It's easy to get attached to outcomes. We hope life will unfold in a neat and orderly way. When it takes a hard left turn, however, we cling to the idea that we were supposed to go right. Our attachment to the result stops us from enjoying an alternative scenic and eye-opening route. What would happen if we doubled down our commitment while embracing the unknown? If we stopped assuming that we know what our path is supposed to look like? That's what this episode of The Dare to Dream Podcast is all about—releasing our attachment to the outcome with the bravery and audacity to leap before you look. To know that everything will be okay - better than you can possibly imagine - if you courageously traverse into uncharted terrain. Expect to learn: Why letting go of the outcome is so essential How to find your competitive advantage Why Vinny gets so much hate mail Why nothing really matters (in a good way) The paradox of life The difference between being creepy and caring And much more. First, the name of the Buddhist climate activist who self-immolated in front of the Supreme Court was Wynn Bruce. Matt forgets his name when he mentions him, but everyone should know him. In this episode, we finish volume 2 of Green Earth, discussing "The Cold Snap," "Always Generous," "Leap Before You Look," and "Primavera Porteño"-- in a very freewheeling manner, it must be said! We talk about the gap between knowing and acting, seeming and being. And ponder the following questions: Are elections meaningful? Is Frank's brain injury the cause of his indecision? Is the Khembali exorcism ceremony real? Which of them are theater? Paranoia, bourgeois individualism, coping, illusion, co-imagining trauma and the everyday, living a whole life--big themes in this episode! We also mourn the passing of Hilary's cat and frequent podcast drop-in Louise, and look forward to the utopia of feline immortality under communism. Thanks for listening! Marc Lore is all too familiar with leaping into the unknown. He's made leaps of faith as the founder of Diapers.com, Jet.com, the CEO of Walmart U.S. e-commerce, and now, as a part owner of NBA/WNBA teams, along with Telosa, a city that he's announced he's building from scratch. One thing he's learned from all of these audacious endeavors: you can't leap alone. You need to convince your team, and more importantly, your customers to leap with you. As you'll hear in this episode, Lore's many leaps have evolved the way he assesses the risk involved. And each time, he's refined his method for bringing others – including customers, investors, co-founders and suppliers – along with him.Read a transcript of this episode: https://mastersofscale.comSubscribe to the Masters of Scale weekly newsletter: http://eepurl.com/dlirtXSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We all know we should think more.  But there comes a certain point in which action is necessary.  This seems counterintuitive, but studies have shown that thinking and doing are mutually exclusive.  Therefore, in order to get from Point A to Point B, action is necessary, even if the steps are small and seemingly useless.  You'll also have to force yourself to stop learning and consuming information to take action, but in the end, it works out better because the best way of gathering information is firsthand experience.
