Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're hitting a hot topic: America jumping into the Israel-Iran war. And I'm just going to say it—I don't think we should've gotten involved. I've supported Donald Trump for years, but I think he got this wrong.Israel just said they didn't need us. This was their fight. Then suddenly, we're bombing a nuclear site and opening doors that didn't need to be opened. And of course, anyone who questions it gets labeled a “panican.” But guess what? The “panicans” are starting to look more and more like prophets, because now, sleeper cells are stirring, and American churches are already under attack. We don't need to be scared, we need to be wise. The Bible calls us to test the spirits, stay watchful, and seek peace when we can. (1 John 4:1, Romans 12:18). So let's talk about it honestly. Because loving your country (and even loving your favorite president) doesn't mean checking your discernment at the door and always being a yes-man.--https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee

Today, we're taking a look at the unraveling mayhem situation in California, where Governor Gavin Newsom's failure to lead has allowed chaos to run absolutely wild. Violent riots involving illegal immigrants (most of whom are military-aged men) are breaking out across the state. These individuals are not assimilating, they are disrupting, demanding, and waving foreign flags while burning ours on American soil. As California spirals, it's no surprise that federal intervention has become necessary. President Trump has stepped in where state "leadership" would not. This really isn't about politics, it's about preserving order, protecting citizens, and upholding the rule of law. We are a people who serve a God of justice, not disorder. What's happening is not compassionate, it's destabilizing. California deserves better, and America must wake up before this becomes the norm nationwide. God forbid. Let's talk about what's really going on in California and why prayer, truth, and resolve are crucial right now.--https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOoqJuDPZk6H7VWSxgepSo3RWAJCtIGO9wrHmULH1iMgxSzkJ791_--Order CULTure: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/SLYWFXAB6479S

Pride Month is evil, and we must call it what it is. In this episode, we're discussing the spiritual implications of Pride Month, asking hard questions about what it represents—and how believers should respond. We're drawing the connection between pride, identity, and rebellion against God's design for human flourishing. Many Christians feel spiritually drained during this month, and we should. I'm challenging my listeners to love the LGBTQ+ community not with silence or compromise (and certainly not with support) but with truth—the truth that God offers forgiveness, transformation, and eternal life to all who repent and follow Christ. We must hate sin while praying for our enemies. Our culture desperately needs more holiness, conviction, and compassion rooted in the gospel, which is telling those around us the truth.—https://www.thebrandsunday.com/products/the-bible-study-physical?srsltid=AfmBOoqBR_MWE2-fkYXYHCn80nZtEct4ixmRGrXZSrgIn5HP_tBc9Mcy
I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 31st of May, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the first book in the Bible, Genesis 4:9: “Then the Lord said to Cain “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?” Then down to verse 12. The Lord says:”A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.” Then we go to the Gospel of John 8:44: ”You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” The devil is a liar. God asked Cain, ”Where is your brother?” Cain had murdered Abel and Cain told the first lie. He said, ”Am I my brother's keeper?” He knew exactly what he had done and where he had put the body but he told the Lord he didn't know. So Cain became a vagabond. I looked up the dictionary. A vagabond is someone who has no settled home. He became a vagabond and a fugitive. A fugitive is a person who lives in hiding. What a way to live! My dear friend. Today, you and I need to understand one thing. Lies come from the devil himself. He is the father of all lies. It will not get you out of trouble. It will not help you. It will, in fact, condemn you. We need to tell the truth at all costs. One of the most tragic stories that I have ever known was when President Richard Nixon, the president of the United States of America, told lies. We are talking about the Watergate scandal, when he said that he didn't do it when he did. He put his hand on the Bible and swore that he had not told lies, but you see what happens with lies, they always find you out and he was the first and only president that resigned from his office. He had to, because he told one lie on top of another lie, on top of another lie, and it cost him his position.Today, the Lord is saying to you and to me, tell the truth because if you tell lies you can be sure they will find you out. Today, speak the truth and you will not be a fugitive or a vagabond, but you will be a child of God.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day, Goodbye.

There is a reason Judas and the crowd came to arrest Jesus at night; they didn't want anyone to see their actions. Even in the midst of this dark moment, Jesus speaks to the shadows, casting light into the darkness. How can we be a people that brings light to the shadows of our lives? This message is taught from using the passage of Luke 22:47-53.

Scripture: Exodus 20:16, Proverbs 19:5, John 8:44, Ephesians 4:25, Ephesians 4:15, Proverbs 26:20, Romans 1:28ff, Philippians 2:5, John 8:31-32 You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16 The Bible tells us that there is One who is only truth. One who is total and absolute in His Truthfulness and that is our Living God. God values truth and judges lies. Proverbs 19:5 “A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will not go free.” Pastor shares two examples from scripture. 1. From the Old Testament in 1 Kings 21 about Naboth 2. From the New Testament in Acts 6-7 about Stephen These stories encourage us to take seriously the importance of truth. Lying is an issue in our culture today. Lying is seen in some of the highest places and some of the most common parts of our daily lives. What does it mean “you shall not give false testimony” ⁃ REJECT THE LIE - Recognize where lies come from. John 8:44 “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Lies come from the enemy - He's a liar and his lies are destructive to our culture and to ourselves. We are to turn our backs on the father of lies. ⁃ SPEAK THE TRUTH - we are to speak only truth. Ephesians 4:25 “Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” God only speaks truths and we are to speak truthfully, too. ⁃ SPEAK TRUTH IN LOVE - do not be spiritually haughty - that attitude tears people down. We are to speak what is best for people who we know Jesus died for. (Because he died for ALL) We are not to lie in order to seek to get even, or to lie in order to hurt others or to lie to make ourselves look good. Ephesians 4:15 “ Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Our words are to give glory to God and blessing to others. ⁃ RENOUNCE GOSSIP - Gossip destroys reputations, it destroys relationship with God. Proverbs 26:20 “Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.” God detests gossiping - so live like children of God. ⁃ BE CHRIST-LIKE - have the mind of Christ. Philippians 2:5 “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus” Jesus is Truth and Truth sets us FREE! John 8:31-32 “To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'” God's truth changes us, changes families, changes communities and changes countries, God is calling us to embrace the truth and to live the truth. He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. (John 14:6). And we are to reflect His goodness in this darkened world. Now What? Learn about God at https://www.awakeusnow.com EVERYTHING we offer is FREE. If we truly care about people, then we need to tell them the truth. That's easier said than done, right? It's hard to confront wrong behavior in others. But with God's grace, we can speak the truth in love and point the people in our lives toward righteousness. Let's not simply tell others what they want to hear; let's tell them the good news of Jesus!

#553 Positive Motivation to Speak the Truth. To slip into lying is easy for some folks. However, imagine having a completely reliable friend, someone who out of there integrity could be trusted to speak truth to you. Let's agree, that is a person who could truly be a friend. Now, imagine that friend is you. What are the benefits of leaving lies behind and living in truth? This is well worth the discussion. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/dl-700/support
