As an Operative who served as a Country Chief for a Special Unit within the CIA, Nic witnessed not only the epidemic of child trafficking within illicit markets but also the unrealized opportunity to apply his understanding and training to influence this global crisis. As Nic began to work with experts to better understand the problem in the United States, he found it impossible to turn a blind eye. As a result, DeliverFund was officially established as a 501c3 in October 2014 and our counter-human trafficking organization focused on ending sex slavery in the United States got to work. Nic spent 11 years in US Special Operations as an Air Force Pararescueman prior to being recruited to the Central Intelligence Agency. Due to his highly specialized training and experience in both special and intelligence operations, Nic has a firm understanding of these illicit, illegal markets and has the highest levels of training to effectively combat them.

Now, unfortunately, after we recorded that episode, and after we recorded this one, Sanj felt acutely unwell. It was actually scary hearing the news of him being ill. But I'm getting some positive updates. And so we the Protrusive Dental Community, and then all dentists around the world. We wish Sanj a speedy recovery. We hope you get well soon. We're so glad you're okay and on the mend. And we want to pass on these wishes to you. It's been quite clear on social media, what a likable guy you are, and how much we all want you to make a speedy recovery mate. So wishing you all the best and get well soon from Team protrusive. Jaz's Introduction:I bet this scenario sounds very familiar to you imagine you're on a course you having a great time. I personally love courses, I think you all know that. You're on your fifth coffee, and everything's going great. And suddenly your pocket starts vibrating. You've got a call from the practice or text message informing receptionist saying that, 'Mrs. Smith, you know, the root canal that you saw yesterday, she's in absolute agony.' And you curse because you think wow, you know, that was a completely straightforward root canal procedure. The patient was asymptomatic before you even started. Why is this happening for me? Look, post-op pain after endodontics is an absolute bitch. It's one of those annoying things ever actually puts me off doing root canal treatment because of the one in harmony of a chance that post op pain instance is going to happen. And I'm going to discuss with Sanj Bhandari who does such a brilliant job in that GF o one six, where we talk about how to extirpate properly and efficiently. So if you haven't listened to that one, oh my goodness, you are in for a treat. Go back and listen to that one. But in this episode, we're focusing more on post op pain like how do you manage that kind of scenario? What do you say to the patient? How can you prevent this from even happening in the first place? You know, it's funny I've actually had four root canals on my own self and before you think, 'Oh, Jaz is disgusting, you got caries, etc.' No, it's actually trauma from orthodontics. Can you believe it? Orthodontics devitalize, my lower four incisors, and I've had all sorts of issues and root canals and fractures, etc, etc. And now have a resin bonded zirconia bridge, hence why I'm so passionate about those bridges. Anyway, I experienced post op pain myself, it was a nasty thing. It was lots of inflammation. And so I've been there and I totally empathize with my patients. Before we joined the main episode I want to say yesterday I released new tickets to Fin...

