As President Trump celebrates his 80th birthday and prepares to welcome the UFC to the White House as part of America's 250th birthday celebrations, attention is increasingly turning to developments thousands of miles away in the Middle East. With US and Iranian officials expected to meet in Switzerland, the administration is presenting the outcome of the conflict as a major success. Yet questions remain over what has actually been achieved, with thousands killed, significant disruption to the global economy, and the Iranian regime still in power despite predictions it would quickly collapse. Key issues including sanctions, uranium enrichment and Iran's future role in the region remain unresolved, while the prospect of a broader agreement has raised fresh questions about the balance of power in the Middle East. There are also concerns over what any deal could mean for the ongoing tensions involving Israel and Hezbollah. As diplomatic efforts gather pace, scrutiny is growing over whether the conflict has strengthened America's position in the region - or handed Iran an unexpected advantage. Joining Piers Morgan to speak about this and more is former Israeli Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, former lieutenant colonel and spokesman for the IDF, Jonathan Conricus, Iranian-Canadian commentator, Goldie Ghamari, senior editor of Human Events, Jack Posobiec, host of Democracy-ish, Wajahat Ali, and Professor Mohammed Marandi from Tehran University. 00:00 Introduction 02:41 Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett interview begins 05:26 Naftali Bennett discusses peace deal 11:38 Panel discussion begins 12:45 Wajahat Ali on Obama deal vs Trump deal 16:20 Jack Posobiec on the future and sustainability of the deal 20:23 Jonathan Conricus offers an Israeli perspective 24:42 Goldie Ghamari argues the Islamic regime in Iran is collapsing 30:26 Impact of the Iranian regime on its people and the world 34:41 Israel's influence on global politics 39:09 UFC White House show 44:28 Professor Mohammad Marandi joins 45:48 Professor Marandi outlines his perspective on the purpose of the peace deal 50:01 Professor Marandi on a possible Iran vs United States football match Learn more about your ad choices. Jonathan Conricus has returned from a short North American speaking tour and joined me on Sunday evening to take a close look at where things stand with America and Iran. It is challenging to keep up and even more difficult to decode the often-conflicting messages issued by the main protagonists: the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran. We get into the possible responses that may come from the parties and the implications for the region and the world. Who is running Iran these days and making decisions? Unclear but we have a pretty good idea. Will Iran act on its threats to impose taxes on all maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz? How about their latest initiative - to tax all data passing through internet cables that are laid at the bottom of the Persian Gulf? Or - maybe they will sever the cables and disrupt global commerce? So many possibilities and we get into them all. Why is Iran attacking the UAE so consistently and hard? And why is the UAE not responding? Oh - and we also spend a bit of time marveling at the tendency of western media to accept the “spin” coming out of Iran, pretty. much unquestioningly. This pod was recorded on Sunday night, but it is current as of 10 am EST on Tuesday. At the end of the episode I include a short clip of Conricus speaking on Monday to media. He addresses America's rejection of the Iranian response to the most recent U.S. proposal to…..formalize the ceasefire? End the war? This became public after we recorded on Sunday night. It never stops……Show your support for STLV at buymeacoffee.com/stateoftelavivJonathan Conricus is a senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington D.C.-based think tank. The Strait of Hormuz is on the brink—and the world is watching. President Trump declares TOTAL CONTROL over the most critical oil chokepoint on Earth. A U.S. naval blockade is tightening. Iran is threatening chaos at sea. And behind the scenes, a high-stakes power struggle is unfolding inside the regime. So, who really has the leverage? On this eye opening episode of the Stakscast, former IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus joins Erick Stakelbeck to break it all down—from the battlefield to the global chessboard. Is Iran bluffing… or collapsing? Can the U.S. and Israel reopen the Strait of Hormuz at will? Who is REALLY calling the shots in Tehran—the regime or the IRGC? And what happens if Iran refuses to back down? Conricus delivers a sobering reality check: Iran is hemorrhaging hundreds of millions per day, its military capabilities are crippled, and the clock is ticking toward irreversible damage to its oil infrastructure. Meanwhile, the U.S.