KI ist Chefsache: Warum Entscheidungsvakuum KI-Projekte killt   Kein Geschäftsführer vor Ort – und die gesamte KI-Initiative steht still. TJ zeigt anhand eines konkreten Praxisbeispiels, warum KI-Projekte ohne Rückendeckung von ganz oben scheitern. Wer als Berater nachhaltige Aufträge gewinnen will, kommt am CEO nicht vorbei.   Der Discovery-Call: Die einzige Phase, die nie wegfällt Ob du ein KI-Projekt operativ, taktisch oder strategisch angehst – eine Phase bleibt immer: das erste qualifizierende Gespräch. TJ nennt es Discovery-Call, Qualifizierungsgespräch, Anbahnungsgespräch oder Anamnese, je nach Kontext. Der Name spielt keine Rolle. Entscheidend ist, dass diese Phase niemals übersprungen wird. Hier entsteht entweder der Rahmen für ein größeres Projektvorhaben, oder sie ist selbst der erste bezahlte Schritt – etwa als Sensibilisierungsworkshop – bevor ein umfangreicheres Auftragsgewerk folgt. Wer diesen Einstieg strukturiert nutzt, legt das Fundament für alles, was danach kommt.   Operativer Einstieg, strategischer Sog – warum beides zusammengehört Viele Unternehmen wollen zunächst klein anfangen: ein einzelner Anwendungsfall, eine Prozessanalyse, eine Bestandsaufnahme des Kundenerlebnisses. Die bestehende Strategie bleibt unangetastet. Das ist legitim – und oft der einfachere Einstieg. Doch TJ beobachtet einen klaren Mechanismus: Sobald auf der operativen Ebene erste Ergebnisse entstehen, wächst der Druck, die Unternehmensstrategie ebenfalls anzufassen. Ein Fünf-Jahres-Plan, der vor ChatGPT und Co. entworfen wurde, ist unter den aktuellen KI-Rahmenbedingungen häufig nicht mehr tragbar. Ob dieser Impuls von unten kommt – aus einer erfolgreichen Marketingabteilung – oder von oben, ist letztlich egal. Er kommt.   KI ist Chefsache – die Kernbotschaft, die zählt TJ formuliert es klar: KI ist Chefsache. Diese Botschaft trägt er als Kernaussage in seine Keynote und als Titel seines Springer-Buches *„Chefsache KI-Strategie"*, das am 19. November erscheint. Die Datenlage aus seiner eigenen Berater-Community bestätigt das. Nahezu alle erfolgreichen KI-Beratungsaufträge der Alumni des Koerting Institute laufen über den Geschäftsführer oder CEO – nicht über Abteilungsleiter, nicht über IT-Heads, nicht über operative Führungskräfte. Wer als KI-Strategieberater auf Abteilungsebene einsteigt und hofft, sich nach oben zu arbeiten, verliert wertvolle Zeit und riskiert, dass das Projekt im ersten Sturm aufgegeben wird.   Praxisbeispiel: Wenn der GF fehlt, steht der Laden still Ein konkretes Beispiel macht die Konsequenz greifbar. Robert Sonnenberger, Alumnus einer früheren Kohorte, erlebte genau dieses Szenario: Der Geschäftsführer seines Kunden wurde abgelöst. Der Interim Manager überbrückte drei Monate. Der neue, bereits kontrahierte Geschäftsführer war noch nicht vor Ort. Ergebnis: Die gesamte KI-Initiative stand still. Nicht wegen fehlendem Budget, nicht wegen schlechter Umsetzung – sondern weil der einzig verlässliche Anker fehlte. Kein Entscheider, kein Fortschritt. Dieses Beispiel illustriert, warum die Abhängigkeit vom CEO kein strukturelles Risiko ist, sondern schlicht die Realität in KI-Transformationsprojekten.   Fazit: Wer KI-Projekte wirklich voranbringen will, geht direkt zur Spitze Die Folge liefert eine klare Handlungsempfehlung: Als KI-Berater immer den Einstieg über den CEO suchen – nicht als taktisches Manöver, sondern weil es strukturell der einzige stabile Ankerpunkt ist. Der Discovery-Call ist dabei das universelle Werkzeug, das unabhängig vom Einstiegspunkt immer funktioniert. Und wer operativ startet, sollte von Anfang an wissen: Die strategische Ebene kommt. Conflicting evidence exists regarding the ability of surgical helmet systems (SHSs) to reduce rates of infection after joint replacement. The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of SHS in total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) and their effect on postoperative infection rates. In conclusion, Although SHS may provide additional protection for the surgeon from being contaminated during the surgery, the use of surgical hoods was not associated with a protective effect against surgical site infection. Considering the disadvantages and added costs of SHS, the decision to wear hoods during TAA is therefore left to the individual surgeon's discretion and personal preference. Haywood, D.M.D., is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Restorative Sciences, Dental College of Georgia @ Augusta University.  A 1974 alumni of the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, he was in private practice 7 years in Augusta, Georgia and taught at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, NC in Operative and Prosthodontics for 12 years before coming to Augusta University in 1993. In 1989, he co-authored the first publication in the world on Nightguard vital bleaching (at-home tray bleaching) with Dr. Harald Heymann, and in 1997 co-authored the first article on extended treatment (six-months) of tetracycline-stained teeth using this technique.While he is most known for his research and articles on tray bleaching, he taught in the Fixed Prosthodontics courses, the Occlusion courses,and the Esthetics course, as well as in sophomore and junior Operative and Fixed student clinics. After over 29 years at the Dental College of Georgia, he retired from full-time teaching in December 2022. The DCG Class of 1997 initiated a scholarship in his name for clinical excellence and compassionate care.