On this episode of the Friends in Beauty podcast I welcome Crystal Wilson to the Friends in Beauty guest chair. Crystal Wilson became a certified esthetician and massage therapist after fighting depression while working in corporate America. She later grew a passion for beauty entrepreneurship, creating her own business, the Luxe Beauty and Body Studio and Training Academy. Providing over 1,000 certifications to beauty industry entrepreneurs.    She has also worked with clients of Mia Esthetics and Goals plastic surgery, some of the prominent facilities in Miami and Atlanta. With her experience working and creating an honorable reputation in the surgical community, Crystal has made it a goal to be transparent and authentic with her services, revealing the truth about post-operative surgical care.  With the glorification of plastic surgery, most people aren't aware of the toll it can take on their bodies until after surgery.    The pre-and postoperative period is a critical time for patients to be prepared. As Crystal points out, “post-operative surgical care is more important than the actual surgery because if you don't take care of your body after surgery, you will get infections.” Being properly informed and guided can help reduce the risk of complications and support the surgical recovery process.   I had such a fun time chatting with Crystal. I'm so intrigued by the world of plastic surgery so I had tons of questions to ask her. In this interview Crystal shares:   -How she transitioned from a career in finance to the beauty industry -The different pre-op and post op services that she provides -How to mentally prepare yourself for surgery -The importance of post-operative surgical care -What you should look for in post-op care -How she's educating other practitioners + providing them with valuable resources with her Columbia trips  -And so much more   I learned so much during this interview. If you or someone that you know are considering plastic surgery then definitely send them this chat to listen to. We ask Dr. Steiner some of the post common post-operative questions we get from athletes in our office, including: When should you get an MRI How long should you wear a brace after ACL surgery? Do you need to wear a brace when you return-to-sport after ACL surgery? Which graft is best to reconstruct your ACL? When can you drive after knee surgery? Why do some surgeries require a lot of restrictions and precautions after surgery? Should I get a PRP injection or a stem cell injection? Dr. Steiner was a great guest and did really dove in deep on many of these questions. However, we do want to give the disclaimer that every surgery, patient and case is different, so use this as general information, but make sure you ask your surgeon for specific advice about your unique situation. To work with Dr. Steiner find him online at: www.orthowisconsin.com Or on Instagram: @orthowisconsin At Kinetic Sports Medicine, we Specialize in helping athlete recover from surgery and not only return to sport, but return safely and performing at a high level. Blake and Don talk about how Don's cars worth a small fortune were stolen over a six-day period in the South Valley. The vintage cars date back to the 30s and the 60s. Despite earlier claims of a ceasefire, fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenia continued Wednesday, a day after nearly 100 soldiers died in clashes, according to the Azerbaijani and Armenian ministries of defense. The shadowy Russian operative who was allegedly the key source for the discredited Steele dossier that may have helped spur the FBI's Trump-Russia collusion probe was put on the bureau's payroll despite prior concerns he was an agent of Moscow, according to Special Counsel John Durham. Ask Aaron Judge about his massive lead in the American League's home run and RBI races and the Yankees' slugger echoes a thought from the great Satchel Paige, who famously remarked, “Don't look back, something might be gaining on you.” But let's be honest -- no one is catching him there, and what's more, a Triple Crown may now be within reach.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A literal throw-back! Recorded in February 2022, Sara didn't get around to editing and posting until September 2022.  In this belated Season 2 closer, Sara and Laura discuss (after some updates on recent ColdFlash and Gallaghercest obsessions) a commonly forgotten or misunderstood Archive Warning: the "Choose Not to Warn" tag. They discuss the purpose of CNTW in context of and along with a phenomenally written story, "The Operative Word" by road_rhythm, in which Sam Winchester weighs the meaning of life, death, and the existence of Free Will itself.  Do fanfiction authors have the option to choose their own endings? Do fanfiction readers have the resources to filter out what they do and do not want to read?? The option on all fronts is a resounding YES, and the Talkin' Fanfic gals break it all down, as well dig into the strong audience reaction elicited by road_rhythm's fearless work of near-metafiction. NOTE: Ironically in order to listen to this episode we are requiring you to first read "The Operative Word". You do not have a choice in this matter!! Tim Miller is a former Republican communications operative who held moderate views and backed moderate candidates for years. But he says in practicing the dark arts of opposition research and planting negative stories about rival candidates, he worked with increasingly extreme right-wing media outlets and fed populist outrage that would radicalize much of the Republican voter base. Miller examines his past work, and considers why so many Republicans who thought Trump unfit for office nonetheless backed him, in a new book, called Why We Did It.

“A government-trained predator.” That's one description of this week's Team Never Quit Podcast guest, Jay Dobyns. While he participated in hundreds of undercover operations as a federal agent, he is best known for getting past multiple layers of security and becoming a member of the Hells Angels. Jay's book about that investigation - No Angel, My Harrowing Undercover Journey to the Inner Circle of the Hells Angels - is a New York Times and international bestseller. Dobyns served as a federal agent for twenty-seven years, and was driven to succeed at any cost without regard for himself. These days, Jay has gone from a life of daring, undercover operations to becoming a High School football coach in Tucson, Arizona. Listen in as Jay and Marcus share an engaging conversation about Jay's encounters and adventures. In this episode you will hear: • The entertainment industry gets second takes.  If they miss a line, they can try again. In real life, there are no second chances. • I feel very blessed to have entered undercover work. Nothing really prepares you until you get out there and get your feet wet. • I've bought pea shooters, rocket launchers, bombs, homemade PVC pipe bombs, and servo activated C4. • I infiltrated home invasion crews. That's where I got my training to take on the Hells Angels. • I didn't always succeed at things, but I always tried. • My undercover persona eventually became who I was. • I made a million mistakes in my life, and my wife and family have given me one million and one second chances. • We fabricated the murder of a Hells Angels rival, and that is when I was welcomed into the organization. • I ruined everything for the mission. It was heartbreaking to see what I had done to get there. • God does not build us to intentionally betray people. • My agency failed to react to threats against me. I was told “You're on your own.” • When no one cares who gets credit for success, we're on to something. • Want someone to remember your name? You're gonna have to do something they will never forget. • If you want something you've never had before, you're gonna have to do things you've never done before. • Life is about making mistakes, but don't remake mine - I can tell you how they turn out. It's not good.