-Israel alliance is operating at historic levels—rewriting the rules of modern warfare and reshaping the Middle East in real time. Learn more about your ad choices. Despite the Iran War being popular with many in Israel, some communities there staged a protest this weekend against the ceasefire in Lebanon. Israel sees its war on Hezbollah as inseparable from the Iran War - and there is every chance that Netanyahu will suffer big political consequences if Trump decrees an early end to the war that Bibi persuaded him to start. In any case, the State of Israel could be living with the consequences of Netanyahu's decisions for many years to come. Many formerly-reliable allies of Israel eventually condemned the war in Gaza and moved to recognise a Palestinian state. And now the Spanish government will formally ask the entire European Union to sever its ties with Israel over its violations of international law. Meanwhile, in the US, support for Israel is cratering - and photos of the IDF attacking icons of Jesus with a sledgehammer aren't likely to help. Joining Piers Morgan to debate the Middle East crisis is former Israeli hostage negotiator, Gershon Baskin, retired lieutenant colonel and IDF spokesman, Jonathan Conricus, international spokesperson for the Jewish Community of Hebron and advisor to the Israeli government, Yishai Fleisher and author and commentator for Haaretz, Gideon Levy. By midafternoon on Sunday in Israel we were hit with whiplash, again. Every day seems to bring a dramatic new scenario. Just a few days earlier a ceasefire went into effect between the United States and Iran, with hopes pinned on direct talks between the parties, hosted by the President of Pakistan in Islamabad. The opening negotiating session was a marathon 21 hours and ended with no agreement. United States Vice President J.D. Vance pinned responsibility for the failed initiative on Iran, which was intransigent on two key issues: abandoning its ambition to develop nuclear weapons; and their coyness about de-mining the Strait of Hormuz so that the flow of oil and gas to global markets could resume. In response, President Trump unleashed a torrent of social media messages, reinforced with a long phone-in appearance on Fox News explaining the U.S. position and response. “We're blockading the Strait of Hormuz,” the President said, and then some.I was fortunate to catch up with State of Tel Aviv and Beyond regular guest, Lt. Col. (Res.) Jonathan Conricus, former IDF spokesperson and senior fellow at FDD, to discuss these developments on Sunday night, Israel time. As you will hear, Conricus believes that the Iranian regime has egregiously miscalculated the resolve of President Trump to end their unilateral bullying and control of the vital shipping route. Iranian leadership has become too accustomed to western governments that are inclined to appease and pander rather than stick to principle. Conricus likens Iran's conduct to an organized crime syndicate - brazenly resorting to extortion and bullying. We also discuss the peculiar coverage of this ongoing war by much of the western media. And we touch on the situation in Lebanon, which is very much linked to Iran's power. So much is in flux and uncertain and the stakes are, as always, very high.Show your support for STLV at buymeacoffee.com/stateoftelavivPodcast NotesJonathan Conricus is a senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington D.C.-based think tank. Israel has launched a ground operation in Lebanon, opening a major second front in its war against Iran and its proxies - raising the stakes in an already volatile region. While the risks of escalation are enormous, some argue the potential strategic gains for Israel are just as significant: reduced threats from hostile neighbors, stronger ties with Gulf states, and an even more dominant position in the region militarily and politically. As the conflict intensifies, questions are mounting over the role of the United States. President Donald Trump, who campaigned on a promise of peace, now faces criticism for backing a costly and controversial war - one that could carry serious political consequences at home. At the same time, divisions are growing across political and media circles, with prominent voices fiercely debating the motivations behind the war and the extent to which U.S. interests align with Israel's objectives. Piers Morgan is joined by political scientist Professor John Mearsheimer for his analysis on the conflict. Piers then speaks to activist Norman Finkelstein and retired lieutenant colonel and IDF international spokesman Jonathan Conricus. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Perhaps the biggest surprise of this war with Iran is how viciously the country is attacking its Arab neighbors. The UAE has been hammered, actually targeted with more missiles than were directed at Israel. Senior FDD fellow and regular State of Tel Aviv and Beyond guest, Lt. Col. (Res.) Jonathan Conricus gets into this bizarre development that no one anticipated. Initially, some pundits were assuming there was a brilliant Iranian plan behind these attacks. But as we discuss in this episode, it is now clear that Iran lashing out at its neighbors is the result of chaos in the government and military. We also zoom out to look at the broad waves of attacks on Iran by America and Israel and what they have accomplished; what remains to be done. If the murderous regime in Iran falls the geopolitical fallout will be huge; the most extensive