Kristen Herrmann speaks with Exeter Township Police Sergeant Sean Fullerton about a pretty unusual occurrence (even for 422). Around 10pm this past Monday night, a small airplane made was forced to make an emergency landing on the highway in Exeter Township, Berks County (Kristen’s home town). The engine failed on the Cessna plane, and the 22 year old pilot had to think quickly, and land the plane in the closest, safest, spot he could find. That place happened to be 422 in Exeter Township. Hear all of the details about this exciting story from Sergeant Fullerton, whose team was dispatched to the scene, where miraculously no one was injured and the landing caused only minor damage to one vehicle.   See omnystudio.com/policies/listener for privacy information.

The following morning we boarded the Disney Dream in Port Canaveral, Florida which then traveled to Nassau, Bahamas and then Castaway Cay (Disney’s own private island) and back again. We had the time of our lives. While on the ship, I had the opportunity to speak with a number of Disney representatives about all that the ship has to offer. The ship is filled with Disney characters and entertainment and incredible dining options and adventures. We were sailing over the Halloween season which was a whole other adventure entirely. We dressed up and trick-or-treated and enjoyed a one of a kind Halloween celebration that only Disney can offer. We made memories that I will never forget, and I highly recommend this cruise to anyone. I hope to return some day soon. Why am I telling you all of this? Well, if you registered to win, you may just be headed there too. We are giving away a Disney Cruise Line Vacation for 4 aboard the Disney Dream. Michael Bolton (not that Michael Bolton), the Vice President of Community Initiatives for Opera Philadelphia, and Sarah Williams, the New Works Administrator for Opera Philadelphia join Kristen Herrmann in studio to talk about this year’s Opera on the Mall. Opera on the Mall is opera for everyone. Opera being shown FOR FREE on an HD screen in the middle of Independence Mall. It’s super cool, and this year it’s cooler than ever. One year after its sold-out world premiere, Opera Philadelphia is producing an encore engagement of We Shall Not Be Moved. Hear all about it, then join the rest of the city on Saturday, September 29th at 6pm at Independence National Historic Park for a FREE screening of the show. Bring blankets, food, even alcohol, and see opera as you’ve never seen it before. Tickets will be made available to the public on Wednesday, August 29th. Then, once you’re hooked - join Opera Philadelphia for the rest of their O18 festival. More details at www.operaphila.org. Then, the very funny comedian Dan Soder joins Matt & Kristen on the Morning Show to talk about his upcoming performances, Billions on Showtime, new Netflix special, wrestling, roller derby and more.
