Home alongside maverick filmmaker Lech Kowlaski. In 2020 he directed The Broken and the Bad, commissioned by AMC and the producers of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. His 2017 short film Walter Potter: The Man Who Married Kittens was nominated for best short doc at the Raindance Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival. His feature debut, The Kybalion, premiered in 2021 and won best documentary and best director at Italy's Life Beyond Life Film Festival.

EPISODE 230: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: Special Counsel Jack Smith may be readying an indictment against Trump for illegally attempting to coerce Mike Pence to defy his legal duties in the Electoral College count? Ryan Goodman from “Just Security,” whom I cite here frequently though I don't know him and only because he knows this stuff, told Bill Kristol's podcast that he thinks Jack Smith quote “going to indict Trump for the False Slate of Electors scheme” – and with Goodman saying the odds Fonny Willis indicts on False Electors and election interference in Georgia are 90 percent, Trump could face twin federal and state cases on overlapping topics. And then Goodman adds something that took my breath away. Indicting Trump for False Electors, “AND quite probably/possibly the pressure campaign against Mike Pence.” Wait – what? Goodman sets the odds on Jack Smith indicting Trump ABOUT PENCE… at 60 to 70 percent. Pressuring the Vice President, Goodman says, quoting him again “is independent of whether or not he thought he won the election. He can think he won the election, doesn't matter. But you can't try to coerce a public official to defy their legal duties – which is just to count the votes.” Goodman doesn't mention that, but you will remember that Stewart Rhodes and other Oathkeepers were prosecuted for – and convicted of – interfering with Congress's ability to complete its legal duties. Ponder for a moment the prospect of Smith indicting Trump, running for the Republican nomination, for attempting to coerce PENCE, running for the Republican nomination. Oh and necessarily having Pence TESTIFY AGAINST TRUMP either before Trump is nominated or before the election.  I'm beginning to think we may have WILDLY under-estimated how many MORE things Jack Smith is about to indict Trump for. There is reason today to believe that the number of separate indictments OF Trump BY Smith could be as many as FOUR. Maybe even FIVE. B-Block (20:11) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Nikki Haley tries to make it sound like she DIDN'T say The Confederate Flag was just a symbol of "sacrifice, service and heritage" until Dylann Roof came along and spoiled it with his mass murdering. The Joe Rogan-JFK "debate" stink. The Bland leading the Blind? What on earth would they debate? HOW stupid Rogan is? And Military Mean Tweets (25:07) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Why was Lou Dobbs' wife subpoenaed in the Smartmatic case? David Clarke tries to get the Saudis off the hook for the Khashoggi murder. Curt Schilling says it's time for more shots, like at Concord, but he only means shots metaphorically. And the Chia Pet of Fox, Jesse Watters, has a plan for the homeless. C-Block (33:35) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: The New York crisis continues, with poor 3-year old Dior and her pneumonia (34:35) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Speaking of Lou Dobbs' wife, it was just 42 summers ago when she and Lou had to leave CNN New York in a hurry and they had to hire as an emergency temp a radio sports guy with no TV experience - me. THEY started my career!See omny.fm/listener for privacy information.