and far reaching since WWII. We also take a hard look at the conduct of unprincipled western leadership - like that of UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. Great video clips in this episode and some awesome retro photos from the 70s. Who remembers the OPEC oil embargo after the 1973 Arab Israeli war, also known as the Yom Kippur War? And, of course - we discuss the very real possibility of boots on the ground in Iran. America launched a coordinated joint attack with Israel on Iran, in an operation known as Operation Epic Fury," which led to the death of the second supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei. Many in the mainstream media were quick to denounce the attacks, and some media outlets quickly began spreading the false story that the attack also hit an elementary school, when in reality it was a failed launch within the Middle East that hit the school. Glenn also brings in his chief researcher, Jason Buttrill, to lay out how America got to this point and what we can expect in the coming months. Retired Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, former Israel Defense Forces spokesperson, joins to give his assessment of the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran. Author of "The Terminal List" book series and executive producer of the TV series of the same name Jack Carr joins to discuss the strikes against Iran from a fiction author's perspective. Glenn lays out what he believes is Trump's true objective in striking Iran and why he believes the strikes were warranted. After a weekend of thought, Glenn gives his four conclusions regarding the U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
It’s Monday, March 2, 2026 — The Scott Jennings Show is LIVE from Washington, D.C. as the United States and Israel decapitate the Iranian regime and launch a major air/naval campaign. We’ll track the battlefield, the risks (including U.S. casualties and a friendly-fire incident), and the media spin — plus breaking domestic violence and illegal-immigrant crime. Scott is joined by Rebecca Heinrichs, a national security analyst from the Hudson Institute, who provides expert analysis on the situation. They discuss the US military's strategy and the potential consequences of the war. Jonathan Conricus, a former spokesperson for the IDF, also joins the show to share his insights on the Israeli perspective and the coordination between the US and Israeli militaries. The conversation also touches on the media's coverage of the war, with Maya Sulkin, a journalist from the Free Press, sharing her thoughts on how the media is portraying the Ayatollah's death. The episode also includes a discussion about the domestic threats posed by Iranian sleeper cells and the US military's efforts to monitor and counter them. https://balanceofnature.com/ https://www.uaustin.org/ Visit https://www.Learscott.com See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Following the US-Israeli attack on Iran, the Ayatollah is dead - and nobody should mourn a murderous dictator who presided for decades over state-sponsored terrorism across the world. But we don't know if his replacement will be as bad - or worse. Donald Trump says Iranian dissidents should take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sweep into power. But how? The President says the war should last four weeks. But as Iranian bombs rain down on Gulf states who did not want a war, we don't know if it can be contained. Trump's legacy will now be defined by what happens next, just as Tony Blair and George W Bush are defined by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A free and democratic Iran, allied with the West, would be an outcome that eclipses any of Trump's domestic failures or successes. But the same thing applies with equal menace to a regime change that goes the way of US-led regime changes in Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq and elsewhere. Piers Morgan speaks to former Vice President Mike Pence about the conflict in the Middle East as well as former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett. He's also joined by his panel; The Young Turks Ana Kasparian, System Update host Glenn Greenwald, retired lieutenant colonel and IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus, former general and US assistant secretary of state Mark Kimmitt and former Canadian lawmaker and Iranian activist Goldie Ghamari. War with Iran is no longer a distant possibility. It's a looming reality. As tensions reach a boiling point, the question is no longer if the Middle East will shift, but when. n this urgent and eye-opening episode of Stakscast, Jonathan Conricus — Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and former international spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces — lays out what a potential U.S. strike on Iran could actually look like. We examine the growing threat from Tehran, the expanding shadow war encircling Israel, and what a full-scale conflict could mean not just for the region, but for the entire world. From Hamas' grip on Gaza to the strategic alignment between Qatar and Turkey, new power blocs are forming behind the scenes — and they could dramatically reshape the balance of power across the Middle East. The lines are being drawn. The alliances are forming. And the world is watching. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
