In Folge 41 von ZOOMER meets BOOMER sprechen wir über den Umgang mit Veränderungen – beruflich, politisch, gesellschaftlich. In einer Welt, in der sich Märkte, Technologien und Karrieren radikal wandeln, ist Resilienz eine entscheidende Fähigkeit. Doch wie bleibt man anpassungsfähig, ohne sich im Chaos zu verlieren? Und welche Rolle spielen Beziehungen dabei? Die Welt verändert sich mit einer Geschwindigkeit, die selbst erfahrene Führungskräfte oft überfordert. Ob künstliche Intelligenz, politische Unsicherheiten oder tektonische Verschiebungen im Arbeitsmarkt, nichts bleibt, wie es war. Die Frage ist: Wie gehen wir damit um? Jede Veränderung bringt Unsicherheit, aber auch neue Chancen. Der Schlüssel liegt darin, aktiv zu gestalten, statt nur auf Wandel zu reagieren. Was uns beiden dabei hilft: 1. Veränderung als Konstante akzeptieren. Wir erleben eine Zeit, in der Berufe, die heute sicher erscheinen, morgen irrelevant sein können. Wer sich nicht weiterentwickelt, bleibt zurück. 2. Resilienz als entscheidender Erfolgsfaktor. Die American Psychological Association definiert Resilienz als die Fähigkeit, sich trotz Rückschlägen weiterzuentwickeln. Studien zeigen, Menschen mit starkem sozialen Netzwerk sind widerstandsfähiger. 3. Generationenübergreifendes Lernen als Hebel. Reverse Mentoring ist kein Buzzword, sondern ein Wettbewerbsvorteil. Jüngere Generationen bringen Tech-Know-how mit, ältere die Erfahrung im strategischen Denken. Wer beides kombiniert, bleibt zukunftsfähig. 4. Die Kraft von Beziehungen nutzen. In schwierigen Zeiten sind es oft Gespräche mit Kolleg*innen, Mentor*innen oder Freund*innen, die uns Halt geben. Wer sich aktiv vernetzt und Perspektiven austauscht, bleibt mental stärker. 5. Digital Detox und Medienkompetenz. Dauerhafte Reizüberflutung durch Nachrichten und Social Media kann lähmen. Wir sprechen über Strategien, um bewusst mit Informationen umzugehen und den eigenen Fokus zu schärfen. Unser Fazit: Machen statt abwarten! Veränderung ist unausweichlich. Entscheidend ist, wie wir ihr begegnen. Wer neugierig bleibt, sich mit den richtigen Menschen umgibt und bewusst reflektiert, kann jede Herausforderung in eine Chance verwandeln. Wir diskutieren über den Umgang von Lernen, Kreativität und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung im Zeitalter von KI. Wenn erfahrene Ältere und technologieaffine Jüngere sich austauschen, können beide Seiten voneinander lernen und die Technologie sinnvoll einsetzen. Das wichtigste in Kürze: 1. Die Gefahren übermäßiger KI-Nutzung:Wir sprechen über einen LinkedIn-Post von Greg Eisenberg, der schildert, wie ein Stanford-Absolvent durch die ständige Nutzung von KI seine Fähigkeit zur sprachlichen Selbstständigkeit verlor. KI darf nicht das eigene Denken ersetzen. Kritisches Hinterfragen und kreatives Scheitern bleiben essentiell – gerade für die Entwicklung der Persönlichkeit. 2. Kritisches Denken und Medienkompetenz:Das Bildungssystem muss sich anpassen. Schulen und Universitäten sollten stärker auf mündliche Diskussionen, Ethik-Debatten und projektbasiertes Lernen setzen. Ein bewusster Umgang mit KI ist essentiell, um auch in der digitalen Welt resilient und kompetent zu bleiben. 3. KI als inspiratives Werkzeug:KI kann uns in vielen Bereichen inspirieren – von kreativen Prozessen bis hin zur Unterstützung bei Routineaufgaben. Doch wir warnen davor, die Technologie als Ersatz für eigene Ideen zu nutzen. Kreativität lebt vom Ausprobieren und vom Scheitern – das sollte auch in Zeiten von KI nicht verloren gehen. 4. Generationenübergreifende Zusammenarbeit:Wir sehen großes Potenzial in Reverse Mentoring. Wenn ältere Generationen ihr Wissen mit Jüngeren teilen und Jüngere im Gegenzug ihr technisches Know-how weitergeben, profitieren beide Seiten enorm. In dieser Folge sprechen wir über die fünf wichtigsten Gründe, warum ältere Generationen mit KI durchstarten sollten – und warum sie damit einen entscheidenden Vorsprung haben. 1. Erfahrung trifft Effizienz: Boomer haben tieferes Wissen und jahrelange Erfahrung, die perfekt mit KI kombiniert werden können. Michael spricht darüber, wie er ChatGPT nutzt, um komplexe Texte zu verdichten, Coaching-Profile zu analysieren und Ideen für Workshops vorzubereiten – in einem Bruchteil der Zeit, die er sonst benötigt. 2. Yaël Meier, Unternehmerin, Gen-Z-Expertin und Stimme einer Generation, die vieles anders macht, war bei uns zu Gast. Wir haben mit Yaël über Bildung, Büros, Reverse Mentoring und die Wichtigkeit, junge Leute einfach denken und machen zu lassen, gesprochen. Besonders beeindruckend: Yaëls Überzeugung, dass Innovation davon lebt, Regeln in Frage zu stellen und Verantwortung zu teilen. Highlights aus der Folge: 1. Bildung neu denken – Was wir von Neuseeland lernen können In Neuseeland wurde ein neues Bildungsleitbild von 50.000 Menschen co-kreativ entwickelt. Das Ziel: Junge Menschen sollen nach der Schule in der Lage sein, sich selbst zu reflektieren, ihre Stärken und Schwächen zu erkennen und Sinn im Leben zu finden. Yaël betont, dass wir auch in Europa diesen Fokus brauchen: „Ein Großteil der Jobs, die es in zehn Jahren geben wird, existiert heute noch nicht. "Wir brauchen ein Bildungssystem, das Life Skills, Eigenverantwortung und den Umgang mit modernen Technologien in den Mittelpunkt stellt.