We have two quotes to share. This is the first time that we've had two quotes on one episode. Both of the quotes are by Mark Cuban. Mark Cuban is best know for being the majority owner of the dallas mavericks and an investor in the show shark tank. So these quotes actually go hand in hand. The first quote readsIt's not in the dreaming, it's in the doing.and the second quote readsThe best way to predict the future is to invent it. I love how motivating both these quotes are and they actually go hand in hand. You can dream all day but it means nothing without action. You can determine your future by putting together a plan of execution. Sometimes fear holds us back from moving forward. Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure. You can not get to where you want to be in life without action. The first action is the dream, the second action is the plan and the third action is the execution. Once you execute don't look back. Don't look for validation from others. You are doing this for yourself. If you give up because others don't validate your dreams or your ambitions, one thing is for sure, it will be over before you get started. Do it for yourself. The only way to know where you future is going is to plan it. Anything is possible if you are the one creating the path. Now this week i have some simple tips for booking airline tickets One thing I love to do is to travel. I don't care if it's a road trip that takes 2 hours or seven hours. If you're ready I'm ready. But there's nothing like getting on a plane to get to your next destination. The further the better. Always start your search on your computer in incognito mode so that the sites don't save cookies to your computer or save your IP address. This can cause the sites to offer you higher deals in the future or possibly not showing you lower rates after you've seen higher rates. By the way its always a good tip to clear your cookies on a regular basis. I have a few sites that I like to start with. For example Skyscanner, Google flights, kayak or momondo. Most of the flights shown on these sites are sold through a third party broker or travel agency. Skyscanner is one of my favorites. Most of these sites allow you to register your email and will send you daily or weekly updates with price changes of your chosen itinerary. Sometimes I don't like to include my information because I don't want my information tracked so I will just search trips manually periodically. Whenever booking flights if I find a deal, let's say on Skyscanner, I never book with the brokers on the site. I go directly go to the airlines website or call them directly to book the tickets. When you book through an online broker you don't technically own the ticket. The owner of the ticket is the third-party broker. Brokers sell some of their tickets on sites like Skyscanner. One thing I've found is that these seats that are booked through brokers are often the first seats to get the boot when the flight is overbooked. If you own your ticket you are much less likely to get canceled when the flights are over booked. Plus making changes is harder with a third party than working directly through the airline. They don't always like make changes to a ticket that was already sold where you may not be subject to refunds or changes. Another tip is to make sure when using these aggregator sites to refer to the airlines website for specific baggage fees as this varies per airline and is not normally not displayed on these types of sites. Remember flexibility is key when booking airline tickets whenever possible. I love the calendar view or the date graphs where you can visually see which dates are the cheaper days to fly on. Also, flexibility in being open to different arrival or departure cities can make a huge difference. Sometimes you can save hundreds of dollars just by arriving to a nearby city and taking the train into your planned city, especially when flying into Europe. Many times a train ride is just 30 minutes away. So if you have the time try this option. Once I find the best dates with departure and arrival cities I cross-check the prices with the other aggregator sites to see if one of them will show a cheaper deal. Then you can call the airline to see if they can guarantee that price directly with them. Well that's all the tips for booking airline tickets for now. I will share more tips on a later date. I went against everything I believed in and put aside my stance and got my friend a job where I worked. This is not something I have ever done outside of my best friend who I have worked with several times before. - For several months I felt like a hypocrite. This person was a close friend who had been unemployed for 12 months, she told me this in the middle of the pandemic where the roles in my sector were slower than usual due to covid. I went against my better judgment I went against my personal views on this I couldnt reconcile myself with the fact that I was less of a friend for not knowing my close friend was struggling and unemployed and had been for an entire year when I had the contacts and opportunities to get her a role. I had this overwhelming feeling of guilt. I went against everything I believe in, my better judgment and I took a risk.... it was my biggest regret of 2021. My gut and my stance however strict never fails me. I felt that my emotional need to cover my friend blindsided me. I also allowed myself to be manipulated and rather than asking myself 'why had she beeen unemployed for 12 months in a boyant market pre pandemic'. Sometimes things happen to remind you why you have taken a stance on a subject or topic, sometimes we are reminded that you have to make difficult decisions which may make you feel bad but there comes a point where you have to give yourself permission to put your mental well being and yourself first. I recognise in myself the flaws in my character, especially when I feel responsible to save people especially friends. It is a burden brought about from my trauma with my mother, where I needed her to save me, to be there for me to cover me and she did not. She did not afford me the covering needed from her. I also now realise she did not have the capacity or the tools to cover me in the way I needed. I then carried the unresolved issues and burdened myself with wanting to save others. I have discussed this extensively with my therapist and sat in the feelings of feeling betrayed, disappointed and let down. I know where my responsibility sits, I also recognise that this big L is my learning lesson to carry as a reminder that friendship does not extend to trying to save someone, that is not my role. My role as a friend is to be supportive and encourage my friends to save themselves. Being a good friend is not measured by your ability to find a solution sometimes it is ok to support your friend to find the solution for themselves. I have forgiven myself for the silly decision I made for going against my principals and I am also celebrating the liberation from the burden. I have learned the lessons and hope you can learn from me and do better.Email me:  hello@toyatalks.com  Twitter: @toya_w (#ToyaTalksPodcast)   Snapchat: @toyawashington   Instagram: @toya_washington & @toya_talks YouTube: At Home With Toyahttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbXlRNLSYLuA9GbPB8cUYvQwww.toyatalks.comhttps://toyatalks.com/

It's been a slow sports week, but your Sports Lordz are still ready to bring you a new episode! We begin this week by discussing how pillows are the future of politics, we dive deep into My Pillow vs. The God pillow, and have some general talk about sleep. We then wish everyone a happy belated Valentine's Day and President's Day, and debate who'd be the best president to hang out with. Then we hit a little sports as we discuss some MLB hot stove news as the Rockies traded away their best player for nothing, tanking in baseball, and how Trevor Bauer is a “cool” and not lame guy. We then shift gears and discuss Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Super Bowl celebration, TB 12 seeming a little human, and the trophy toss. Later we get a review of the hilarious Netflix show, The Big Show Show, talk a little NBA and how our beloved Hawks stink, Marc Cuban vs. the National Anthem (not the song by Radiohead btw), and wrap up the show with more talk of pillows. Please tell folks about the show and rate and review wherever you listen and please remember to stay safe and keep wearing your masks and social distancing. This pandemic isn't over Serfs. Stay alive!Today's episode is brought to you by The Good Pillow! Make a political statement while you sleep. Follow us on twitter, Instagram and Twitch @SportsLordz