New reports this week suggest that more than 30,000 people have died in the Iran protests. Iranian state media says it's more like 3,000; either way, it's a massive and devastating loss of human life. The big question now is whether it's massive enough to cross President Trump's red line. Piers Morgan first speaks to The Grayzone's editor-in-chief, Max Blumenthal and former IDF lieutenant colonel and spokesman Jonathan Conricus. He then asks former Special Advisor on Genocide to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Dr. Payam Akhavan, about the truth of the death tolls before speaking to Iranian-American activist Masih Alinejad, from New York where she faced her would-be assassin Carlisle Rivera, who has now been sentenced to 15 years in prison. Since the terror attack on Bondi Beach on Sunday, many prominent people including former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott are pointing the finger at Western governments which rushed to recognise a Palestinian state and supposedly tolerated extremism at anti-Israel protests. Others have argued that, by the very same logic, the Israeli government is culpable for the mass suffering it has inflicted on Gaza. Attention is turning, again, to immigration policies and whether multiculture - and Muslim culture - can ever work in the West. Piers Morgan uncovers the tensions that only seem to be getting stronger, first speaking to Israel's deputy foreign minister Sharren Haskel about the attack in Sydney, asking her how safe she thinks Jewish people are worldwide following the events that have unfolded since October 7. Uncensored then welcomes New York post columnist Miranda Devine, retired lieutenant colonel and IDF spokesman Jonathan Conricus, journalist and commentator Sami Hamdi, British-Palestinian Novara commentator Kieran Andrieu and Australian commentator Samara Gill. Hamas Violates Ceasefire and Maintains Political Control Guest: Jonathan Conricus Jonathan Conricus states that Hamas is systematically violating the ceasefire, deliberately stalling the release of hostages' bodies to maintain political leverage against Israel. Hamas is internally working to settle scores and communicate that they are "here to stay" as a governing force. Conricus notes that the release of nearly 2,000 Palestinian terrorists, including experienced operatives, significantly increases the likelihood that they will eventually resume terror activities.

After two years of shock and awe in Israel the pace really isn't letting up. If anything, it is intensifying. The last few days are typical. Over the weekend, most of the 20 hostages who returned alive, miraculously, from Hamas captivity on October 13, were released from hospital. The remains of those who were murdered in captivity are being returned by Hamas, in “dribs and drabs”, as President Trump would say. Just as Israelis begin to mentally adjust to the possibility of peace with Hamas…..things began to fall apart. Enter Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner and Vice President J.D. Vance, who popped into Israel this week for whirlwind visits. As VP Vance departed today, Secretary Rubio arrived. Yesterday, Jonathan Conricus and I discussed the constantly shifting parameters for what passes as reality in this part of the world. And we get into whether the heavy American presence is intended to keep PM Netanyahu and his extreme right coalition government “in line”, or just a friendly series of drop-ins. And I couldn't resist slipping in a brief look at Canadian PM Mark Carney - who continues to make it his business to remind Israel at every opportunity that Canada is many things under his leadership but is no friend of Israel.Show your support for STLV at buymeacoffee.com/stateoftelavivPodcast NotesJonathan Conricus is a senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington D.C.-based think tank. Since President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu announced the groundbreaking Peace Proposal for the Israel-Hamas war and, more broadly, the Middle East, speculation as to what it all means is rampant.I caught up with State of Tel Aviv and Beyond regular guest, Lt. Col. (Res.) and Senior FDD Fellow, Jonathan Conricus, to take a hard look at what the 21 (now 20) point plan sets out. Bibi was beaming at the White House when it was announced but it's not all roses for Israel. Even before the announcement, Netanyahu was basically forced to swallow a clump of thorns. His phone call to the Emir of Qatar - during which he read from a prepared script and apologized for having approved an air attack on senior Hamas operatives meeting in Doha on September 9 to discuss a hostage deal - was just the first of many challenges to be faced. We wrote about that moment last week - which caused many politicians to rip into Bibi. But he did it. And Trump seems to have managed the inconceivable, getting Qatar and all significant middle eastern Arab nations to step up and publicly support the plan. It's an extraordinary accomplishment, made possible