“ 2. Büros als Statement – Trophy Offices und Flexibilität Passend zur Orgatec sprachen wir über die Zukunft der Büros. Yaël und ihr Team haben ihr eigenes Büro bewusst als „Trophy Office“ gestaltet: „Wir haben keine Regeln. Wer kommen möchte, kommt. Manche arbeiten lieber zu Hause, andere im Büro.“ Ihr Office-Konzept: ein „Flex-Office“, das wohnlich und gleichzeitig funktional ist. Es kombiniert eine Prime-Location, offene Räume für Austausch und private Bereiche für konzentriertes Arbeiten. „Für uns ist das perfekt. Aber genauso wichtig ist, dass ein Büro ein Ort bleibt, an dem Menschen zusammenkommen und zwischenmenschlich arbeiten können.“ 3. Junges Denken in Unternehmen – Regeln hinterfragen Yaëls Firma lebt von Eigenverantwortung, Offenheit und Innovation. Sie beschreibt es so: „Wenn ein Prozess nicht gut ist, ändern wir ihn einfach. Unsere Kultur lebt davon, dass alle mitdenken.“ Ein Beispiel: Ein Mitarbeitender stellte das gesamte Notion-System um und verknüpfte es mit Excel. Kunden gaben zurück: „Wir haben noch nie mit einer so strukturierten Agentur gearbeitet.“ 4. Reverse Mentoring – Lernen in beide Richtungen Für Yaël ist klar: Jüngere und Ältere können enorm voneinander profitieren. „Jüngere können von Älteren lernen, wie man sich vernetzt oder geduldig bleibt. Ältere können von uns lernen, wie man Technologie effizient nutzt.“ Das Konzept von Reverse Mentoring wird in ihrer Arbeit immer wichtiger, weil Erfahrungen und Alter oft nicht mehr gekoppelt sind: „Technologien entwickeln sich so schnell, dass junge Menschen oft die Kompetenteren sind.“ Unsere neue Rubrik „Machen Sie das!“ Zum Abschluss hat Michael Yaël und Oskar gefragt, was Boomer und ältere Generationen besser machen können. So post-pandemic, like, you know, you've got better up service talks about like people who don't feel connected at work, people who would rather not be connected with the people at work, and people who really want to be connected with people at work. Especially when we're talking about in a hybrid world, when we're talking about, you know, a lot of the work that I do is with the Gent with Gen Z and it's about them entering the workforce properly for the first time, and how things that we maybe took for granted being like seasoned, seasoned corporate employees. But what does that look like now especially being like digital natives, and now heading into a space where it may not actually be the Digital First, it's more people first. But really that connection and building authentic connection within an organization where people are more like people's opinions or views are more polarized than ever. And now we're living our lives at work as well. So, historically, we maybe didn't have the opportunity to bring all of our viewpoints and opinions to the office. But now we have no option but to write because it's just weaved into every part of our being now. And so connecting at a deeper level, from a pace of like honesty and transparency, but also with respect, that all feeds into that connection piece for me.” What "working with humans" means to Patrice “Be more human. Like, bring as much of yourself to work as you feel comfortable in doing I always say, and, but it's recognizing people's individuality and respecting that and acknowledging that you have these wide policies. But actually, the one-on-one interaction those conversations…just will mean so much more to people to feel like seen and heard and valued. In this episode, we will explore reverse mentoring and challenging the status quo in quality improvement with Carl Betts. We will look at Carl's reflections on mentorship and reverse mentorship of Quality Improvement fellows within an Ambulance service setting. We dig into how Carl leads these QI fellows but also how they lead him in innovation and ideas. The focus of reverse mentoring is to increase the mentee's inclusion competencies; however, mentors are simultaneously provided with the opportunity to learn from their mentee's experience, knowledge and skills so it can be considered as a career development opportunity for both parties. Reverse mentoring is an effective way to build genuine awareness of the barriers faced by ethnically diverse employees and different perceptions of leadership from the mentee's perspective. We also dig into the assessment process for the fellowship and how Carl has flipped this on its head.  Carl Betts is the Quality Improvement lead for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) and has been a Paramedic for over 10 years.