only because middle eastern nations respect Trump. And that is because they fear him. For more on that read this piece that we dropped last week.Conricus and I go straight to it, getting into what it means for the hostages, Hamas and Israel. Who will secure the Strip and who will govern? Is de-militarization of Gaza realistic? Will Hamas accept the terms of expulsion from the Gaza Strip? How will Israel handle the first big challenge, which is expected to arise when negotiations begin in earnest on Monday in Sharm el Sheikh? It will almost certainly be about the hostages and their immediate release, a condition precedent on which neither Trump nor Bibi are likely to budge.I wanted to get this out today so that you have the benefit of digesting this discussion before negotiations gather momentum tomorrow.Oh. And the other major challenge? Qatar. As a state sponsor of terror and Hamas' main benefactor, Qatar holds a lot of sway in these negotiations; and that may not bode well. We break it all down in under an hour.Show your support for STLV at buymeacoffee.com/stateoftelavivPodcast Notes:Map published on social media by President Trump and referred to in the podcast by Jonathan Conricus:Jonathan Conricus is a senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington D.C.-based think tank. Wild news from the Middle East today as Israel hit a building in Doha where senior Hamas leadership were gathered to reportedly discuss the latest American and Israeli proposal to end the war and bring the hostages home. We caught up with FDD Senior Fellow and State of Tel Aviv friend and regular, Lt. Col. (Res.) Jonathan Conricus to discuss what we know, what we don't and what this might portend. Both Jonathan and I are on the road, so this episode has no visuals - other than at the very outset. It's an old-fashioned audio only podcast - we thought it important to skip the bells and whistles and get the information out to our listeners ASAP.Show your support for STLV at buymeacoffee.com/stateoftelavivJonathan Conricus is a senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington D.C.-based think tank. When I saw the viral clips from Piers Morgan's show - featuring State of Tel Aviv and Beyond friend and regular guest, FDD Senior Fellow, Jonathan Conricus debating Mehdi Hasan - I could not resist. Jonathan and I spoke Sunday morning about what went down during that raucous exchange, which is more than television theatrics. Conricus has emerged as one of the most powerful and articulate spokespeople globally addressing issues arising regarding the Israel-Hamas war as well as regional issues. He has deep experience in the military and a gift for explaining complex issues in a way that makes them accessible. And, unlike Mehdi, he never loses his cool. We spend most of our time today speaking about the IDF operation in Gaza City and Conricus explains why he believes that it is the correct course of action for Israel at this time, in spite of the fact that the operation imperils the lives of the remaining hostages held by Hamas. It's hard to keep up, I know. But it struck me that we are at a critical nodal point regarding Hamas, Gaza and the hostages and merited a quick rundown. Given what's going on - this discussion is a quickie. The issue of media handling of issues relating to Israel is a longstanding interest of mine, as you are likely aware. And the tenor of Piers Morgan's show is also important, in my view. Like him or hate him he has millions of viewers globally and has maintained a strong focus on the Israel-Hamas war. Which means we have no choice but to pay attention to what goes down on his show. You can watch the full episode of the Conricus-Hasan debate at the link provided in the notes. “I think in interim period Israel will apply a military occupation of it and rule Gaza to make sure that Hamas is indeed defeated, that there is no pockets of resistance and terrorism and guerrilla, etc.,” Conricus, the former International spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces, told The Daily Signal at the Jewish News Syndicate International Policy Summit in Jerusalem. Once Hamas and its sympathizers are completely defeated in Gaza, “Israel will move out and then it will transition,” Conricus, who is also a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said. “It has to transition to local self-governance by Palestinians, not by Hamas, and not by corrupt Palestinian authority officials, but by local, vetted, non-terror-aligned Palestinians that have local standing in Gaza and that show that their trajectory, what they value, is the present and the future and that they want to build a different Gaza.” This plan will require patience, according to the former IDF spokesman, adding, “I don't think that we have any other options.” Conricus estimates it will take about five years to see positive change in Gaza, providing a “good plan” is in place with proper funding. “To think that this is a quick fix that can be done quickly would be naïve and misleading. That is not the situation,” he said. “There is a very bad situation that has been going on for many years and as such it will take many years to undo.” Learn more about your ad choices.
